2 days before
In a deserted village on the South of the Westlands, was a man and his apprentice, they were walking down the streets in sync.
"Are you sure you saw them here, Ace?" the man asked
"Affirmative" a disorientated voice replied
"Why don't we see them?"
"I don't know sir, Group B came to this village to capture the people here, they made a report, that they saw it"
"Then there is no doubt about it, it has to be here"
They continued walking down the street, passing broken-down houses, debre laying all over the village.
Then suddenly a roar fired between the houses of the village"
"Stand ready, Ace"
They rushed to there fighting positions, they stood there, waiting for any movement, tension grew in the air, then...
Boom!
A monster appeared with its jaws open, its teeth sharp like a shark, blood oozing from its saliva, they are both a snap away from dying.
"MOVE!" The man roared
They both blurred from the clenching teeth of the monster, and appeared in the air, over it.
"Ace, do your thing"
Ace took out two axes from his back, he stretched his arms as far out as he could, and blasted the axes towards the monster, hitting its core, but it didn't die.
The monster thundered with anger and stood on the direction Ace was falling, then it lunged down, breaking the ground where its feet lied, in a flash it leaped towards Ace, the monster was right on top of him, it hammer punched him towards the ground, so much that he created a crater when he landed on his back. Ace laid there groaning in pain and weakened
The monster landed on the ground.
Its mouth dripping spit, its teeth ready to snap any bones it could come across, walking towards Ace.
"You are the sole reason why I want your species powers, your strength, agility they are incredible" the man said but was nowhere to be seen
"Huh?" the monster confusingly growled, looking for where the voice come from
A huge thunderbolt cracked right Infront of the monster's face, giving it no time to react.
"But, some of you will never be a match for me" he said as his hands touched the monster's core, they were somehow inside its body
Before the monster could fight back, jagger pulled the core, and it screamed, it died slowly and painfully. The corpse fell to the ground as the scream started to fade away. The man then picked up his assistance from the ground
"I am sorry sir" (cough-cough) "I wasn't strong enough"
"I am the one who is supposed to be sorry, we were supposed to bring it alive, and I got carried away, we need to start project 59 as soon as possible, but if we keep on going on like this it won't work"
"All because I was weak, I will get stronger and I will protect you, even if it takes my life"
Back to the present
"Okay then you two, how about this? I will offer you a chance of freedom"
He smirked.
"Do you know what Berserks are?" The man asked
"Well, yeah who doesn't, they are the monsters who eat us Azonians, they have taken over the whole continent over the past years"
"Bingo, and you know what I hate the most? Some are stronger than me, and I don't like that"
"Huh? "
"How about this then, I will take off your chains and give you one week to rest and regain your mana, there is a giant wall outside, all you have to do is walk pass through it and it will take you right to the one and only giant gate where my solders will let you walk away free, Deal?"
Yuto's eyes boiled red, his veins popped out, his teeth biting on each other, huffing noise came out of his mouth like a bull.
"What kind of sick person would fall for that, this is obviously one sided, and it's just a roose to fulfil your addiction, are lives really just a sick game to you? Don't they matter?! Yuto snapped
"No, they don't" he lazily expressed "This is as generous as I can get"
"We will take it" Roid trembling but whispered on the blood bed he was on
"What? Are you crazy Roid? he is obviously lying, after all that, after you just suffered, do you really think he would just let us walk away?"
"But this is our only chance to escape Yuto" Roid's voice trembled as he spoke
"Dum ass" Yuto thought as he hits the ground with his fist
"You probably called me a dumb ass", he coughed out blood trying to laugh
"Anyways we accept" Roid replied
The man smirked
"Welcome to project No 59, you have a week to say your goodbyes, you should be happy, you finally have a way of getting out of this place, how thoughtful of me."
He grinned
A weak passed ever since that incident, Roid and Yuto are supposed to enjoy the break from mining, but they couldn't. Time stood for no man not even Roid and Yuto, they haven't spoken ever since that night. Roid has been training with his scars and the memory of that fatal night, while Yuto has been sitting on his hay, frozen like a statue. Roid came back into the barn back from morning training while the other slaves were headed to the mines.
"Yuto?" Roid called out
Yuto looked down, away from Roids eyes.
"It's been a week ever since we talked" Roid said
"Shut up" Yuto replied
Roid walked towards Yuto and sat next to him. As he too got lost in his own thoughts as they sat there.
Quite breezed through the barn
"I am not. Angry at you Roid" Yuto whispered
Roid subtly smiled, his heart felt lighter.
"But then why? Why haven't you said anything to me"
"We are going to die, Roid"
"Huh?"
"I have been thinking about this, that guy, he mentioned something about Project No.59, and how we just have to just go through the giant wall."
"Yeah?"
"You don't get it Roid, you don't just skip to number 59,"
"Huh!" his eyes widened
"We are about to be the 59th of those who have to pass through that giant wall"
"So, what happened to the other 58 people?" Roid said, his breathing become unbalanced, his eyes stretched up a bit, his stomach felt like its was going to throw up.
"Its my fault" Roid whispered
Yuto then raised up his head, a little to look at Roid closely
"Wait, why are you covered with blood?" Yuto realised
"I was training"
"WHAT?!"
"Look Yuto, I know this is all my fault, if it weren't for me, we wouldn't be here right now"
"It's not your fault; you just wanted to save someone"
"But it is, I dragged you when you saw that something was off, I was blinded by guilt and you tried to stop me"
Yuto, pulled up his hands that were finally free from the chains and he pouted Roid on the head
"Stop it, we are here now. Let's try to survive this, remember we made a promise"
"Hmm" he nodded his head
"Ohh yeah, I have been curios about the glasses you carry on your neck" Roid asked
"These? they are my Null object, I am not allowed to touch glasses, so I keep them here"
"Woah!"
"What are your Null powers?" Yuto asked Roid
"Well, I am not allowed to …."
Bang!
The door of the wooden barn broke open; soldiers ran inside with guns surrounding Yuto and Roid. The female who was injecting the liquid into Roid come through the door, with her elegant walk.
"Let's go" she said
The soldiers took them away from the barn they once called their new home, they arrived to the walls, the soldiers placed them Infront of a door, it was giant and thick as it was big as the walls, hiding a weird eerie feeling behind it,
Steps appeared behind them as a man walked with his too assistances, Roid and Yuto looked back and saw a man walking with his cup named "I am an Addict", his two-assistance walked with him in union.
"So, he is the one behind all this? The one from when we arrived first in the mines, he called himself, what again? Ohh right Yagger, he's the one who tortured me, I am going to kill that bastard" Roid thought
He kept walking menacingly, with his assistance, with an unfazed face, and lazy eyes. He stopped Infront of Roid and Yuto.
"You still remember what you have to do right?" Jagger asked
"Walk through this giant door, till we get to the end?" Roid answered
"Easy right?" jagger smiled
Roid clenched his teeth, his anger brewed inside him, his fist hard as a rock, his urge to strike Jaggers face grew as he was inches away from him.
"Let's go" Yuto said
Yuto then grabbed Roid and headed towards the big door
Jagger then smirked as the door giant door opened, scraping a path for Roid and Yuto to walk into. The ground rumbled as the doors opened.
They both walked towards the opening, and the doors started closing.
"Let project No.59 begin" Jagger said
