The next day, I woke up and checked the headlines. And, oh boy, it was trending - "A woman tries to secure Mister Raymond". But the most funny thing is that she called the press and acted pitifully, saying she just wanted to talk to him because they were once lovers.
The internet blew up! People were talking about how they were lovers, and she started going on about their past. She said, "I just wanted to see him once more to tell him how I miss him."
She said she didn't expect him to be married, and when she accidentally fell, he didn't catch her... "Maybe it's because of his wife, he's afraid of her." And people started calling me "petty".
I laughed to myself, saying I don't care. Thank God I was on top of things (with makeup, haha), if not I wouldn't be able to handle it. And today is my day of work - I'm going to my new location!
Chris' POV:
When I saw the nonsense that this girl said to the media, I was enraged. Does she think she had me wrapped around her finger? That she could do anything and I'd forgive her for that? Who does she think she is? Doesn't she fear backlash? How dare she?
I was thinking of what I would do when I heard laughter upstairs and went up to see what was going on. I saw that my wife was laughing at the news I was like, "What's so funny about it?"
"You know I see that," she said. "I wonder if you were blind when you dated this lady in the first place."
Enraged, I said. "What do you mean I was blind?"
"Yes, you were blind," she said, "because her action is so pathetic."
And I was like...oh mine. This girl wants me to die of anger, but I won't. And I left for work.
So I went to work, and arriving at my company, I saw a crowd of reporters. When they saw my car, they quickly rushed towards it, but the bodyguard of the company blocked them and made way for me to head inside the company.
I was walking, and they were trying to push through the bodyguard, but I was hearing a question: "Mister, is it true? Why did you let her fall? Is it because your wife is going to be angry? But you shouldn't have treated a woman like that....." blah blah blah. But I ignored them.
I went to my company, then I ordered my assistant to let the PR team bring down the stupid news of us being in relationship, treating her unfairly.
Within a minute, all those stupid headlines on the news disappeared and were brought down, and I was happy. My mood relieved a little bit.
Then my assistant came to me and told me that the new jewelry director had now resumed work, and I said okay. He told me that she was here to submit... her documents.
And when the jewelry director came in, I was shocked - it was my wife! I wanted to see what she was doing here. She was also shocked, but she gave me a look.
I told my assistant to leave, and I asked her, "Why are you here? What are you doing here?
" This is my new location. How come you are the boss?" she asked
And I was like, "Oh, so you're the one posted to my headquarters?"
The talented jewelry director" I said mockingly, she annoyed me in the morning. Me too, I will pay her back in this company.
"Yes, I'm a jewelry director, so hold it there..... monkey! I wonder how I'm even posted here. If they post me to the sub-branches, it is okay, I don't know, maybe your headquarters needs me, that's why you're came to my branch," she said, also taunting me.
I wanted to explode, calm down, because I know as far as I'm away in this company, I have many ways to teach her a lesson.
So I ignored her and told her that as long as we are here, nobody must know that we are married. She said
"that's what I wanted to say" . In this office, we are not husband and wife, we are boss and employee.
"Listen, I agreed. Because if you're husband and wife, will you be able to do the job at all? and others will think you are not capable, that I gave you the position" I said, to her and saw her nodding in agreement. Then,I told her that my assistants will take her to her office and will give her the task she will do. And I smiled evilly in my mind, "Your first day, this task is gonna make you late." Since she likes arriving late , remembering when she came late because she didn't want to cook for me.
