Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Containment Complete

Chapter 27: Containment Complete: A Vengeful Spirit from Hell, Possessing the Trait of Immortality

In the corridor,

Danny crouched in front of Art the Clown, pulling out a ghost card.

[Containable entity detected: Art the Clown]

[Status: Severely injured, cannot be contained]

This information made Danny a little frustrated, so he added two more shots. Anyway, Art wasn't a good entity and liked to kill indiscriminately.

"Why don't you speak?"

Art the Clown writhed on the ground. He wanted to speak but couldn't.

"BANG!"

A hammer smashed onto Art's toes.

"Speak!"

"Tell me, why won't you ever speak?"

Bang, bang sounds echoed continuously through the building.

Danny even stomped several times on Art's injured toes, hurting him so much the Clown almost made a sound.

Although a certain villain had said that stomping on someone's toes was a trick only children played.

Danny knew Art the Clown possessed an immortal body and would revive even if killed, so he didn't choose to kill the Clown outright.

After hammering for a long time, he was a bit tired.

Art seemed dead, with blood pooling all around.

Others might have left, but Danny always had a habit of making sure.

After so many finishing blows, he should have died long ago. The problem was that even if he truly died, Danny wouldn't leave.

This was called spawn camping, or waiting for a respawn.

The ghost card still showed 'cannot be contained'.

How exactly could this monster with an immortal body be contained?

"How about dismembering him and trying?" Danny scratched his head and muttered to himself.

Art's seemingly dead body suddenly twitched, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself tied with ropes to a metal frame.

Danny was pulling out various tools from Art's black garbage bag.

There were knives, hammers, a hacksaw, and all sorts of strange implements. It looked like he wanted to dissect the Clown and also search for anything useful.

Apparently, besides weapons and some junk, there was nothing of value.

Although Art couldn't speak, he could understand human language, and he began to struggle frantically.

He'd killed so many people over the years. Usually, when he was killed in return, he'd just come back later. He'd never seen such a psychotic person who wouldn't even let go of a corpse.

Who exactly was the real monster here...

Danny glanced at the struggling Art, thought for a moment, and pulled out duct tape: "You're still not dead like this? Don't worry, I'm just going to study your body's structure. By the way, how can I seal you permanently?"

"Oh, I almost forgot, you can't speak."

The tape was slapped over Art's mouth.

Art the Clown: "Mmmph!"

The scene immediately became much quieter.

Danny began examining various tools and conducting cutting experiments. Art couldn't be killed permanently, and his combat power wasn't great, so Danny felt no qualms about researching him.

During the research process,

Tara and Dawn specifically came to thank him and even invited Danny to their rental apartment to hang out.

What kind of person was he?

Danny naturally declined. The main thing was researching the Clown. If he didn't figure this out now, what would he do if he encountered immortal killers like Jason or Michael later? Just stare helplessly?

So, research on Art was very necessary.

Inside the basement of the building,

to better research Art, Danny stopped pretending and directly merged with the alpha crawler, activating his second form and starting a frenzied dissection mode.

Art's eyes widened even further as he watched Danny complete his transformation.

Through his research,

Danny discovered Art's immortal body seemed to have limits, and sometimes his recovery was very slow, while at other times it was faster.

Sawing both halves of his body apart meant reattachment required a certain amount of time.

But if he wanted to remove a limb and then kill Art, that would take much longer—at least half a day or more.

Pain also existed.

Summary: It was indeed an immortal body, but much weaker than Jason or Michael Myers, with pain sensation and slower recovery time.

It was somewhat a weakened version. As for cremation, total dismemberment, and exorcism, Danny hadn't tried them yet. He was afraid of losing his test subject.

After all, it was hard to find such a relatively weak immortal entity for him to research and experiment with. Losing him would be difficult to replace.

When Art woke up again,

the look in his eyes toward Danny had turned to terror. God knew how long he'd been tormented.

He was either being experimented on or on the way to being killed again.

Although Art had an immortal body, he also felt pain.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been in so much agony when Tara struck him in the original film.

An entire night!

Was he human?

No, Danny sometimes really wasn't human.

"Huh, why can he suddenly be contained?"

Danny looked at the ghost card, feeling very strange. Which step exactly triggered the containment mechanism?

He thought for a while but had no clue. It was more important to contain him first.

Danny took out the ghost card and contained Art into the Five of Clubs. What he didn't notice was the look in Art's eyes in the last moment before being absorbed into the card—it was a look of relief.

Once the Clown was contained, the Six series was completely unlocked.

This was also an unexpected bonus.

Excluding the Four of Diamonds and Five of Clubs, there were now a total of eighteen additional empty ghost cards.

It seemed he needed to find time to contain more monsters.

Even if they had no growth potential, they'd be excellent cannon fodder.

Next, it was time to check Art's data.

[Containment Object: Art the Clown]

[Description: A vengeful spirit from hell, possessing the characteristic of supernatural immortality]

There was a description, which was quite good. At least he wasn't cannon fodder like the ordinary crawlers and Hillickers.

Next, it was time to check his inherent abilities.

[Containment Object: Art the Clown]

[Extractable Abilities: Immortal Body (Incomplete), Instant Movement (Incomplete), Soul Persistence (Incomplete), Curse Propagation]

Immortal Body (Incomplete): Slow recovery; faster recovery when unobserved; vulnerable to overwhelming destructive force.

Instant Movement: In unobserved areas, your movement speed will be significantly faster.

Soul Persistence: A wandering soul from hell, with a chance to revive through supernatural means.

Curse Propagation: Can be spread through recordings and videos, thereby manifesting at real-world nodes.

So that's how it worked.

The moment Danny saw most of Art's abilities, he understood.

The Immortal Body was originally incomplete, still susceptible to death from overwhelming force, and the slow recovery matched his observations.

However, even an incomplete Immortal Body was desirable.

Instant Movement was also good. He'd almost mistaken it for teleportation at first.

Faster movement when unobserved seemed good for escaping, but then again, for true demons or evil spirits, this speed wasn't impressive.

And there were Soul Persistence and Curse Propagation.

Soul Persistence should be the reason Art could revive. As for Curse Propagation, it sounded a bit useless, but if used correctly, it would be invaluable.

For example, if Danny was trapped in a certain location or horrific dimension,

if a recording or video happened to be playing at that moment, he could use this curse to escape the danger.

It was equivalent to leaving a teleportation anchor point.

Indeed, containment objects with descriptions were never too weak.

Art still had his uses, but in terms of combat power, he was completely incomparable to the alpha crawler.

Excited and eager,

Danny immediately proceeded to extract abilities...
