Chapter 2 - A New Life

"Oh what the fuck-"

Was the last thing Nova was able to say before her body went flying after getting hit by a truck. Damn you Truck-cun she thought before her surroundings went black. Nova felt like she was floating for some time when she sensed she wasn't alone anymore. This presence felt warm yet cold, familiar yet unfamiliar, welcoming yet not. She knew that this was death but why did he look like a reptile. The area around her transformed to the inside of an edgy castle. It also had a somewhat large table with chairs.

"Well our first meeting wasn't supposed to be like this but-" The mysterious god announced. If Nova was still alive she would've shook her head and walked away but she was dead and in the middle of a castle, an edgy one at that. Although he looked quite familiar it just wasn't clicking yet. " I may have accidentally…killed you"

Yeah she had to be going insane

This 'god' just admitted to killing her on accident would've pushed her over the edge if she hadn't felt little to no emotion currently. First her boyfriend cheated on her then she got fired from her job and got hit by a truck walking back home in addition to now staring at a god.

It seemed the god in front of her sensed her inner turmoil. He gently guided her with his dragon-like hand to the table in the middle and sat her down. Once he also sat down and she would escape from her thoughts when suddenly she sprouted up.

"Your Balerion from the Fourteen Flames of Valyria" Nova shouted excitedly, who wouldn't when there was a divine being from your favorite fictional series alive and talking to you. Even though he did technically kill her but that's besides the point. The Fourteen Flames of Old Valyria were the surrounding volcanoes but it was also related to the gods.

"But that still doesn't explain why I'm here and not anywhere else" As she said this a grin appeared on Balerions mouth. Well at least she can scratch making a god smile off her bucket list or if you can call it that. It is not everyday a celestial being brings someone back from the dead.

"And that's where I come in, Issa perzys. When you died instead of your soul going somewhere else it was stuck in what you humans call limbo. So, I pulled some strings and with the help of Meleys we made you a new body along with an identity. And lastly I'll give you some wishes since I did accidently killed you." Balerion stated while looking at Nova.

Originally he was just going to send her down to the stronghold her avatar's house had made years ago but he felt guilty about killing her and then trying to send her away unprepared. That and the fact it wasn't her time yet so, her soul was stuck in limbo until he found Nova. But he couldn't go back, not even when he had to look at the smugness on Meleys face as he did favors for her.

Plus if he was right about this human then things would certainly change for the better. She would change the fate of the dragon and hopefully be prepared for the Night King and the others. Maybe there were some things from her world that could even be introduced here. After some thinking Nova finally talked.

"It's tough to choose what I want but I've come to a decision. For my first wish I want to be able to bond with more than one dragon." Nova said before Balerion interrupted her.

"About that you will get a maximum of four dragons. You will gain one dragon at a time to not throw off the balance between the souls. Understand that each dragon you gain will be a part of your souls as will you be a part of theirs." Balerion Stated. He did not need to go head to head with Meleys after bring his champion to his world.

"That's understandable. The second wish is to know all the languages of the world. My third wish I want to have culinary skills" Nova excitedly stated while Balerion gave her a strange look but she ignored it and waited patiently for him to respond.

What? She sucked at cooking and the last time she cooked her kitchen almost burnt down. If Nova was going to survive in a world where everything was practically a game of chess then she needed food that's good and not bland or gross.

"If that's what you wish then you shall have it but be careful not to go down the same path your ancestors did. I'll put you near the last structure of your ancestor. Your first dragon is waiting for you Nova, good luck." Balerion warned her before touching her forehead.

A bright flash of light took over her eyesight and everything went black again. The Red comet would signal her arrival to the world and she would land near a castle with a new identity and purpose of the world.

Balerion sighed after the girl left. Many would take her arrival as both good and bad omens. The House of Black and White would see his chosen one and await her arrival while red priest got visions of her. All they knew was that her entrance would tip the balance of things. He would definitely need a vacation after dealing all the favors he owed.

Nova groaned as she slowly sat up and winced as she felt an agonizing pain going through her body. Looking around she noticed she was in an old courtyard while she found her sense of direction. Standing up with the help of a wall Nova observed the surrounding area.

The building had been weathered by time and the elements yet it was still standing strong with perseverance. Where had that damned god put her Nova thought. The last thing she remembered was Balerion touching her forehead.

She pushed harder and as she did memories flooded her head. These memories were not hers but they felt familiar. Was this her new life from now on? Shaking her head she sat back down and processed her thoughts.

Her new identity was a descendant of a long lost ancestry filled with dragons, magic, and a prestigious legacy. Adira Valeris is the last remaining descendant of house Valeris with the blood of Old Valyria flowing through her veins.

The House Valeris established its foundations as one the most powerful dragonlords. One of her ancestors had a dream about the doom of Old Valyria and got so fearful and nervous about his legacy that he built a castle off the coast of Valyria far enough so it wouldn't get it. Sadly the doom happened before he could get his family away. It is also where the memories stopped.

Their features were almost like that of dragons but how she did not know maybe the answer will come later in time. Nova - well Adira now - had a new look on the world and a purpose to fulfill. Once she got to the front of the structure she tried to push the doors but it didn't budge. She tried once more but it failed then made attempts to get in over and over again until she flopped to the ground.

Then suddenly an idea ran through her head and she sat up with excitement before hurrying off to find a rock. The idea was that if her ancestor was so paranoid then there was probability magic in the equation. Finding a rock that looked sharp enough she collected it up and went to the door.

"Ok 1, 2, 3, Now" Adira rushed before striking her hand with the rock. Crimson red blood drops hit the floor. She placed the bleeding limb on the door and pushed a bit of her magic into it. Red and white swirls around the door before a groan could be heard as it was pushed open.

Yeah fuck this shit Im out

She turned around and headed back to the courtyard. This wasn't about to turn into one of those horror movies where one of the main characters just walks into a haunted house. However soon she returned as her interest spiked when she went back to - what she found out was - the castle's courtyard.

Even though this feels like something from a horror movie. She couldn't help it, something was pulling her there but what is that pulling her the real question and the answer happened to be right in front of her. Literally. Now here she was back at the entrance trying to build up the courage to cross over.

Pacing back and forth with her hands on her hips she stopped looking toward the castle. Fuck it Adira thought before pushing the door open and entering. Inside it looked untouched and rough with thick stone walls as she walked the halls her ancestor had built. Shadows licked at the corners and Adira could've sworn she saw a set of eyes but it was gone in a flash.

This didn't deter the young dragon and instead pushed on. She discovered a labyrinth of rooms, tapestries with history that indicated a dark but amazing story, and banners of her house. Dragon statues were around each corner. After looking around the castle for about an hour Adira tiredly came across a large room with a nice size bed. Though she felt something tug her somewhere the fatigue took over.

On an island faraway with a forest so vast and full of life lay in the center of it was a dragon, bigger than Balerion the Black Dread, jolted awake. Her chosen rider had finally arrived and she wouldn't have to hide anymore. Unlike her brothers and sisters she refused to be a slave and take commands.

She wanted something more and that opportunity had just arrived. Preparing for the long flight she shook the dust and sand off her majestic body before walking out of the forest. Footsteps rattled the ground and swayed her wings stretched. Shooting out in the air the Empress of the Forest let out a mighty roar.
