Lin Meiyin was slicing the vegetables angrily and sliced her index finger in the process, blood gushed out immediately. "Ahh!! Mrs Lu your hand why weren't you being careful" came Aunt Chu's scared voice from the kitchen. Gu Chenyu's eyes twitched and he gets up and runs to the kitchen. Lin Meiyin was in pain and there was blood flowing down her finger dropping on the vegetables. Lin Meiyin immediately covers her finger so he wouldn't see it. "Aunt Chu why are you making a fuss it's just a small cut" said Lin Meiyin her hand was covered in blood and she said it was a small cut did she really have that much blood Gu Chenyu thought to himself he drags her hand and his facial expression changes as he sees the deep cut on her index finger the knife had also hit her tissue too."You stupid woman does this look like a small injury to you" he screamed. Gu Chenyu put her finger in his mouth Lin Meiyin's eyes widened she wanted to take her hand away but he gives her a sharp look. "What are you doing?" She said her finger got itchy she wanted to drag her hand out of his mouth. Gu Chenyu spat out a mouthful of blood in the sink and then he puts her finger in his mouth again. Lin Meiyin's cheeks turn red instantly at the door stood the lady her eyes on Lin Meiyin trying to study her.
Gu Chenyu opens the first aid kit and then dresses Lin Meiyin's wound. "Why are you so clumsy"he said he's eyes filled with anger and worry this woman was really something else. He thought she had burnt herself, he felt he was going crazy with her around. "I'm fine now" she said pulling her hand away.
"You can't cook anymore Aunt Chu will do it" he said.
Lin Meiyin stands up and walks away she looks at the woman who was smiling at her something flashed past their eyes.
" I'm Nan Rouchu " she said.
"I'm Lin Meiyin" said Lin Meiyin
"I admire Miss Lin's strategy,just to call for attention" said Nan Rouchu
Lin Meiyin smiles "Gu Chenyu doesn't like scheming women why would I risk my hand for his attention when my hand is the most important part of my body as a pianist and violinist, I'm not desperate for a man's attention but I think Miss Nan is picking up a married man's phone is like sowing discord in his family " said Lin Meiyin with a wink and a smile then she gets up.
"I would love to learn from Miss Nan " she adds standing by the staircase with a smile. Nan Rouchu sat there looking at Lin Meiyin and watching her leave. She clentches her fists and then smiles. Soon dinner was served and Lin Meiyin sat down quietly eating her food saying nothing and treating the two of them like air, Gu Chenyu looked at her from time to time no flaws on her face.
After dinner Nan Rouchu leaves Gu Chenyu marches up to Lin Meiyin's room and then saw that she was sitting down by the French window feeling the breeze her face expressionless. "You two seemed to get close and know each other very well Mr Gu I wonder why you didn't marry her anyway instead of me" said Lin Meiyin with a smile. Gu Chenyu looks at Lin Meiyin talking she stands up "Lin Meiyin what is wrong with you if you have a problem spit it out" said Gu Chenyu.
"I've told you, it's what you wanted, we are just partners and we shouldn't meddle so that's what I'm doing" she said.
"Lin Meiyin what did you find out?" He asked.
"Was I not supposed to to find out, you two brothers are the same playing mind games with me, keeping me locked up and under you while you go play outside I'm sorry I didn't sign up for this we should just get a divorce" said Lin Meiyin.
Gu Chenyu's brows furrowed "What are you trying to Imply here Lin Meiyin" he said walking towards her.
"You know what I'm talking about, by the way it's not my business "she said her nose in the air, arms across her chest. She was about to walk away when Gu Chenyu pulls her and slams her against the wall,
"Lin Meiyin I have no idea of what you're talking about" he said.
"I thought of apologizing to you but you don't need it anymore, now let go you're hurting me " she said.
"Lin Meiyin are you jealous?" He asked
Lin Meiyin starts laughing "This isn't even a real marriage why should I be jealous of your relationship with other women" she said. Gu Chenyu studies her behavior, and his grip tightened, "Lin Meiyin I don't understand what you're saying" he said.
"Stop pushing" she said, Gu Chenyu's face got closer. "You are jealous, Miss Nan is a close friend we went to the same university so stop overthinking things if that's what you want to hear"he whispers in her ear.
Lin Meiyin looks at him, he held both her hands and fastened them to the wall they were so close their bodies joined and their breaths mingling, "Don't fall for that trick Lin Meiyin he's deceiving you" she said to herself.
"You smell of alcohol it makes my stomach churn" she said. The room was tense and hot, their silence itchy, Gu Chenyu's eyes were all over her then all of a sudden he let's her go and storms out of the room closing the door with a big bang. Lin Meiyin wipes her eyes and then goes to sleep.
Gu Chenyu left the house and Lin Meiyin didn't see him for two months none of them bothering to call each other.
Lin Meiyin comes downstairs and looks around still no sign of her dear husband. She sits down and haves her breakfast Gu Chenyu leaves the house and then she goes to Jeong foundation.
Lin Meiyin was rather not herself that morning she gave a few lessons and was left alone, she took out her laptop and submitted her work, being a ghost writer wasn't so bad. Lin Meiyin was busy working when the door opens " I told you I'll come find you"came a familiar voice, Lin Meiyin raises her head up and then her eyes widened. "Fu Shichen" she said standing up. Standing by the door was a man with dark eyes and black hair he wore a wind breaker and had a wide smile. Lin Meiyin goes to hug him, "You didn't even call me" said Fu Shichen carrying her. "Hey put me down" she said. "As light as a feather" he said. "Stop causing trouble immediately you come you start annoying me"she said punching his shoulder. "Ow" said Fu Shichen in a playful way.
"So what are you doing here in Shanghai?" She asked him.
"I'm a business man I travel a lot actually I ran away I decided to take a vacation from being CEO" he said. Fu Shichen was the most unserious man she had ever met in her life he was her troublesome friend they grew up together but he went to London they actually met there again. Fu Shichen had teased her and called her a fat kitten. "You've lost so much weight I could even break your bones, I can't even call you a fat kitten anymore" he said pressing her hand, Lin Meiyin yelped in pain and slaps his hand. "Let go stop harassing me "she said giving him an annoyed look. "Come on you know H city why don't you show me around " he said dragging her out of the office. It was like he was the one showing her around. Lin Meiyin was being led around H city by Fu Shichen, her feet were killing her. "I'm so tired of walking around with you my feet are killing me look I have heels on and you just drag me around "she said sitting down on a pavement in a shop. Fu Shichen clicks his tongue "you are still a lazy kitten aren't you"he said pulling her up and sweeping her off my feet then taking her into a restaurant. Lin Meiyin's cheeks were red. "Fu Shichen what are you doing out me down for God sake I'm going to kill you!!" She said grinding her teeth.
"You're just like a nagging wife" he said dropping her on a chair. Lin Meiyin pours and folds her hands, nose in the air, "By the way kitty it's your treat" he said smiling.
Fu Shichen starts ordering food for the two of them and they start eating.
Unknown to them a pair of eyes where staring at them, just across the table was Gu Chenyu and Nan Rouchu who was sitting in front of him with a group of friends they were busy chatting but the only person who was left out was Gu Chenyu whose eyes where somewhere else. One of the guys who were talking was looked at the Gu Chenyu and saw him just sitting there as quiet as a graveyard.
"Kitty the cake is so good here why don't you try it" he said feeding her. "Shichen what are you doing" she said.
"Come on kitty try it"he said, Lin Meiyin was hesitant and then she opens her mouth at the same time Gu Chenyu's face turns ashen watching what was playing right in front of him.
