Chapter 10: A Choice Between Two Paths
The boxing gym was nearly empty.
A few students trained half-heartedly. Most preferred virtual strength.
Kai wrapped his hands and began punching the bag.
Each strike echoed.
Should I play the game?
He had never entered it before.
Physical training was slow. The game promised power.
But also risk.
Kai trained harder.
Sweat fell.
By nightfall, he returned home.
"You're late again," his mother said.
"Extra classes," Kai replied.
He didn't mention boxing.
Some things were better left unsaid.
