Chapter 7 — system Reward
While Jade rested her head against my shoulder, my thoughts wouldn't just calm down.
I had wanted her. That was true.
But seeing her cry like that made my chest feel heavy.
This wasn't some casual thing I could laugh about later.
I had crossed a line I couldn't walk back from.
I did this. I was part of this. I don't get to run away from it.
I looked at her face. She trusted me right now, even if she was confused.
That trust felt heavier than anything.
I need to handle this right. No games, No bragging, No treating her like some sort of achievement.
The warmth of her body was still there, and my desire hadn't fully faded, but I forced myself to push those thoughts down.

She needs peace, not more pressure.
For the first time, responsibility didn't feel like some empty word adults always used. It felt real.

Jade slowly pulled back a little, but she didn't let go completely.
Her eyes were red, and her cheeks were still wet.
"I don't want rumors spreading about," she said
"I don't want people talking about me. I don't want anyone to know about any of this."
"Nothing leaves this room," I said.
"No one will hear it from me."
She nodded once and took a slow breath. She stared at her hands quietly.
"I don't even understand why I acted like that," she said. "I always control myself. I always think before I do anything. But today… I couldn't."
She went silent for a moment, then continued:
"I still remember everything. I still made those choices. And That's what scares me."
Her voice was tired.
After a pause, she looked at me again.
"Are you going to avoid me at school? Be honest."
"No," I said. "I'll talk to you normally. I won't pretend you don't exist. I won't act like nothing happened. I meant it when I said I'll take responsibility."
She studied my face, like she was testing whether she could rely on me.
"Okay," she said softly. "Then don't make me regret trusting you."
"I won't."
Her shoulders slowly relaxed. The shaking in her hands stopped.
She wiped her face and let out a long breath.
"I need time to think," she said.
"My head is messy. I'm not angry. I'm not sure what I feel. I just need to sort it out."
"That's fine. Take your time."
She nodded and moved closer again, resting against me. Her tears soaked into my chest.
I didn't say anything. I just held her while her breathing steadied.
After a while, she spoke again.
"Everyone expects me to be perfect," she said quietly.
"Perfect grades, perfect behavior, perfect image. I'm supposed to act like nothing ever bothers me. But right now, I don't even recognize myself."
"You don't have to act like that with me," I said.
She looked at me with red puffy eyes, her expression open and honest.
"Alex," she whispered. "Don't disappear after this. Don't pretend it never happened tomorrow..."
"I won't. I'm here."
She nodded and rested her head on my shoulder.
The cold, distant image she showed everyone else was gone.
Right now, she wasn't the campus goddess.
She was just Jade.
After a few quiet minutes, she slowly sat up. Her legs trembled a little as she stood.
She took a careful step, then another. Her balance wobbled and she steadied herself with a hand on the wall, cheeks flushing.
"I'm okay," she murmured, more to herself than to me.
She fixed her clothes, took a deep breath, and headed to the door. Before leaving, she looked back at me.
"Remember what you said," she whispered.
"I will."
She nodded once and left, walking out with a slight limp.
The door clicked shut.
Silence fell.
