"Now let me give you a few tips on how to live a good life in the academy", sir golem warlord spoke in a cool voice.
Jack nodded with excitement, "So what about the academy, what do they do and what does it look like?"
Sir golem warlord chuckled lightly, "to put it simply, the academy is a battlefield where you can soar and also perish".
sir golem warlord's tone turned a bit cold as he spoke, both circumstances are prevalent in the academy, even the so-called prodigies are not spared on the academic battlefield. Still, if you understand yourself and know your capabilities, then survival is possible but not guaranteed since the academy is made to make you feel threatened even when you are the best.
Jack gulped; he knew the academy was not a playing ground, but now he was being told that the academy is nothing but a battlefield where life and death are rivals with equal potential.
Let me let you in on a little secret, golem warlord chuckled upon seeing the expression on Jack's face, he leaned closer to jack as if he didn't want the wind to eavesdrop on his words, "I really hate going to school".
"Really", Jack's eyes widened in excitement, he wasn't alone in his concept and hatred for school, "me too, I hate going to school".
"Ahh, that's nice to hear, sir golem warlord laughed out loud", "it's sweet to add someone I like to this little collection, welcome to the school haters squad", they both bumped fist and laughed.
Jack felt so relaxed and happy here being with the warrior that he didn't even want to go home, it was an extremely rare occurrence for a newly awakened to come in contact with a level 50 awakened let alone have a carefree conversation like this so Jack felt the need to enjoy and elongate the moment while it lasted.
"Anytime I say it to my mother's ears that I hate going to school, she would always frown and scold me seriously", Jack sighed lazily.
"Boy you are not the only one there, my dad always punished me whenever he finds out I skipped school, or even jokingly even say I don't want to go to school".
"That's really cold", Jack replied.
"You know what's funny ?".
"Nope".
"No matter how discreet I am at skipping school my dad always finds out". "Do you know why ?".
"Maybe because he knows a couple of teachers at the school", Jack shrugged.
"If you know who he is then that would be an extremely normal thing".
"Then I should ask who your father is ?" Jack leans forward slightly in anticipation.
"That's simple cause my dad is the leader of the family," Sir golem warlord replied.
It felt as if the wind steered as sir golem warlord mentioned who his father was. Jack blinked a couple of times as if trying to absorb what he had just heard, then he exploded.
"What, are you kidding me, please can you repeat who your father is ?" Jack spat these questions out almost at the same time making sir golem warlord laugh out loud.
"Hey, boy, relax, don't choke on your saliva because I said my father is the head of our family".
"What, you are saying the head of the Jason family, an entity at level 93, is your father, and you still dare to skip school when you are certain he is going to find out, seriously, I have to admit, sir, you've got guts", Jack admired.
"Yeah you too see it , that's what I consider funny about the matter", sir golem warlord chuckled.
"Your hatred for school, does it apply to the Awaken Academy?" Jack asked.
"Of course it does, but the hatred I feel for the Awaken Academy is minimal compared to basic school".
Jack tilted his head in confusion, " what's there to hate about the Awaken Academy, I mean, it's nicer, you learn more about your abilities and other stuff, unlike basic school where you have to always think about writing exams and worry about grades".
"Boy, you don't know anything, in the academy, do you think they just teach you about your armor and other abilities for the years you are going to spend there?".
Jack scratches his head awkwardly, "Yeah, I know that we would be doing some other stuff, but I don't know what".
"Boy in the academy, you must register a specific number of courses from the list of courses you are given in the academy, and there are exams for each chosen course, which you must pass with fixed points to be promoted to the next year".
Jack's smile gradually faded into a sober expression. One of the things that made him hate school was exams; if students were allowed to go to school and be promoted to the next class without exams, then Jack may have loved going to school.
Golem warlord suddenly busted out laughing, "Boy I never thought you hated exam's this much, like did you see the way your expression changed?".
"Exams are not the only problems there in the academy, there are competitions, hatred, tournaments, stress, any situation you've ever come across can surely happen in the academy".
Listening to all these, Jack's fist clenched instinctively, he had always known that the academy wasn't for the weak. From the beginning he didn't plan to be weak; his goal was to become strong enough to protect his family and have whatever he desired. This was his goal.
"Slowly drowning in his thoughts a hand suddenly but gently clamped his shoulder, boy there is no need to stress or panic, I have seen what you can do , your bravery is enough to put you among pros but bravery alone can't do a complete job, talent and hard work matters and someone like you surely got the talent and the hard work is up to you".
"Thank...thank you", he stammered lightly.
"No need to thank me for just telling you about what you already have, but I have some advice for you".
Jack nodded, "I'm all ears".
"When you get to the academy, I want you to focus on one thing and one thing alone which is to keep a low profile, enhance and focus on your cultivation, at the academy there are several eyes from every clans , organizations , sects and many other establishment and settings all trying to poach and draw talented students."
"I want you to focus on your cultivation". Do not compete unnecessarily, even if your talent can put you at the top of the class. Be like a crouching dragon and lay low when you have completed your years in the academy, then you can then focus on your next course of action.
Jack, who wore a serious expression on his face nodded slowly, "I understand".
"Good, I have a task for you and I want you to complete it within two days".
Jack, not knowing what the task was going to be, decided to give the best answer he could come up with, "if it's within my capabilities, I will surely complete it".
"It's a simple task, I want you to break through to level 1 within two days, which is today and tomorrow", sir golem warlord said with a serious expression.
"Break...break through to level 1 in just two days", Jack felt conflicted and uncertain, he wasn't sure if he could pull that off, "I...I will try my best to complete it".
"No", sir golem warlord said firmly, "I don't want you to do your best, I want you to pull it off , is that clear?".
"Jack clenching his fists tightly and he nods, I will break through to level 1 within two days".
"Good, that's what I like to hear, you already have a cheat code that would hasten your breakthrough, so just push for it".
Jack was surprised at the word cheat code, where did he get the cheat code from? He himself didn't even know about it.
"I see you are wondering what the cheat code is", golem warlord chuckled, looking at Jack nodding intensely.
"The cheat code is simple, it's just pressure".
"Pressure", Jack tilted his head lightly in confusion.
"Do you know that pressure coming from something stronger may help you push for a breakthrough".
"Wait, are you saying the pressure I endured from the warriors may help me push for a breakthrough?", Jack asked in amusement.
"Yes, you are right". "Pressure can help, and it can also cause irreversible damages". "You don't have to worry about that, as the medicine I gave you would have already helped with the problem, so just focus on the task I gave you".
"Alright, it's time for you to go home before your mother gets worried. If you have any question we can discuss that on our way back to your house".
"Alright", Jack stood up a bit reluctantly, "but can I see your face ?".
