Gu Chenyu's face turned ashen, "Chenyu I'm going to open your eyes this woman is no good,I don't like her who knows if she's plotting with Gu Zihan against you, she won't say it but she's still in love with him, yeah I investigated her, I know she's your half brother's ex fiancee I know the truth is bitter"said Nan Rouchu. Gu Chenyu says nothing and the other guys had withdrawed, leaving Nan Rouchu alone on the boat, "Nan Rouchu mind your business who gives you the right to say that" said Gu Chenyu his voice piercing inside her like knives.
"Okay I maybe wrong but who knows when she wants to cause problems for you" said Nan Rouchu.
"Nan Rouchu stop meddling in my life" said Gu Chenyu.
" I'm your friend Chenyu-

"Only on paper, it's just a contract marriage why do you care about her so much I don't trust her Chenyu you shouldn't fall in love with her" said Nan Rouchu.
"Nan Rouchu that's enough stop talking " said Qin Cheng trying to pull her away, "I think you had too much wine" said Wei Zhang.
"Let me go I'll walk myself, soon you'll see what I'm talking about Chenyu, mark my words" said Nan Rouchu storming out of the house.
"She has got some nerve to say that"said Pei Shao.
"Take her home " said Gu Chenyu to the others, he stands up and goes upstairs.
Lin Meiyin on the other side say on the floor knees up to her chest, her eyes red, she looks at the red mark on her arms well she had resulted to self harm to burn her anger ever since Gu Zihan left her it was a new habit. There was a faint knock on the door, she opens the door hiding her arm behind her back. It was Gu Chenyu"I apologize on Nan Rouchu's behalf she must have pushed you too hard" said Gu Chenyu.
"Well you should keep her away from me if she does something to anger me I won't hold back" said Lin Meiyin.
"By the way you know she likes you, she would have found pleasure doing business with you" said Lin Meiyin.
"I have my reasons, she's just a business partner and someone from the past, she had helped me a lot, I only think of her as a little sister" said Gu Chenyu.
"Say that to her not me" said Lin Meiyin "no need to apologize I don't want to think about it" said Lin Meiyin closing the door.
David didn't want to leave he looked around the room why did it smell a bit damp and there was a faint smell of iron, he looked down at Lin Meiyin who was closing the door.
"Lin Meiyin what are you hiding?" He asked using his hand to stop the door from closing.
"Um nothing have a good night" said Lin Meiyin but he pushes the door open and grabs the hand she was hiding he sees dried up blood on her hand and raises up her sleeve there were scars and a fresh wound. Gu Chenyu stared at her in horror "Lin Meiyin what is this? How did you get this?" He asked. "Let go no one did" said Lin Meiyin trying to pull her hand away.
"Is this what you meant by releasing your anger" said Gu Chenyu his eyes red. "Stop let me go, I don't want your sympathy" she said. Gu Chenyu pulls her into a hug "Let me go" said Lin Meiyin tears she had been holding back trickled down. "Go away Gu Chenyu please let me go" said Lin Meiyin.
Gu Chenyu didn't let her go and instead he closed the door, "Lin Meiyin don't you dare do it again" said Gu Chenyu.
"Why are you acting like you care about me I'm just a burden to you aren't I, you don't need to think of me as a responsibility" said Lin Meiyin. Gu Chenyu stopped hugging and looked into her eyes " You are not a responsibility Lin Meiyin you said we were supposed to be there for each other" said Gu Chenyu.
"If you feel like this again don't harm yourself tell me and we'll talk it out okay I won't care about what the problem is even if it's me, you can still tell me" said Gu Chenyu.
"You're just saying that to make me feel better " said Lin Meiyin.
"I am how about I say it in a harsher way I'll punish you " he said dragging her to the bathroom to wash her hands.
Lin Meiyin follows him like an obedient little puppy he takes her downstairs and then she takes a seat on the same couch. He gets the first aid box and then he cleans her wounds and dresses it.
"There you go" he said to her Lin Meiyin's eyes were swollen and he knew she hadn't been too happy since she came back from her father's house.
"You want to talk about it?" He asked.
"Mr Gu would probably be bored to death" said Lin Meiyin. Gu Chenyu places his hands on her shoulders, "Lin Meiyin you have to trust me, you should spit it out it helps you release the pain so you won't hurt yourself more, you're not the only one with problems" he said raising up the sleeve of his shirt there were scars on his hand too. Lin Meiyin looked at him Why where they so alike, "No one else knows about it" he said she looked into his eyes and she saw tenderness in them, she sniffles and then bursts into tears "I feel so alone and empty, it felt worse when I saw him siding them it was funny when he said those words to me, everything was always my fault I don't know why it hurts It wasn't supposed to hurt" said Lin Meiyin. Gu Chenyu wipes her tears "I always end up alone I'm just a burden to everyone I come in contact, I was a burden to my mother she had to stay with that man and she died because of sadness look at me everyone I think loves me always leave me I feel like I'm cursed" said Lin Meiyin. "But I'm here I won't leave you okay, look I'm here I'll stand by your side and no one will hurt you again" said Gu Chenyu and he makes her rest on his lap he strokes her hair. "Just remember you have me they are not worth it" he said coaxing her, he felt a bit angry seeing her like that.
"You know why I chose you" he said to her
Lin Meiyin looked at him " It's because we're alike and you're the only one who really sees me Lin is, straight to my soul, anytime you play you make me feel like I'm not alone I'm human after all I can't hide everything inside" said Gu Chenyu.
"It's strange for you to hear this from me but you and your music heals me" said Gu Chenyu. "Lin Meiyin you're not a burden to me" he said looking into her eyes, his glassy eyes shining
"You're my shelter" he said.
Lin Meiyin looked into his eyes and all his arrogance had faded away, she finally saw him as a normal human being that she could understand. Lin Meiyin hugs him and closes her eyes. Gu Chenyu strokes her hair he lowers his head and sniffs her hair she smelt like herbs, she was his comfort pillow he would never want her to go away, he didn't know what he would do without her.
They both just stayed there like that, maybe the evening wasn't so bad after all he still got to hold her. Maybe he should give those brats a second chance.
