TAKING THE BLAME

I couldn't believe it, she went crushing into a pole and now my car is spoilt.
"I didn't drive carelessly, you we're ignoring my questions when I asked you because you wore that your stupid headset and wouldn't even answer me. So don't stand here and blame me for what happened! You think you can just use me anyhow uh? I have a life of my won and instead of you asking if I'm alright…all you care about is your stupid car! You know what… I've had enough!!"She yelled at me and I was dumb folded and stared at her with disbelieve as she breathed heavily.
I was stunned and her words were striking me like lightening bolts. She breathed heavily and threw the car key at me, we were suddenly surrounded by people and I could hear the siren of a police car approached. She turned around and was about to walk away when she suddenly fell back and I caught her in time. Her hands falling over my shoulder, she had a piece of glass stuck in the flesh of her lower arm and she was bleeding. My heart began racing faster than it has ever been. Her breath ghosting over my shoulder, her heart beat wasn't normal, it was slow and I could sense she wasn't moving so I went down on my knees slowly as I held her and placed her in my arms, that was when I realized she had lost consciousness.
"Wild orchid…Hoo Nan…ya wake up already." I said shaking her but she wasn't responding and I was getting scared.
"Someone please call an ambulance! Please!!" I screamed for help and an ambulance arrived in a short period of time.
Upon arriving to the hospital, I saw the news on the television and it was viral. I didn't care about that all I cared about was that I hope she wasn't hurt internally. Her words kept ringing in my ears, how could I have been so selfish!
She was hurt and all I cared about was my "stupid car" yeah she's right, I'm a selfish person. I couldn't even ask her if she was alright because she was in the front seat, a few meters away.
I paced back and forth in front of the emergency ward, waiting for a nurse or doctor to walk out. I have no idea what I was thinking back there.
"Ummm how is she?" I asked a doctor who walked out and he sighed then looked up at me.
" Are you her guardian?" He asked
"Umm bout that…"
" Are you her guardian?" He asked again and I turned to e sure that no one was watching and whispered "yes" into his ears.
"Well there are no severe injuries. I don't know what exactly but then she was traumatized by the incident. Do you have any idea if she's been through a similar accident?" The doctor asked and I shook my head sideways.
"None that I know of…but is she going to be alright?" I asked and be smiled.
"Yes… She just needs some rest to recover and she'll be fine." He replied and was about to take his leave when I saw my mother(the Queen) walk into the hospital and the Doctor bowed to her.
"Son are you alright?" She asked and the doctor froze.
"Son?" He asked more to himself but the look of astonishment in his expressjkn6 was one no one could ignore, he turned his head and was marveled to discover that I was the Prince. He looked at me and then looked at the poster in the far end of the waiting room and then back to me, the poster actually had a picture of me wearing a doctor's uniform and with a nose mask on. That darn advertisement companies will have you do the unexpected to get high income.
"Thank you doctor!" I said waving at him and he hurried back into the ward.
" I'm alright mom…I'm perfectly fine." I replied and she heaved a sigh of relief.
"What about Hoo Nan…is she alright…she was admitted here right?" She asked and I nodded.
" Son how can you have her drive the car, you nearly lost your life. I think we should cease with her being your maid. Do you even know if she has a driver's license or not. Son I can't…"
"No mom…it was all my fault. I was the one who caused the accident." I interjected and her jaw dropped.
"Son… what do you mean by you caused the accident?"
" If only I had done what she told me to…it wouldn't have happened. I distracted her and she lost control. Please don't let it seems like she was responsible." I don't even know why I said that but then they were the words that came out when she told me to reconsider Hoo Nan being my personal assistant/maid.
" Son… I'm glad you've began to take responsibilities of your own wrong doings and faults. I'm proud of you. I think I owe this thanks to Hoo Nan." Mom said hugging me warmly.
" You should probably go back to the Castle… don't worry about Hoo Nan…the doctor said she's going to be fine and I'll make sure that she's well taken care of. "
"If you say so Son. I will take my leave now. Take care and do not stress her too much okay. I will have them deliver some more gifts." Mom said planting a kiss on both cheeks before leaving with the guards.
Hoo Nan was sent to a private ward later on. I sat next to her bed, it was tiring and I really needed to sleep. I had been yawning for hours but then I wanted to stay awake.
Why am I acting so strange all of a sudden?
"Why don't you get some sleep?" her sluggish but low tone got me up.
"Oh you're awake?" I asked with a little excitement in my voice but then I cleared my throat and went back to my cold and stiff self.
"Yeah…you don't need to watch over me while I sleep. I think you should go home and have some sleep." She said to me and I shook my head.
"Why?" She asked.
"Immediately I get home…they will all be asking about you and stuff. Besides I answered your phone calls too."
"You what?"
"Yeah, Sandra, Ga In and Yun Ki kept calling so I had to answer."
"And what did you tell them?"
"I just told them we will be spending the night together since the news of our accident was cleared so no one actually knows about it. So I just told them we will be together for the whole night."
"Oh my God I can't believe I'm listening to you right now. How can you just tell them that we will be spending the night together!"
"But it's true, aren't we spending the night together?" I asked and she yelled at me.
"Ya! Are you out of your mind…no, are you an idiot? Do you have any idea the kind of impression you just gave them?!" Where the hell did she get the strength to start shouting at me?
"Umm I don't think you should be yelling at me right now because the doctor said you needed some rest." I said and she threw one of her pillows at me and I caught it in mid air.
"See I caught it. Get some rest before you get depressed." I teased her and the look on her face was priceless.
" I'm going to kill you when I get out of here." She said with furry and I just laughed as she groaned in anger.
" Let me call the doctor and inform him that you're awake." I said with no card in the world, ignoring her furry as I walked out of the door to call the doctor.
Upon the doctor seeing how furious she had gotten, he gave her a shot and she went to sleep again.
She was discharged the next day and she was eager to go home and tell the others that I was wrong about spending the night together. I mean we did spend the night together didn't we?
I called for a cab and the driver arrived in few minutes time. I was about to open the door for the backseat when she pushed me aside and sat inside instead and when I was about to sit beside her at the backseat she pushed me out, slammed the car door and glared at me with rolling eyes.
"Why act like that after we just spent the night together." I said sitting down next to the driver at the front seat.
" Do you have any idea what you mean by saying "we spent the night together" do you?" She asked me and I just chuckled from the front seat. The driver drove on and I could hear her murmur something at the backseat, whenever our eyes met through the mirror, she would glare at me so hard that I thought her eyes were going to fall off.
" Thank you so much. You can keep the change." I said to the driver when we arrived . He nodded and thanked me before driving off.
"Here…those are your medications (threw the pack of medicines at her), make sure to take them as prescribed and do not forget to get some rest because it's needed "according" to the doctor. I would care less even if you didn't take it. Also you have two days off, today and tomorrow to get some rest and make sure to resume back to work on Friday. We've got some work to do."
" Can I go now?" she asked and I nodded.
" Well last night was great!!" I yelled and she ran off to her room. Oh it's such a delight getting under her skin. It makes me feel alive you know.
Man, I forgot to ask her about her trauma…she wouldn't have told me anyway but then if I use any of the others… I'll get her to talk and I'll get to know too.
I took a cab to the lounge and behold Gi Tak was back. Hyang was busy in the kitchen and Gi Tak was busy playing video game.
" Hey welcome back bro.. I heard you spent the night with Hoo Nan." Hyang said from the kitchen.
" You what?...with who??" Gi Tak immediately turned to me and I gulped.
" Yeah we spent the night together…but why are you so concerned when you don't even have feelings for her?" I asked chewing on an apple.
"You don't need to have feelings for someone to be concerned about them. She's my friend for crying out loud." Gi Tak snapped.
"Oh you're right though. I'm going to take a shower. Will be in my room if you need me or anything. Or… and before I leave, Gi Tak…can I ask you for a favor?"
"Sure."
"Umm it's about Hoo Nan."
"What about her?"
"The doctors said she was traumatized by the incident and there is a high possibility that there's something behind it.'
" Could it be something related to an accident or something?" Gi Tak asked sand I shrugged.
"I have no idea but can you please find out for me…I mean the doctor so he will know how to help her out of it."
" Okay sure… I'm going to help you on that but promise me something."
"And what's that?"
"That you'll give her less of a hard time."
"Oh about that… I can't promise you that."
"Ya!!" He said throwing the foamy ball in his hands at me, I dodged and headed straight to my room.
"Dinner is ready!!" Hyang called from the kitchen, we all gathered at the dinning table but then he excused himself to pack a lunch box when we heard the door bell ring.
" What's with the lunch box?" I asked.
" It's for Hoo Nan, I mean she wouldn't be in her current situation if it wasn't for our mighty Tae Jun…so the least I coulf do is give her some of her favorite food." He replied.
" You mean what we are eating right now is her favorite food?" I asked and he nodded.
" When did you know about her favorite food?"
"Since the day Gi Tak found out." He said as he headed for the door.
He returned empty handed and sat with us.
" I can't believe we are having her favorite food for dinner." I blurted out and they stared at me.
" What?"
" The last time I recall, this was "your" favorite food." Gi Tak pointed out and that was when it hit me, busted!!
" No…now it's not… I can't have this as my favorite food."
"Then I'll be glad to continue from here." Hyang said, stretching forth his hand to take my plate of food but then I took it and pulled away.
" I thought you said it's not your favorite food anymore so I will like to continue it from here." He said still trying to take the plate of food from me.
"If I said it's not my favorite food anymore it doesn't mean I won't eat it." I cried out and they both burst out laughing.
"You are so unbelievable..." They said with a chorus and returned to the food.
I bounced out of bed, took my bath and wore my favorite clothes for class. Well Gi Tak didn't have a class today so he was lying lazily on the couch as he tossed from one side to the other, crossing his leg, then throwing them on the shoulder of the couch then handing his head upside down. What is wrong with him?
" Gi Tak-ah…what's your problem…you look terrible." I said to him when I noticed how bulgy his eyes had become, he had eye sags.
"I wasn't able to sleep, I couldn't even blink a little sleep and now I'm frustrated!! I want to sleep!!" He screamed and I nearly jumped out of my skin.
"Dude you're too loud!" I snapped at him and he sat back down in the couch.
" Yeah, I've become really loud haven't I? I think I'll go see the doctor…I'll go have my bath and go see the doctor." He said standing to his feet.
" Yeah, that is a great idea. I'll see you after school and please don't forget to do what I asked of you yesterday!" I said to Gi Tak who was already a few meters away from his room.
"Okay… I will meet with her today after I return and if she's free during that time." He said sluggishly and slammed the door behind him.
I think Hyang has already left because there was no sign of him around and breakfast was already prepared. I gulped down the cup of tea and headed on out for lectures.
I parked my car at the parking lot and was about to walk out of my car when I heard some people talking nearby, I heard Hoo Nan's name and I decided to stay a little longer to listen to what they were talking about.
" I don't even know why the Prince will spend time with that cheap twerp."
" She's all over him and flirting with both brothers…she's always all over the younger Prince and now she's aiming for the crowned Prince."
" Maybe she's his mistress…Maybe the Prince is just using Yeon Ah as a cover up and is in a secret Roman relationship with Hoo Nan."
" Yeah…he spends less time with his fiancé and is always with that low class nobody. It just gives me the chills…I can't imagine the Prince with her. She's going around flirting with all the rich guys on Campus. Recently I saw her with Woo Bin, the third year student who just arrived from Canada."
That does it! I stormed out of my car and walked over to them.
"Oh…your…Your Highness." They said stammering as they bowed to show respect.
"Umm I hope you didn't hear what we…" One of the girls blurted out and another elbowed her side to make her shut it.
" Oh yeah I did hear everything. I can't believe you stand here and gossip about the two Princes of the country. Do you have any idea where you might end up if I take any action?"
"We are so sorry, Prince Young, please forgive us." They pleaded.
" But why would you all gossip here. Are you bothered about me spending time with Hoo Nan?" I asked and one of them stepped out.
" Of course we are bothered. She's been flirting with you and Gi Tak and she has the guts to go after the new boy at school too. She's got a really bad energy."
"I wouldn't argue with you on the last part but then you shouldn't just say stuffs you don't have much idea about. She isn't flirting with me and neither is she my mistress. She's just someone I like to keep around and the next time I hear any of you bad mouth me or my brother or Hoo Nan, I won't let you go freely. You speak against her…you speak against me too. I hope I'm clear." I watched as they nodded to my words and promised not to parade any false rumors. Tsk…Hoo Nan being my mistress? There's nothing about her that I find sensually appealing.
"Good…now I'll let you go this time around, the next time I hear such rumors amongst any one of you. I'll me sure to keep you mute for the rest of your lives. Before you leave, I want you girls to be my eyes and ears, if you hear anything silly on campus make sure to inform me okay." I said to them.
" We are honored your majesty…we promise to let you know if anyone tries to spread any false rumors concerning you, Gi Tak or Hoo Nan." They said with a chorus.
"Stop with the "your majesty" just call me Prince Young Tae, that will be alright."
"You may take your leave now." I said to them and they bowed before leaving.
Aish!! I'm going crazy…why am I even bothered if they said anything bad about that sassy girl.
What at all was she doing with that half Canadian new student?
I just hope Gi Tak will get her today so I'll find out about what really is bothering her. She isn't that strong after all.
I was on my way to my block when I saw her from a distance.
"Ya! Tae Jun-ah!!" She shouted my name as she came running to me.
" I'm your master and you should address me with respect." I snapped at her.
"No matured master will do what you did." She snapped back at me.
"What did I do?"
"You went around telling them we spent the night together and now it's all over campus!" She said with furry and all the students began to flood around us.
This is my chance to get back at her.
" What…but it's the truth… We spent the night together and you slept so well in my arms." I blurted out my voice velvet and gentle without a hint of regret but a smirk of mischief, all the students gasped.
"I never slept comfortably in your arms. Not even in your dreams!" she yelled at me but I chuckle.
"here take a look at it(I showed her a picture of her with her head on my shoulder) see I even have proof of it." I said to her thinking it will get her but then she spoke back.
" This is not true, I will never…"
" Just admit it Hoo Nan, see it's clear. You can't deny it that you are mine can you?" I said laughing so hard in my head. I actually took that picture at the hospital when she was fast asleep.
"You…you…" she couldn't talk and I sent my arms wrapping around her neck.
"Come on we've got to go." I said pulling her along with me ignoring the other students reaction.
"I will Kill you." She said with clenched teeth.
"Oh no you can't. This is just the beginning." I whispered to her and you should've seen the look on her face.
Ahh this feels so good.
