I just don't get it, I mean Hoo Nan became friends of Prince Gi Tak in just a few weeks after getting here? How does she do it and to top it all, she ended up getting on the crowned Prince's nerves and she became the whole school's number one enemy but then Tae Jun warns everyone to stop harassing her.
I'm sometimes baffled by my own twin.
I wasn't the least surprised when I saw the news of Tae Jun's engagement with Yeon Ah.
Those two are perfect for each other, I mean one is cold and mean and the other is a spoilt brat with bad manners. I just can't imagine the kind of kingdom they will rule over and how they will rule.
I sat at the edge of my bed, lost in my thoughts I didn't even realize it when Tae Seo (Roommate) walked in.
He's the Prime Minister's second son and he's actually a kind dude.
"You look pale…is anything wrong?" He asked and I just smiled.
" or is it girl problem?" he added and I chuckled.
" Oh no… you know me, how can I have a girl problem." I said proudly and he chuckled.
" That's what I fear, your face will always land you in trouble. You've got the looks and you are the forth guy on the "perfect boyfriend looks" list, almost every girl wants to get close to you. I'm really concerned about it." He explained as he sat on the couch closer to his bed.
" I have no idea why they chase after me, I mean I come from a low class family and I don't really fit in here." I said with deep thoughts.
" Mostly, girls who are after you don't care about your family class, they can do anything and I mean anything just to make you theirs and trust me…I've been a witness to such incident." He stated and I nodded thoughtfully.
" I'm not the only good looking guy here, look at you… you hide behind your glasses and nerd looks because you don't want to be disturbed." I said to him and he smiled.
" I have no choice but to hide behind a disguise. I'm going to complete without them seeing my real looks. I just want to get some peace of mind and complete school peacefully." He said with a smile and I knew he really is going to go with it.
" So what's the real deal that's got you all serious, thoughtful and pale?" He asked me and I brought out a letter in a white envelope from underneath my pillow and handed it over to him.
" What's it?" He asked and I heaved a sigh.
" Open it and have a look." I said and he nodded as he carefully opened it.
He read the letter contained in it and his expression totally changed as he read through.
" Is the person trying to blackmail you?" He asked after reading through.
" I guess so…this is the fifth time I've received such a letter. And sometimes I receive them on my phone and laptop too." I added and he looked worried.
" Is he gay or something?"
" I have no idea, the last time he said he's going to post my nudes if I tell anyone."
" But do you have nudes?"
" Of course not, I know how I look beneath my clothes, he just took my half naked pictures, the ones I take during the shots and commercials and then Photo shopped it with someone's lower body part making it matching mine. It's so creepy." I replied and Tae Seo nearly jumped out of his skin.
" Do you have any idea who's behind it?"
"As far as I remember, my sister is the only one who always gets into trouble. I barely go out and not everyone knows she has a twin brother. They are mostly amazed when they realize she's my twin. I don't recall her getting into trouble will any pervert. He doesn't seem to be after her but me instead."
"I have no idea who it is." I added.
"Really you don't?" he asked with surprise as Tae Seo got off the couch and took his laptop from his bed.
"I can help you track where the messages are from and then we will eventually find who is behind it." He explained and took my laptop from my study desk.
He told me to show him the messages and he went through, and then fetched some information from them, entered it into his laptop then began to work on it. He was too fast that I couldn't catch up.
"Bingo! I found it." He said within some minutes later and I was shocked.
" You did?" I asked excitedly.
"Yeah, but there's a slight problem."
"And that is?"
" He uses another computer for these things. It's a café's computer and WiFi. If we go there and look through their most visited customers within the days theses messages were sent to you…we will be able to track him down before he does anything out of ordinary and you loose your face." He explained and I nodded. He showed me the name of the internet café and I knew that place. I used to visit there frequently with two friends of mine back in High School.
" I can take you there. The manager is a very good friend of mine and my friends. We were his favorite customers. If I inform him about my situation he will definitely let us go through it. The caretaker might even be of help as well." I said to him and he was glad because it will be easier to track down the person behind it.
" Let's leave early tomorrow morning. So we can sort things out before anything gets out of hand." Tae Seo said to me.
"Thanks man." I said with a smile and he smiled back.
"what are friends for?" he replied and tapped my shoulder.
" But you should've told me earlier…we would've gotten him by now." He added.
" I didn't want to get anyone involved since he threatened me as well. He even once said he was going to sexually abuse Hoo Nan if I dare try to do anything stupid. I just couldn't take it anymore that's why I decided to tell you. I'm sorry but I hope you understand my intentions."
" Of course I do. Don't worry we'll get through it together."
" You are so cool." I said to him and he smirked and replied with "oh yeah I know I'm cool".
It was already past twelve mid night, we could've gone to the café tonight and found out who's behind all this.
I was going through some of Hoo Nan's pictures and the silly comments on my posts when I saw a pop up message on my laptop. I opened it and it was him again, I was restless when I saw his message, he had sent a screenshot of what he did. He had posted the pictures he threatened to post. How can he post something he had photo shopped and captioned it "Yun Ki is a secret nude model."
"You and I both know that post is false!" I replied him.
" Didn't I warn you not to inform anyone about it. You did and I did what I promised to do didn't I?"
" No one is going to believe you. No one will believe this."
" Poor little thing, just take a look at how your beloved fans will troll you over this post, you think they care that much about you? Of course not they don't, they only believe what they see and are fed with on social media."
" You will regret this!!"
" You should've just agreed to be my partber and all this wouldn't have happened."
" In your dreams if you think I will be your partner. I'd rather die than be with you freak!"
I turned off my laptop and pushed it away. I didn't even bother to find out what is happening right now on the internet and I didn't want to wake Tae Seo up, he was fast asleep.
I walked to the kitchen and poured myself some orange juice, I was burning with rage that I nearly smashed the glass cup into the wall but I kept my cool.
I headed back to my bed and laid down lost in thoughts, I tried to find some clues about who was behind it. Then I felt my phone vibrate, it was Hoo Nan…I bet she just found out.
" Yun Ki…who is that good for nothing that posted those nudes? That's not how you look from waist down." She sounded really pissed off.
" I have no idea….wait, how did you know how I look from wast down?"
" Should I tell you how many times I've seen you in just boxers? "
"Never mind."
"How did he get those pictures?"
" They are photo shopped, remember the photoshoot I did for the male shorts commercials…"
" Yeah I do."
" Well he photo shopped it and made it look like it's my own nudes. He's been haunting and threatening me for some time now."
" And since when has he been doing this to you?"
" It's been almost two months now."
"And you didn't even bother to inform me about it or anything…Yun Ki how could you do this.?"
" I had my reasons beside he threatened me using you as well and I couldn't inform anyone about it."
" You should know me better than anyone Yun Ki, I can survive anywhere, even in the desert I can survive anything and no one can dare to do anything to me. Now look at what he just did, this might ruin your modelling career and taint your future as well."
I was dumb folded, all she was saying was true… but what could I have done. What if he really was able to do what he threatened to do?
" Yun Ki-ah…you don't worry okay, we will get through this together. Just please don't go through the comment section on the post please don't. Get some rest and I'll come over to your dorm early tomorrow morning."
" Okay sis, see you tomorrow." I said and we ended the call.
" Yun Ki-ah…what's going on?" it was Tae Seo, when did he wake up? My phone began ringing continuously and it was from my agency.
" Umm it's nothing, I'm going back to sleep so you should as well." I said as I laid down and covered myself with the duvet, silencing my phone.
"What are these?" He asked more to himself as he went through his phone.
" Yun Ki-ah…that jerk of a guy just uploaded those photo shopped pictures on the internet!" He said jumping out of his bed.
" Why didn't you wake me up when you saw them?" He asked and I was mute.
" You need to rest, we can go to the café tomorrow and find out who's behind it." I said to convince him but he shook his head and was fuming with rage.
" I don't know how but he found out that I had told someone about it. I just don't know how he found out."
" Can you give me the envelope that you showed me earlier?" Tae Seo asked and I handed it over to him.
He tore the envelope in two and lo and behold, a tiny device was attached to the internal part of it.
" I think this is how he got to know, he had attached a secret micro recorder to the envelope and luckily, I sat on it earlier while doing the research so he probably didn't hear the conversation between us about finding out who's behind it." Tae Seo explained after breaking the device and dumping it in the trash can next to my bed.
" Oh God, how can I let this happen?"
" This isn't any of your fault. We just need to act quick before he makes things worse and ruins your career." Tae Seo said to me.
We both kept on gathering information and traced a lot of his messages.
" Bingo!!" Tae Seo said and that nearly scared the hell out of me.
" Aish…you scared me."
" Sorry(chuckles)…this time around I think we just hit the jackpot." He said to me and I stretched my neck to look on his laptop screen.
" I think I found our little stalker." He said and a smile began to form at the corners of my lips.
" He uploaded the post from a building down the Gonsu street, I think that's where he stays. He tried to delete the account but then I hacked into it on time before he did."
" Then we will leave for the building next thing in the morning with Hoo Nan."
"Hoo Nan?"
"Yeah, she said she'll be coming over in the morning to check up on me. She'll be of great help if she comes along with us."
" Don't you think it's too dangerous for her?"
" Dangerous? There's nothing too dangerous for her. Boy, I don't even stand a chance at her when it comes to combat and skills. I wonder if she was supposed to be born a male but then took the form of a female instead."
" Hey, you better watch what you say about your sister." It was a female voice, it was Hoo Nan's voice.
" Did you hear that?" I asked Tae Seo who burst into laughter.
" Just look behind you." He said still laughing and I was startled when I turned.
"Hah…you scared me!" I shouted at her and she smacked my head in return.
I checked the time and it was few minutes past four am…did we stayed up all nigjt? I saw how Hoo Nan checked him out. She was probably marveled by seeing the real Tae Seo without the dorky glasses and awkward clothes.
" Its already morning and I guess you two didn't sleep did you?" She asked us and I scratched the back of my neck.
" How did you get in here?" I asked her changing the topic.
" You were blabbing so much that you didn't even realize Tae Seo stood up and opened the door for me after I sent a message to him that I was at the door." She replied sitting on my bed.
" Wow…is that you Tae Seo?" She asked, her eyes growing wide.
" I didn't realize it when you opened the door for me. Damn your are one good looking dude…why hide behind those glasses and nerdy hairstyle?" she asked turning to Tae Seo who looked away shyly.
" You are too fine…" She added dreamingly taking him in, more than she should.
" Thanks." Tae Seo replied shyly.
" Did you come here to compliment him or help?" I interjected.
" Ya…what? Does it hurt your pride because I'm admiring his looks and not your ugly face?"
"Oh…did you say I'm ugly?"
" Don't behave as if this was the first time I called you ugly."
" You are really lucky Tae Seo is around. Oh my I shouldn't have let you come over, you always spoil my reputation when others get to know I have such an ugly sis."
" Ya!! That's because I was unfortunate to come as your ugly twin. Eeshh." She said lifting an arm in an attempt to cuff my neck under it.
" Guys…guys, please we have to get this dude before he realizes his account has been hacked and that he's going to get busted." Tae's words brought us back to focus on the bigger issue at hand.
" Then what are we waiting for? Let's get going." Hoo Nan stated as she stood up and pulled me by the ear asking me to hurry and get dressed. She excused us and waited for us outside our room as we dressed up and later joined her.
" Wear your cap, it's getting brighter outside…I wouldn't want them throwing stuffs at you and saying disgusting stuffs about you either." Hoo Nan said to me as she helped me wore my cap and covered it with the hoodie's cover as well.
Tae Seo led the way and ushered us to his car and we drove off to the building.
" We're here." He said as he pulled over a few meters away from the building.
"From the information I got…he's on the third floor. We need to hurry before it's too late " Tae Seo said.
" I'll call the police and have them come here." Hoo Nan said as she brought out her phone and dialed 911.
Tae Seo and I headed for the guy's room and upon our arrival, Tae Seo disguised himself as a delivery man after he wore one of their company's cap from his bag. He already had the T-shirt on so he was technically disguised as a delivery man. He rang the doorbell for the first time but then no reply, the second time still no reply and then when he was about to ring it the forth time the door swung open and a young man walked out.
" What's your problem?"
" I'm sorry, but did you order for some boxes of T-shirts?" Tae Seo asked.
" No... Oh yeah, it was me."
How could he fall for it so easily, he was about to say no but then when he saw how Tae Seo looked like a lost delivery guy he said he was the one. He's a big liar and a thief.
"Can you sign here." Tae Seo said to him as he brought out a book but then when he was about to sign it I got out of my hiding place and pushed him into the room.
" What…what is going on here?" He shouted.
" I looked up and took a close look at him and the room. He had pictures of me all over the walls and even had some of me with him. It gave me the most creepiest shiver down my spine.
"Oh my God…" Hoo Nan said with out most shock the moment she stepped foot into the room.
The dude tried to free himself from Tae Seo's grip but then he pinned him to the floor.
" The police are on their way." Hoo Nan said to us and I smiled.
" Police? Please don't let them in here… I can't go to jail, I'm too young
I…I am sorry, I didn't mean to do what I did. I … I was just joking around." The dude apologized and I looked at him.
" You were just joking around? You've got to be kidding me. After sending my brother all those threats and posting those pictures on the internet which can ruin his life for good you are here telling us you were just joking around." Hoo Nan said with rage but then I held her hand.
" I… I will delete everything and I promise you will never hear from me again. I promise… Please don't let the police arrest me." He pleaded but then it was too late, the police had already arrived.
They saw everything on his computer and I was shocked when I realized I wasn't the first person he had done this to. The media came in and took pictures of his room and everything.
FEW DAYS LATER
The pictures were deleted from the internet and the truth came out about it being photo shopped and a lot of people went through the same thing in his hands.
How can someone live such a life?
For those so called fans of mine who were thrashing me, I won't say anything…I'll just be picky this time around. All they care about is the news they get on the media. Actually Hoo Nan and Tae Seo got really close after that incident.
" Hmmm, I can't believe someone was able to do that to my baby." Sandra said as she fed me with a tablespoon of mushroom porridge.
" The world is full of all kind of psychos and creepy people, being famous doesn't come that easily, it brings to life all the things you fear. I nearly lost my sponsors. I owe a big thanks to Tae Seo." I replied.
" You mean Hoo Nan's new bestie?" Ga In asked and I nodded.
" Here have some bread." She added feeding me with a slice of bread.
" That's all that he knows, being pampered." Hoo Nan said with a funny expression as she passed by.
" Where are you headed to?" I asked and she paused.
" Gi Tak asked me to come over."
" To their lounge?" I asked and she nodded.
"Just kidding. I'll be back soon." She replied with a grin.
" Be careful ugly duckling!"
" Take care Goblin!" She said and walked out of the room.
I was actually in their room, not their dormitory. Ga In owns a small beach house near the sea. The school is actually close to the sea if you have no idea about it. She got the beach house some few days ago, the day after that post went viral so I could hide out there and get away from the press.
The door suddenly swung open and we heard it slam, we looked towards the door and it was Hoo Nan, she was breathing heavily as if she just went running a marathon.
" Hoo Nan…what's wrong?" Sandra asked rushing to her side.
She was sweating and was out of breath that she just laid flat on the floor.
" I thought you were going to meet Gi Tak, why are you back so early and gasping for air like a marathon runner?" I asked as she gulped down the water Ga In handed over to her.
"I …I… I'm in big trouble." She said stammering a little.
" What did you do this time around?" I asked walking towards her. She stood up from the floor and sat in front of the door, supporting her hand with her knee.
" I was on my way to meet Gi Tak when I saw a lizard, those lizards that have that snake-like color, you know how much I get scared when I see one…so it was climbing up the tree I was going to pass under so I decided to throw a stone to scare it away but then…."
" Then?..."
" Then when I tried to throw the stone at it, I missed and then it ended up smashing someone's car glass…" She said with a very terrified expression. She was shivering so much that I was scared.
"Which of the glass?" I asked.
" The back part…the glass at the back." She replied.
" And did the person see you?" I asked and she nodded.
" You wouldn't believe who the owner of the car is." She said with a very sorrowful look.
" So who's the owner?" we asked with a chorus.
" Prince Tae Jun… I'm so done for!!" She cried.
" You sure are…" We all said with a chorus and she broke down in tears.
