Like a blur of motion, Alex slammed his body into the skin crawler.
The skin crawler was sent tumbling sideways as red lighting arced around its body, it shrieked in pain, as it was struck by lightning.
Standing was Alex who winced in pain from using his body to slam into the Skin crawler, the outline of his body was coated in an orange glow and red lighting crackling around his body.
Mia opened her eyes and standing in front of her was Alex.
"You okay?" Alex asked, she couldn't say a word.
Zack felt relief wash over him, as Alex had stepped in the nick of time otherwise it would had been a different story entirely.
The thought of it made Zack clench his fist, as of right now, he was weak without an ability there is no way he could go head to head with such creatures.
The feeling of been weak to do anything, made his heart ache more.
Then from a roof another skin crawler lunged at Zack, its eyes glowing with bloodthirsty hunger and it claws stretched out for the kill.
"ZACK WATCH OUTTT!!!" Mia yelled at the top of her voice, before Zack could think of evading the attack it was too late,
But Mia's scream was amplified, her voice raising to a high pitch, it sent Sound Waves which swept through the air like a wind, surging forth towards the Skin crawler about to attack him
BANG
The sound wave slammed into the Skin Crawler, sending it crashing into a wall and the creature growled in pain.
This is Mia's awakened ability, Sound manipulation.
Zack eyes were wide with gratitude but before he opened to even say a thank you, the creature that was slammed into the wall, rushed towards him like a savage beast as it was.
"It's not even hurt at all" Zack ducked down, as the skin crawler swung both claws in an X shape manner slicing a metal pole which held a small sign, into three parts
The other skin crawler that was stunned by Alex stood up, unhurt, growled deeply and charged towards them at an astonishing speed.
Alex clenched both fists as red lighting danced around his fists, as the skin crawler charged at him and Mia
Zack rolled to the left as the skin crawler used its claw to stab the ground where his head had been.
"That was a close one" Zack looked at the spot where his head had been, his leg kicked against the broken half metal pole and he picked it up.
"this is better than having nothing" Zack held the metal pole tightly in his hand as the skin crawler struggled to release its claw stuck into the ground. With a grunt its claws were freed.
The skin crawler turned in an almost impossible way, striking its left claw at Zack who used the metal pole to block the attack.
CLANG
The metal in his hand vibrated as he blocked the attack.
(This thing is damn Strong) Zack felt his hand go numb, it felt as if he had blocked a wall, the skin crawler attacked him again seeing its attack blocked by him.
Zack could barely react to the skin crawlers attack speed, he managed to blow the attack heading for his abdomen, just barely.
Alex thrusted his fist at the skin crawler which charged at him and Mia, the skin crawler dodged his fist and used the back of its limb to hit him.
Alex brought his arms before him in defense, the skin crawlers limb slammed into him and he felt like he had been hit by a thick mold of iron, he stumbled back but still standing, his hands trembled as pain shot through his arms.
"Man, Level 3 dimensional creatures are no joke" Alex released ragged breaths as he stared at the creature.
Zack's side.
WHOOSH
The skin crawlers' claw like limb pierced the air as Zack evading in a split second, the claw of the creature grazing his cheek drawing blood along, missing his head by inches.
(That was a close call) Zack evaded to the side as he parried another attack from the skin crawler, the only thing he could do was to defend he didn't have the power to go on the offensive.
The creature outmatched him in speed and strength, it was miracle he was still holding up till now. His arms felt numb from parrying the creature's powerful strikes.
Alex and Mia's side
Mia had used her sound manipulation by screaming which increase her sound frequency, that her scream became sound waves moving like a tide towards the creature.
But it didn't slow down the skin crawler which charged at them, Alex Chest heaved in and out as exhaustion was etched on their faces, Alex's hands were already bloody from blocking the creature's attack with his bare hand
The skin crawler suddenly increased its speed in an instant and dashed towards Alex like a bullet, Alex's eyes constricted in shock as he was taken aback by the creatures sudden increase in speed.
The skin crawler slammed into Alex with its head, he coughed out a mouth full of blood as the impact connected with him.
"Argh!!" He groaned in pain as he felt the impact
(I didn't see that coming) he was sent flying away, he skidded across the hard ground for about a minute before coming to a halt. Alex's world spun around as he gritted his teeth in pain.
Before Mia could react or even run to Alex's aid, the skin crawler swung the back of its claw limb at her, there was no time for her to dodge this.
The strike connected with her head and vision went black as impact force of the attack vibrated throughout her entire skull.
The force of the strike sent her tumbling over multiple times before she came to a stop five meters from Alex who tried to lift him himself.
The creature approached an unconscious Mia, slowly like a Predator that had its prey cornered
Meanwhile Zack was drowning in exhaustion as the skin crawler attacked him nonstop, cuts were already visible on his arms and legs, as blood seeped through.
Then a slash lands on his left arm and Zack winced in pain, breaking his stance.
The Skin crawler swung its claw like fore limb in vertical slash at Zack, who while clutching his bleeding arm leaped back, the collar of his jacket was grazed by the tip of the skin crawler's claw which left a tear on the collar.
Then Zack took his eyes towards Alex and Mia only to see them in a bad state as the skin crawler approached them slowly like a beast analyzing the prey before it.
"Alex!! Mai!!" Zack called out to them but then the skin crawler attacking him leapt towards him and at the same time, the other skin crawler went for the kill, it lunged at Mia.
Time seem to slow as Zack saw the skin crawler jumping at him and the one that leapt towards an unconscious Mia, with its claws spread out wide and its opened mouth showcasing its nasty set of razor teeth that looked like a shark's teeth.
Zack gripped the metal pole in his hand, making a split-second decision.
"Just give me a break will you!!" Zack swung the metal pole with brute force, swinging with everything he got at the lunging Skin crawler who wanted him for lunch.
Bam!
The metal pole stuck the head of the skin crawler with reinforced force and its center of gravity wobbled, the skin crawler went face first into the ground, disoriented.
With wasting a second, Zack turned around and gathered all the juice he had left, he throws the metal pole towards the skin crawler which was two meters apart from reaching Mia and Alex one meter apart from reaching her as he activated his acceleration ability.
The metal pole tore through the air like a spear flying towards the Skin crawler whose claws were inches away from Mia
With overwhelming force, the metal pole collided with the head of the Skin crawler, the force of the impact threw the skin crawler off its path sending it plummeting to the floor and then rolling over, before it crashed into a lamp pole bring it down.
This sliver chance provided by Zack, was enough for Alex to grab an unconscious Mia.
"Just ru-" before Zack could finish his sentence, the other skin crawler slammed its entire body into him.
Zack's eyes dilated in shock and pain, he felt like he had been hit by car, everything became slow motion in his eyes. He coughed out a blood as the impact had surely injured his inner organs.
(Damn these hurts as hell) that was the thought that crossed his mind, as the force of the impact sent him flying.
He landed on the ground hard, Alex just stared with horror written on his face as he saw the way the skin crawler slammed its entire body at Zack.
Zack's world spun like hell, the edges of his vision was dark, he groaned in pain as the sting of pain moved round his body. His felt an intense pain in ribs, the part that took the hit most.
He tried to get on his feet, his goal: staying alive no matter what.
But the skin crawler was relentless, before Zack could even blink the creature was before him and swiping down its elongated right claw at him.
The Skin crawler stabbed him in the shoulder, piercing through.
"ARGHH!!" Zack cried out in pain, but still this wasn't enough, the skin crawler lifted him up with its claw still in his shoulder.
"ARGHHHHHH!!!" this time Zack's voice was filled with pure pain and the cry of agony, the searing hot pain that flowed through him was unbearable. Blood dripping endlessly from the wound.
Zack was tossed like a rag doll over the ground, Zack rolled over non-stop his face kissing the floor multiple times as he tumbled like a doll for two minutes before he stopped, his face was now bruised and filled with cuts
Meanwhile the other skin crawler, the cracks in its body glowed a crimson red light as it gathered a crimson orb the size of a man's hand and released it.
The attack flew towards Alex who held an unconscious Mia, with her in his arms he leaped away.
BOOM!
The attack landed on the spot they had been, dust and stone were sent flying into the air. But the shockwave from the blast, knocked both of them away.
Both Alex and Mia laid unconscious on the floor, Alex tried to keep his eyes open as he lay on the ground unable to move. They both were battered and bruised.
Zack tried to be on his feet but he couldn't, the pain he felt flooded his memory, the ache in bones, his world became blurred as the skin crawlers approached them slowly.
"So, this is how it ends for us" Zack looking at the approaching skin crawlers.
"After everything, here am I, no ability and now am gonna die by becoming lunch for Skin crawlers" Zack muttered to himself as he clenched his bloodied hands.
'if everything had just gone smooth, I won't be here maybe if we weren't kicked out of the Lyon house maybe my story would be different' emotions welled up in his eyes.
Then he looked to Alex and an unconscious Mia who lay on the ground, death was knocking at the door.
"God, anyone, someone just save them, they still have a bright future ahead of them, please anyone, God even if it's just a miracle" Zack gripped a red pendent he wore around his neck with his bloodied hands., the pendent was made of a crystal material and its shape was like a fan
He thought about everything, his life his expectations, his dreams, his mother and sister the smile on Alex and Mia faces who were going to die. Zack clutched the pendent tightly as above in the sky cyclone choppers blazed forward.
"God even if am to go but not like this!! At Least let me go out With a Bang in Style!! Not this way Lord, I Refuse to DIE THIS WAY!!" He yelled and then at moment.
