Chapter 16 - The Mutated Dachshund

Even though he possessed the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, there was technically no need to purchase One-Cut Killer: Murasame.

The effects of the two conflicted, meaning the sword wouldn't provide much additional assistance.

But he couldn't help it; he simply liked it.

As an otaku in his past life, he had adored the Teigu One-Cut Killer: Murasame.

Now that he had the chance, how could he possibly miss it?

After playing with it for a while, Kawashima Toya stared at the sharp, clear blade of Murasame and muttered, "In the original work, Akame seemed to use it to boost her strength."

"Using Murasame's curse to enhance one's own power."

"I'll try it if I get the chance in the future."

The afternoon seemed incredibly peaceful. Even when Toya activated his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to gaze at the city and the sky, he didn't detect any traces of the Evil God's aura.

"Calm on the surface, but danger lurks beneath."

Toya sighed with emotion and silently took out the ultra-high-end smartphone he had just exchanged for a full 100 Source Points from the System Shop.

Just like his otaku life in the past, he started grinding games.

[System Notice: World Commission Issued. Detected leakage of Evil God's aura. Please cleanse it promptly to avoid adverse effects.]

[Reward: 1,000 Source Points.]

Toya looked at the 5v5 MOBA match that had just started with a troubled expression, then looked back at the system commission.

"I'm sorry, teammates."

"The game is important, but the world is more important."

With that, Toya put down his phone, picked up the Demon Sword Murasame, and left decisively.

Apartment Next Door.

Gabriel, who had already transformed into a shut-in, stared blankly at her teammate named "Trash Fox" on the computer screen.

"With me, an angel of Heaven, as your support, I can definitely protect you."

If Toya could see Gabriel's screen, he would have found it incredible.

The world was so big, yet he had actually matched with Gabriel.

"Why aren't you moving?"

Unfortunately, he had chosen to go AFK right at the start.

----

A Dark Alley.

Guided by the system map, Toya arrived at a dirty, messy alleyway.

After searching for a while, he finally saw an ugly dog at the end of the alley, already infected by the Evil God's aura.

It was a dachshund. Its eyes were blood-red, filled with a terrifying, mad aura.

Although it was merely infected by the aura and not a full minion, it was no longer an ordinary creature.

An average person would stand no chance against this Evil God's pawn.

The infected dachshund slowly opened its mouth... and its head gradually split into four petal-like sections.

"Roar!"

Letting out a hiss that sounded like some kind of facehugger, the dachshund lunged fiercely at Toya.

The sight gave Toya a chill. "Disgusting thing!"

"Can't Evil Gods create something that looks a bit more normal?"

Schwing!

As he spoke, Toya drew the Demon Sword Murasame with an expressionless face and slashed the dachshund's Line of Death.

Instantly, the dachshund was sliced in two.

However, despite being cut in half, the dachshund didn't die. It continued to struggle, trying to stand up.

Its hideous, terrifying maw still radiated danger; the threat hadn't diminished just because its body was severed.

"Die."

Toya's gaze was indifferent. This time, he struck the dachshund's Point of Death directly.

The moment the Point of Death was hit, it shattered.

Even with the tenacious vitality granted by the Evil God's infection, the dachshund died instantly.

Unlike the fully transformed Aki Tomoya, the dead dachshund didn't vanish. Instead, it gradually degenerated back to its original appearance.

It was just a dachshund, cut in half.

Under the sunlight, a shiny silver dog tag on the dachshund's neck caught Toya's attention.

Toya stared at it and asked in surprise, "Sablé?"

"That dog's name sounds familiar..."

He thought about it carefully but couldn't recall specific information about this dachshund. So, he decided to ignore it, sheathed Murasame, and left.

Not long after Toya departed, a black-haired young man with eyes as rotten as a dead fish stared calmly at the dead dachshund.

"This is for the best. Turning into a monster and dying in a nameless street."

"Your owner will only think you went missing. She won't know you're dead."

Back at the Apartment.

After returning home, Toya began his life as a shut-in otaku.

It wasn't that he just wanted to play games, but rather that he had nothing else to do.

Study? He had graduated long ago. Why would he go back to high school to suffer?

As for training to get stronger, that was out of the question.

He wasn't the Caped Baldy; that kind of training method wouldn't work for him.

The only way was to work hard to complete system commissions and save up 30,000 Source Points as soon as possible to purchase the Tutelage of the Shadow Land's Queen.

Only with Shishou's teachings could his strength increase at the fastest rate.

"Magic..." Toya took one last look at the Type-Moon universe's magecraft training methods in the System Shop and shook his head slightly.

"30,000 Source Points."

"Too expensive. It's the same price as Shishou's teachings."
