Titans, a class of Void Creatures that rarely appears even once in a hundred years. A feared calamity that towers above the world like an insurmountable mountain.
300 years ago, a Green Titan wreaked havoc across the continent, destroying roughly twenty percent of the land in its wake.
Thousands of Awakeners banded together, Purifiers and Corruptors alike, to slay the Void Creature before it could do any more damage. Restoration-Extinction level Awakeners numbered in the thousands alone, and hundreds of Cursed-Divine powerhouses were present as well.
The Titan proved to be too strong however, possessing many magical abilities that slaughtered these top level experts with ease. The situation escalated, calling for Saint-Supremes, the strongest Awakeners of the Purifiers and Corruptors, to step in.
In the end, the otherworldly monster was slayed at the expense of the lives of a Saint and a Supreme. A bittersweet end, especially since both the star cores of the Green Titan and that of the two Saint-Supremes had escaped, becoming Soul Windows that made a large swath of land uninhabitable.
"-I'll go deal with it myself"
Noah disappeared, leaving behind only gentle wisps of smoke. Emerald pressed a button on a listening device she wore on one ear.
"Code Black, evacuate Westridge completely. Harbinger Noah is taking over the subjugation"
-
"-Harbinger Noah is taking over the subjugation," a feminine voice said through the intercom.
A middle aged man who was wearing this headpiece broke into a cold sweat, gray winds howling through his crumpled suit and messy hair as he and his companions rested atop a tall skyscraper.
He turned to his companions, all bruised and battered as they waited with baited breath.
"The Harbinger will arrive soon to deal with the situation"
Mixed reactions could be seen on each of their faces. Some displayed fear, others seemed visually dissatisfied with this development, while a few bore distasteful looks.
Meanwhile, a smaller group huddled around two bodies.
One of them was a young woman with ordinary features, while the other was a man with freakishly long claws extending from his hands. Both of them however bore the same hole in their chest where their heart was supposed to be, along with numerous other injuries.
One of the huddled figures, a young woman of short stature wearing a leather jacket cried with bloodied hands. A skull design with the Φ symbol in both eye sockets adorned the back, the famous insignia of the Nightmare Squad.
She rubbed her childlike face with her hands, a futile attempt at wiping away her tears. Blood from her sleeve smeared across her cheeks, tears still streaming down uncontrollably. A man across from her shook his head and muttered under his breath.
"We were only able to recover 2 complete bodies…"
The middle aged man stepped forward, worry filling his face, "Leader... we have to leave now"
The young woman grit her teeth and stood up, only then revealing a severed hand that had rested on her lap, the owner of which was nowhere to be seen.
She cradled it in her arms, seemingly unwilling to let it go, "Bring the bodies of our fallen comrades, we need to give them a proper burial"
The team moved quickly, with two others carrying the bodies of their dead companions on their backs, ignoring the blood that spilled over their clothing. Collecting themselves, the group leaped off the skyscraper and away from a distant rumbling that shook the foundations of the city.
-
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A shadow towered over an urban city, drowning out the lights from the sun trying to peek over the horizon. The skies were a light gray at best, but more than enough to light up the city from a long night.
And yet the shadow loomed, blotting out the dim lights from far above, bringing back the night.
Rumble!
A Herculean hand crashed into a skyscraper, its pale and dried skin unaffected by the sharp glass and crumbling beams.
The hand looked stretched down and deformed at a distance, its full length far surpassing the length of the buildings around it as its nails dug long trenches in the concrete ground. If one were to look up, they would see an endlessly long and fleshy arm, connected to a looming shadow far above the clouds.
Boom!
A second hand crashed through an entire street of buildings, followed by another hand, and then another.
All around the city, hundreds if not thousands of hands tore through the infrastructure of the city, powerlines torn to shreds, underground pipes and tunnels exposed to the air.
Over a hundred miles away, shadows rose and condensed into the figure of Noah, solidifying above an abandoned road that led to the city. His coat billowed while his hair was swept back in the wind, his eyes glowing a purple light as he stared at the city in the distance.
Thousands of lanky arm-like tentacles rising above the clouds, connected to a lump of flesh floating in the air.
It resembled the shape of the common jellyfish. That is, if the jellyfish was dozens of miles tall with a body of flesh. Its head resembles a brain that pulsed repeatedly like a beating heart, echoing across the land and its tentacles being thousands upon thousands of elongated and deformed humanoid arms.
The monster glided silently, something uncharacteristic of a creature this size, tearing through years of infrastructure and wealth.
The Void Creature continued like this for a few more moments before it abruptly stopped dead in its tracks. Its brain-like head quivered for a second before dozens of eyes opened up all over it. Fleshy eyelids opened to reveal giant black pupils, moving erratically as if looking for something.
Noah snorted and unleashed a portion of his aura. Purple lights flashed, dying the sky a deep purple shade, dancing like the lights of the aurora borealis.
Trembling violently, the Void Creature extended its tentacles towards Noah. Extending endlessly, the creature's limbs shot forth like bullets, breaking the sound barrier with ease. A sea of arms stretched out with the intent of drowning out the source of the purple light, seemingly unstoppable.
Noah took off his glove again, his aura flaring boldly. Dying the sky a deep purple shade, he watched a sea of hands reaching for him at high speeds, merely a blur to the eyes of regular people.
Raising his right hand, the moon on his hand glowed with an unnatural light.
"Shadow Dominion: Mutilation"
A burst of purple light exploded from his hand, only to die down the next moment. It looked as if nothing happened at all as the man put down his hand.
It was at this moment that the Void Creature's tentacles reached him. The gnarly hands were outstretched, attempting to claw at his face, though the gargantuan size of the hands made it seem more like grabbing at a fly however.
And then everything froze, as if time stopped completely and only the young man remained isolated, clad in his black clothes with the wind sweeping through his hair.
One hand was merely inches from his face, close enough for him to see all the details, the contours of the skin and the cracks in the nails. He let out a sigh. the breath visible at the high altitude.
The visible vapor made contact with the hand, breaking the spell.
