I sat across from father in his study.He took a deep breath and let out a sigh saying,"Last night,after you left, I thought about it and you were right.Two days from now, you will be wed to the vampire prince." My heart sank to my stomach. Although I put on a brave front, a part of me was scared. "Thank you, Father" I replied.
When I reached my room, Oliver and Acarcia were there. Acarcia hugged me the moment she saw me and said, "You didn't have to do this, you know. Father could have easily gotten her back."
"Yes, but that would have taken too long.The people wouldn't have survived another year of war. The wedding will take place two days from now."
"I have something for you".She released me and gave something wrapped in a box. This was the gift I meant to give Nate. He had nagged me about a spell book for a while before I decided to give him one as a birthday gift.
"I just wanted to give it back since…".Her voice trailed off. A knock sounded on the door. "Listen, I have to go.See you later okay"
"Bye"."Come in". Oliver the boy came in through the door wearing new clothes and looking better than last night."How are you doing today?" I asked.

"No need.So what do you want to do now?"

"That's okay.You can stay for as long as you like and we could bring your mother here and treat her illness." His face brightened up at my words.

I nodded then he continued, "Is it true that you're getting married to a vampire?"
"Yes. Where did you hear that from?"
"I just overheard some people talking about it"

This was going to be one of my last days in this kingdom so I was going to spend it like how I was wanted to. First,Oliver and I went to my favorite bakery and ordered a few pastries.
News had gotten around fast about the peace deal between Ashtérià and Vrykol.The people were celebrating the end of this 17 year long war. Second, Oliver bought a bunch of toys to take with him.I was glad to be able to do one last thing for my people before leaving forever.
Finally, we went to pick up Oliver's mother. They lived in one of the dirtiest parts of Ananse, in a shabby little run-down house. No wonder his mom was sick. A foul stench assaulted our senses the moment we stepped through the door. Lying in the middle of the room, was a body belonging to Oliver's mother. She seemed to have passed out. He immediately rushed to her side.Tears were running down his cheeks as I hugged Oliver, trying my best to console him.
