Lisa's POV
I was chatting with my friends when I saw the person I least expected, the person I broke up with, the person I rejected for a rich guy... the rich guy who turned out to be a fraud. Later on, I regretted it. I regret it, but I don't regret choosing wealth. What I regret is I didn't believe he would become rich and powerful.
So I approached him and said "Hi, Chris"... and I also saw him wrap his hand around a woman next to him. I asked, "Who's this woman?" He said, "It's my beloved wife." And I was shocked. Did he forget me easily? I could remember how he begged me not to leave, how his parents... how they begged me. How could he move on so easily? Am I that forgotten, boo?
I said, "Oh, I didn't know... what are you doing at this party?" He also asked me what I was doing at the party. I said, "I'm accompanying a friend." He said mockingly, "Or chasing a rich guy?"
I thought, wow, he hasn't forgotten me, right? Since he was able to remember that I liked rich guys more than him...
But then the host called him to the podium. I was shocked – was he that rich? Was he that powerful?
Standing there shocked while he led his wife to the podium, my friend approached me and said, "How do you know that guy?" "Which guy?" "The guy that just left now." "Who is he?" "He's the richest guy in this country – Mister Raymond."
And I was shocked. So the person I had wondered about later became someone strong and powerful...
"He was my ex-boyfriend." "Wow, ex-boyfriend... at least you have a special place in his heart. You can fight for him back." "I wish I could." "You could try, but I think he still has feelings for you," she suggested.
And I watched him as he passed out his speech fluently like someone capable... and I said that if I was able to wrap him around my finger before, I'll be able to do it again. As for his wife, she'll be the first... and I will be the legal one 😈
I thought to myself with determination.
Mary's POV
As Chris walked to the podium, I looked back and saw how that woman has been staring at my husband... as she determined to get him. She might be someone from his past relationship or someone crushing on him... Hm, maybe I could team up with her so they could marry each other and I'll be free .
Then Chris and I approached the podium. Chris passed his message, we were clapped... so the real guests we were looking for have arrived. We went to the room to greet him – it was the old man and his wife. We greeted him lightly... "Wow, Chris, I didn't know you got a very capable and special wife. You are lucky."
So yes, he locked his hand upon me... "Better be, because I was forcefully married in the first place," I thought to myself ?
So the man said, "Now i have seen you and knows that you have a good wife and a good wife... influence husband... i can trust Chris with the project." And Chris was glad. They signed the contract there.
While i and the older woman were chatting like we have known each other for ages, she asked for many tips and i gladly told her tips for headache outcomes and so on.
When they were done, he walked up to me and the older, mrs Emma said she'd like to see me again. i said "sure, but I will be resuming work next week... but you can have my contract. i extend it... and we said goodbye to each other and left.
As we stepped out of the room to the party,
I watched as that woman approached Chris again, trying to plead with him. "Chris, we are still friends, right?" I saw Chris's face – firm rejection. "No, we are not."
The woman didn't give up. "But can I have your number?" Chris was clear, "No. Doesn't have any connection with her, so why?"
She pushed, "Chris, please hear me out... I was threatening... please, I will tell you when we meet." Chris wasn't having it.
I was watching this drama unfold, thinking, "Good for him." As they walked away, the woman seemed desperate... looked like she called reporters... she tripped like she wanna fall...
But Chris dodged like a pro and called out to me, "Wife, where are you? Wait, why you hurrying?"
The woman ended up making herself a news piece that night... something about trying to get Mister Raymond's attention...
I smiled to myself. Guess she's got her own drama now.
