Chapter 40 - Where Gods Diverge

Earth and Eden belonged to two separate worlds. That much Adam already knew.

The point where their histories intersected… was the Apocalypse of Eden.

Before that catastrophe, Earth's history had unfolded exactly as Adam remembered from his previous life.

Then came the Flood of Eden. The Ark Event.

After that, the two worlds began to overlap.

And Adam—reborn into this life—had become the butterfly whose wings stirred the storm.

His very existence had created ripple effects across Earth's timeline.

But one question remained.

Where exactly was this point of intersection… on Earth's historical calendar?

Adam didn't know.

What he could confirm was this:

Greece already existed. The Aegean civilization was in full swing.

Which meant—chronologically—this had to be B.C.

But which year?

No one could say.

Adam and Eve had both come from ordinary human backgrounds.Their knowledge of ancient history was fragmentary at best.

If the reference itself was blurry… there was no way to calculate the exact year.

Still—

If Greece existed, then Egypt existed.Babylon existed.Ancient India existed. And the Huaxia civilization existed.

Everything before the intersection point had once been real history.

Nothing had been erased.

Only… diverted.

And among all civilizations, the one most affected—

Was Greece.

In Adam's previous life, Greece should have fallen. It should have been replaced by Rome.

But here?

Greece had received powerful reinforcements.

The Giants.

After leaving the First City, the Giant race had been welcomed by the Greek people with open arms.

They resembled the Titans of Greek mythology almost perfectly.

So the Greeks worshiped them as living gods.

In return, the Giants stabilized Greece internally… and crushed its enemies externally.

But that divine intervention came at a price.

Human societal evolution was halted.

Reforms stalled.History froze.

Two thousand years later—

Greece had not declined.

It had risen.

It was now the dominant superpower of the Western Continent.

Where Greek influence spread… Giant footprints followed.

Even the North African nation of Musa—where Adam once stayed—was merely a vassal state of the Greek Republic.

That Giant he saw on the coast…

Apollo.

The name was probably given by the Greeks themselves.

To them, Giants were incarnations of gods.

Adam fell into deeper thought.

In biblical lore from his previous life, Giants had also existed—born from bloodline corruption in Eden.

They were one of the direct causes behind the Noah's Ark catastrophe.

So then…

Were the Titans of Greek myth also hybrid offspring of angels and demons from Eden?

Too many variables.

Too many unknowns.

Even the timing of the Eden Flood differed between lives.

Logically, the Flood of this world should have happened earlier.

But Adam had once looked down upon Earth from Eden's firmament.

He had seen it with his own eyes—

The two worlds rotated under different temporal and spatial laws.

Time did not flow equally.

So conventional calculations meant nothing.

"…What about the Eastern Huaxia civilization?" Adam suddenly asked.

Even reborn… he still felt attachment to his ancestral roots.

"Them?" Yu Jia smiled lightly, sipping blood from his cup."They're doing just fine. Why?"

They sat at the tunnel entrance, keeping their voices low so as not to disturb Yin Ling's rest.

Blood jugs beside them.

Like nobles sharing wine in the night.

"Fine?" Adam frowned."If Greece is that powerful… how did Huaxia resist invasion?"

Eden's races lacked population to conquer the world.

But Greece?

Humans reproduced fast.

Given resources, territory, and Giant military power…

Global conquest was entirely possible.

Primitive civilizations were often the most conquest-driven.

Yu Jia thought for a long moment.

"How do I put it…" he muttered."They have… powerful individuals."

"They're called Daoists."

"They use strange arts. Mystical techniques. Some are as strong as Giants… maybe stronger."

"Pfft—!"

Adam sprayed blood from his mouth again.

"Daoists…?"

He stared blankly.

Where did that come from?

Eden's races had divine origins tied to Yahweh. Supernatural power made sense.

But Daoists?

What did they have to do with God?

Yu Jia's next sentence detonated like thunder.

"They belong to a different divine system," he said."I studied it briefly. Their god is called… Pangu."

Adam inhaled sharply.

Pangu. The Creator.

"How did I not realize this earlier…?"

If Yahweh was real—

Then other gods could be real too.

Back when Adam first arrived on Earth, he should have considered it.

But his scientific upbringing had poisoned his instincts.

He had believed in Darwin.Believed life evolved naturally.

Yu Jia kept talking—speculations, research notes, fragmented theories.

But Adam had already sunk deep into thought.

Pangu was real.

He created Earth.

Yahweh created Eden—another dimension entirely.

Two creator gods.

No conflict in origin.

In cosmic voids, Adam once theorized Yahweh was merely one god among many.

Now he was certain.

Pangu was another.

And unlike Yahweh—

Pangu had sacrificed his own body to form Earth itself.

A world far vaster than Eden.

He did not create heirs.

He created life… for the sake of a vibrant world.

Then he birthed powerful overseers to guide it.

The serpent-humans.

The Nüwa lineage.

Adam stared at the wall, smiling bitterly.

East and West mythology…

Had finally connected.

Those absurd legends…

Were real.

A chill crept up his spine.

How vast was this world really?

How many secrets remained hidden?

By all logic, Adam—formerly Lin Xuan—belonged to Pangu's lineage.

So why had Yahweh chosen him… of all people… to reincarnate as His own son?

Satan could reach Earth.

So Yahweh could too.

Which meant—

He knew Pangu existed.

Then why call Earth a land of sin?

Why did angels and demons call it Hell?

Had something happened… between the two creator gods?

Adam's thoughts spiraled.

Yu Jia's fragmented knowledge, combined with his own memories, began forming a coherent mytho-historical timeline.

The result…

Was shocking.

The legend of Nüwa repairing the sky was real.

And the one who caused the rupture—

Was Satan.

After losing the Celestial War, he fled to Earth… tearing open a dimensional rift that unleashed catastrophic floods.

Biblical texts described Satan as a Great Serpent.

Dead Sea Scrolls called him a Dragon.

What if both were true?

A being that was both serpent and dragon…

That was the Huaxia Divine Dragon.

Adam recalled ancient myths—

After the sky rupture and great flood, Nüwa subdued a black dragon that wreaked havoc.

No need to guess.

That dragon… was Satan.

Defeated by Yahweh in Heaven.Defeated again by Nüwa on Earth.

With nowhere left to go—

In the West, he remained the Devil.Tempter. Accuser. Demon King.

But in the East…

He became a guardian beast.A cultural totem.

"…So that's where the Divine Dragon came from," Adam laughed.

Thinking of Lucifer's honest face…

The sacred dragon image in his mind shrank dramatically.

Everything else followed logically.

Why did humans of Eden and Earth look alike?

Because both Yahweh and Pangu created life in their own image.

If Pangu existed—

Then Eastern mythological systems must exist too.

Immortals.Demons.Spirits.Deities.

Entire pantheons.

Powered by Pangu's divine force—just as angels and demons drew power from Yahweh.

Then one final question lingered.

If all these beings existed…

Why had they vanished from Adam's previous life?

This world had advanced two thousand years beyond that era.

Were those mythic entities still active?

Still fighting?

Adam didn't know.

Just like he still didn't know why Yahweh feared hybrids so deeply.

Too many mysteries remained.

But one truth stood clear.

To uncover answers…To save Yilin…To find Lilith…To kill Uriel…

He needed power.

More power.

"Yu Jia," Adam said quietly.

"We leave tomorrow."

"Destination—Athens."
