Chapter 6 - The Power I Shouldn’t Have

That night, I dreamed of fire.

Not burning,but listening.

When I woke, heat pulsed beneath my skin.

Later, during breakfast, a goblet slipped from a servant's hand and shattered near Kael. Instinctively, I reached out.

The shards froze midair.

Everyone screamed.

I stared at my trembling fingers as the glass gently lowered itself to the floor.

Silence fell.

Kael rose slowly. "What kind of magic is that?"

"I don't know," I whispered.

But deep inside, memories stirred of another life, another death, another betrayal.

The court mage knelt. "Your Majesty… that power responds only to ancient bloodlines."

Kael's gaze darkened.

"Or to someone bound to a dragon."

All eyes turned to me.

And suddenly, I realized this marriage was far more dangerous than I thought.
