Void Creatures, mysterious creatures that take on various and often gruesome forms and crawl out of cracks in space and time. These creatures are mindless and bring about wanton destruction wherever they go.
No one knows where they came from, and every expedition in attempts to crawl through the cracks were only met with failure.
Nevertheless, they were strong and neverending, often possessing differing unique abilities they were able to utilize despite their lack of intelligence.
SKREE!!
An ear piercing screech rang out, shattering windows and blowing away debris. The original skyscraper Noah had stood atop toppled, coming down like a tower of playing cards in the wind.
The members of Night Weavers each clutched their heads in pain, their auras dimming like dying fireflies as they fell down from the skies.
The monster went wild, swaying its tentacles frantically in all directions.
At least a dozen falling Awakeners were struck by the tentacles, coughing up blood as their bodies were flung through buildings, dust rising as their bodies settled.
Everyone attempted to recover themselves, but the sound attack had ruptured many eardrums and restricted their powers, making for a dangerous situation as the Void Creature readied another attack of similar magnitude.
Without warning, the red haired young man who seemed to be the leader of the Night Weavers appeared above the melted face of the monster.
His eyes blazed with flame as his transformed body bulged with muscles.
"Eat this you bastard!"
His fist descended, accompanied by a red flash and a fiery explosion.
A horrible pained cry came from the Void Creature as it flailed about. Its empty eye sockets were smoking, dripping blood that carried a putrid stench.
The young man used the momentum from his strike to propel swiftly onto the remaining shell of a nearby structure.
The rebar creaked beneath his weight, barely clinging onto structural integrity.
The young man shouted with all his strength, loud enough for even Noah and Emerald, who watched the slaughter from above, to hear without enhanced senses.
"Night Weavers! Take it down! Now!"
Dozens were able to recover their fighting spirit with the time brought by their leader. They readied their Awakened gifts, each gathering their full power.
The creature witnessed this scene through the eyes on its tentacles. It sensed life threatening potential from the tiny humans surrounding it, feeling a sense of fear.
Before the Void Creature could retaliate, dozens of Awakeners attacked with their full power, with attacks of every kind targeted at the quivering monster.
BOOM!!
Several consecutive explosions rang out, drowning out the sounds of the world.
Smoke billowed from where the monster had been struck, rising into the sky, blending into the clouds, spreading the smell of burned flesh for miles.
Seeing this, the faces of the Night Weavers lit up in joy.
"We killed it!!"
"The subjugation was a success!"
Overhead, Noah frowned in displeasure, "There is still much for them to learn"
A flash of green light disrupted the cheering. The Void Creature glowed a neon green, blinding a great majority of the Night Weavers. The few that could still see peered through the gaps in their arms and fingers, watching in horror as the monstrosity arose again.
Blood vessels branched out, twisting and mending together into fleshy limbs. The ruined tentacles recovered, this time glowing with a metallic sheen, while bodily injuries such as the one inflicted on its eye sockets melted away.
Less than 10 seconds passed, and the hard work of dozens were erased by the towering Void Creature.
Standing up from his throne, Noah reached out with his right hand once more, the palm of his hand pointing towards the creature below.
"Shadow Dominion: Shadow Garden"
His voice was soft, tired and gentle. Despite that however, the battlefield was silenced, and everything froze.
Every particle of dust, every chunk of rubble, the blood, the Awakeners, as well as the Void Creature. Everything within his "Veil" had completely ceased to move.
Then there came a flash of purple light, followed by a wail of agony that sent shockwaves out in all directions. Every window in a several mile radius was shattered, and the nearby buildings were reduced to rubble.
The Awakeners felt their bodily functions return to them. They turned to the Void Creature, watching its fate in cold sweat.
The creature writhed in pain, its tentacles flailing about as its hunched form twitched. The Awakeners watched in horror as the fleshy beast's veins suddenly glowed an unnatural purple.
The man's voice echoed once more, "Full Bloom"
His voice echoed across the veil, amplified without any effort.
The creature's mangled and melted face paused for a moment, before its fleshy maw stretched out to an impossible degree.
Out from its mouth, glowing purple flowers bloomed, their petals undisturbed by the abomination's attempts at getting rid of them. Its throat filled until no sound came out, and its veins began to glow even brighter than before.
The sound of flesh tearing apart was apparent for miles, as violet roses dug out of the beast's flesh, gouging out chunks of flesh and blood.
The Void Creature was unable to scream out in pain, unable to lash out in anger, unable to resist the absolute power that had taken over its body. It could only twitch, as more and more flowers covered its body, draining its blood, until it was buried completely.
A mountain of violet roses formed, giving off a luminescent glow as rivers of blood pooled down underneath.
Then the flowers disintegrated, with millions of glowing petals floating up into the air to create a spectacular light show that contrasted the dark domain. The creature had disappeared, and what remained were 4 blue Star Cores.
"Shadow Dominion: Grasp of Purgatory"
From thin air, shadows condensed into clawed hands that reached for the cores. Sensing danger, the cores shook and tried to fly away, but the clawed hands caught up with ease, wrapping their dark fingers around the core.
The cores shattered like glass, dispersing into the air before they could converge into a Reverberation.
He lowered his hand, his veil disintegrating to reveal the night sky in its full glory. A vibrant galaxy of multicolored stars shone overhead, the dark clouds pushed away by the veil. In a radius of dozens of miles, a ring of dark clouds formed an imposing wall around the airspace above the abandoned city.
Emerald tapped away her on her tablet, "Subjugation… complete"
A sudden flash of red interrupted her process, tinting her face a red hue. Her face visibly contorted with worry, grabbing Noah's attention.
"What is it?"
She looked up and flipped her tablet around, showcasing the faces and vitals of dozens of people, several of which were now red, their heartbeats reduced to a flat line.
"A fifth of Nightmare have fallen, the rest are currently escaping from the subjugation site"
Emerald turned the tablet back around, "The Void Creature wasn't an Aberration, it was…"
Her face paled, "Initial scans show it to be a Violet Titan…"
Noah frowned, his brow furrowing. After a moment of thought, he turned around.
"Where is it now?"
"400 miles westward, in Westridge"
He nodded, "I'll go deal with it myself"
