"Father, we can begin now." Sayo's voice was hoarse from three sleepless nights, but his eyes shone with a manic, brilliant light.

Sayo removed his outer clothing and lay down in the cold metal chamber of the First Generation Body Tempering Furnace. The soft white light from the walls enveloped him like a shroud.

Sharyu closed his eyes, steadying his breathing. He began to flow his Chunin-level Chakra into the input nodes.

The furnace emitted a deep, powerful hum. The white light intensified, and a strange, deep warmth began to permeate Sayo's skin. At first, it felt like soaking in a hot spring, but then the sensation changed. The neutralized energy, stripped of Sharyu's "will" by the Puppet Core, began to penetrate his muscles and internal organs.
An indescribable tingling emerged from his very marrow. It was as if a dry, cracked earth was finally receiving rain; his cells, starved by congenital deficiency for nine years, were greedily absorbing the life energy.
Through "introspection," Sayo could see the sluggish, low-vitality tissues being vitalized. His bodily functions, previously like rusted gears, began to move with newfound efficiency. The process was not painless—when the energy hit atrophied meridian nodes, a profound stinging and swelling occurred. Sayo gritted his teeth, enduring the reshaping of his own biology.
The Dawn of a New Body
Time slowed. When Sharyu finally cut the power according to the plan, the humming faded, and the light receded. Sayo lay in the chamber, drenched in sweat and pale from the strain, but his eyes held an unprecedented fire.
He sat up slowly, flexing his fingers. Then, he clenched his fist. For the first time in his life, he felt a tangible "sense of strength." The omnipresent weakness that had defined his existence since birth was... lessened. It was a measurable, physical improvement.
"Father..." Sayo's voice was weary but full of joy. "It succeeded. It really... works!"
Sharyu stepped forward, catching his son's swaying body. He felt Sayo's breath; it was deeper, more forceful. Looking at the brilliance in Sayo's eyes, the resolute father felt his own eyes well up.
Restoring his foundation was no longer an unattainable dream. Sayo had built the machine that would allow him to grow, to train, and eventually, to stand as an equal among the monsters of the Shinobi world.
