[3rd POV]
While Luke and Billie were off at the Dunphy household, wondering what the hell the trio was up to, they were having the time of their lives. Walking around a large mall, bags held in their hands. With even Alex having enjoyed herself after ensuring that they did something that she too would enjoy.
For her it was bookshopping.
Neither Claire or Haley had particularly cared much for the store, but had gone either way so that Alex had enjoyed her time. As neither of them wanted any of them to not enjoy this little day out together.
The fact that Alex had even agreed to go on this little shopping trip in the first place was a miracle, as she usually hated to go to stuff like this. She usually preferred to do her trips alone, or with someone that would not make fun of her for what she wanted to buy, or where she shopped.
Her uncles Mitch or Cam were both good choices for that, as neither of them ever judged her over something like that. Instead they judged her over her clothing choice, which is usually said in a joking manner, and wasn't really all that rude or anything.
In actuality they tended to offer to take her shopping for clothing, in order to improve her fashion sense, which even by her own standards she was willing to admit that her fashion sense was awful, and tended to not be a good thing for others to deal with. As she did not always take their fashion advice very kindly.
She was kind of a brat at times when it came to outside advice and all of that.
"So you're really thinking of going back into fashion design? I thought you wanted to be a singer with Billie?" Claire asked, ignoring the whispers of people as they walked by. She knew that this was the side effect of her daughter's popularity, as it would become harder and harder to walk around with her without being noticed or bothered.
Thankfully most of them were relatively chill about bothering them, and only a young girl had asked for a signature, which she had obviously given since she had asked nicely, and had only asked when they were just walking in silence. So basically she had asked when it was the perfect time. And she had even apologized afterwards too.
"I do want to keep singing, but it was never really the main thing that I had wanted to do. It's sort of a...hobby? Something to do and enjoy, make some money with, but not the main thing that I'll devote my time and energy into" Haley explained to her mother before sipping on the smoothie that she had gotten.
It was a good smoothie.
"So kind of like how I want to start doing some music with the help of your sister to help pay for my own hobbies and other dreams?" Alex asked, which got a nod in response.
"Pretty much. But I am not going to stop singing, at least, not for a while. I'll probably release my next album, do a small tour, and then go on break for a year or two in order to focus on my fashion design" Haley responded, knowing that the money she'd get from that single album and tour would be more than enough to cover her fashion design aspirations.
"Smart. I just hope you don't get out of it too soon, when you are getting so famous off of it. Not to mention the amount of money you are making" Claire said, a little worried that her switching to fashion design would be a problem.
"Trust me mom, I've got more than enough money to survive for years, and that is without the album and tour. And fashion makes a ton of money too, probably even more than my music will make me. Plus, Billie would never let something like that happen. And is already helping me invest some of my money into other areas just in case anything does happen" Haley replied, waving off her mothers concerns.
Billie had been very careful about helping her with her money. Helping her invest into companies that she knew would be huge in the future, as well as in crypto, and a couple of other areas.
Even if something did happen and she went broke, Haley would be able to live the rest of her life in relaxation by that time. As once Covid happened, that investment would absolutely skyrocket to entirely new levels of wealth.
She'd be worth tens if not hundreds of millions by that time, and that is without her merchandise, her other music, her clothes she will eventually be making, and more.
While Billie would likely be one of the richest women on the planet.
"That's...kind of her. She really helped you invest? And you trust those investments?"
"Yes mom, she really helped me invest. And yes, I trust her. There's a reason why she is so wealthy mom, and it's not just because of her music making her a lot of money" Haley replied with an eye roll, as they headed towards the exit of the mall.
They had been shopping for a long time at this point.
"Wait, how wealthy is Billie exactly? Like, I know she spends millions casually, but like...where on the totem poll is she?" Alex couldn't help but asked, very curious.
"Honestly? I have no clue. But from my understanding she is like...top 0.001% maybe? She's worth at least a billion or two at this point. And according to her, that number is going to be rising rapidly over the next few years" Haley responded, as she truly didn't know the answer to that question.
She was kind of just guessing.
"...I already knew that she was rich but hearing you mention it that causally is truly ridiculous" Claire replied blandly, knowing that Billie was worth a shit ton, but being worth over a billion was just kind of dumb.
"Yeah, you'll get used to it. The more I see what Billie does and works with, the more I realize that she is filthy rich, and will just be getting richer over the next few years. Hell, you should see her watch collection. That alone is worth more than most of our families possessions" Hlaey responded, remembering the collection of watches.
It was a collection worth tens of millions, born out of Billie's increasing love for the hobby. Just like how she loved collecting pokemon cards, and certain sports memorabilia.
But just like normal, she did her best to match every dollar she spent on watches, and invest that into charities and other areas that could help other people. That way she wouldn't feel too bad about it.
Usually it was closer to 50 cents a dollar, but it was still a ton of money. More than pretty much any other celebrity Haley could think of.
"Enough about your girlfriend and how ridiculous she is. I think it's about time we get home, as I am sure that Luke is driving her insane" Claire said, glancing at her watch, finding that they had been shopping for a lot longer than she had told Billie they would be.
Several hours more.
She was pretty sure that Phil would be home by now.
With those words, the trio began to head towards the car, all the while, Claire had only one hope in her mind.
'Hopefully Luke didn't drive her completely insane'
