Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 : The old library

On sunday to The Old Library .

The Bus Stand

Yagami stood near the bus stand, checking his watch again and again.

"Man… it's been so long. Where is he?" he muttered.

"I'm sure I shared the correct location…"

Just then, he noticed a long-haired boy walking toward him from a distance.

Yagami's face instantly brightened. He raised his hand and waved.

"Yo, Saino!"

Saino walked up to him silently, his hands inside his pockets. Without saying much, the two of them started walking side by side along the road toward the old library.

While walking, Yagami spoke with a childish grin.

"Hey, I think we can read a lot of free books there!"

Saino replied calmly, without changing his expression.

"No. I'm not looking for free books. I want to buy a real masterpiece."

Yagami blinked, slightly surprised.

"Oh… okay then."

📚 The Old Library

After a few minutes, they reached the library.

The moment they stepped inside, both of them stopped.

The place was completely empty.

Dust covered almost everything. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling like abandoned threads of time. The air felt heavy and still, as if no one had visited in years.

Yagami looked around and frowned.

"I think the owner is REALLY lazy," he said.

"He doesn't clean anything here."

Then he turned toward Saino with confidence.

"Don't worry. I know your taste in books. I'll definitely find a masterpiece for you!"

With that, Yagami ran toward the shelves, excited.

Saino walked deeper into the library alone, slowly scanning book after book.

History. Philosophy. Science.

None of them interested him.

Then—

Something caught his eye.

Under the side of an old table, deep inside the library, a dusty book lay almost hidden from sight.

Saino stopped.

"…This one might be different."

He bent down, picked it up, wiped the dust away, and opened it.

The book had only 25 pages.

Out of those 25 pages, only one page had writing.

All the others were completely blank.

Saino frowned slightly.

"Only one page…? Why?"

He focused on the written page.

A single mathematical equation was written there.

At first glance, it looked simple.

But the moment he examined it carefully, his calm expression changed.

"This equation… something is wrong."

He tried solving it in his mind.

Once.

Twice.

Again and again.

No answer.

A brief memory flashed through his mind—

A young boy with long black hair, easily solving university-level problems, shocking adults around him.

Proof of his genius.

"If something this simple is unsolvable…" Saino thought,

"…then it isn't simple at all."

His grip on the book tightened.

Just then, Yagami suddenly appeared beside him, holding another book.

"Yo, Saino! Look! I found a historical book. It's actually interesting. Want this one?"

Saino shook his head.

"No. I already found the masterpiece I needed."

Yagami blinked.

"Oh… okay then."

💰 The Price

They both walked toward the counter.

The shopkeeper—an old, tall man with a strange, mysterious aura—lifted his eyes when Saino spoke.

"Sir, I want to buy this book. What's the price?"

The old man took the book, examined it carefully, then smiled faintly.

"Ohh… this book," he said.

"It's older than even me. Probably from my grandfather's time."

He paused.

"So of course… it's expensive."

"Five thousand rupees."

Inside his head, Yagami screamed:

NOW I understand why nobody comes here!

Out loud, he snapped angrily, trying to control himself.

"You're charging crazy prices! Do you think we're fools?!"

Before he could say more, Saino calmly took out money from his pocket and placed the full amount on the counter.

Yagami froze.

"SAINO?! Are you crazy?!" he shouted.

"How can you waste money like this?! This book has barely 20—maybe 25 pages! Why would you—"

Saino interrupted him calmly.

"Don't worry. I bought a good book."

Yagami stared at the book again, completely confused.

Good book? This tiny thing?

Only Saino would say that.

Separate Ways

After leaving the library, they talked for a few more minutes, then walked in different directions toward their homes.

Yagami walked alone on the empty Sunday road, his hands behind his head.

He sighed.

"Man… Saino wastes money too easily. Five thousand for a book like that…"

"He's crazy… but that's why he's Saino."

He smirked—

Then suddenly, a low voice echoed from a dark, narrow alley nearby.

The area was completely silent.

No vehicles. No people.

After walking a little more, Yagami heard loud voices coming from inside the alley.

He stopped.

He tilted his head slightly and listened.

Inside the Alley

An angry man shouted:

"I don't understand! A long-haired schoolboy defeated ALL of you in seconds!

You useless idiots!"

One of the men replied nervously.

These were the same three men who had been beaten earlier—

their arms, legs, and faces wrapped in bandages.

"Bhai… hum log thoda zyada drink kiye the," he said.

"Isliye use lightly le liya…"

The leader punched him hard. The man fell to the ground.

The other two trembled.

The leader stepped on the fallen man's face.

"Stop lying. That boy always uses this road," he growled.

"Today, we wait.

Today… we break him."

The other gang members laughed.

One of them said with an evil grin,

"Boss, mujhe lagta hai in bewakoofon se kuch nahi hoga.

Hame inhe gang se nikal dena chahiye.

Aur wo lambe baalon wala ladka… chinta mat karo.

Kal pakka yahin se jayega."

Yagami Steps In

The moment Yagami heard "long-haired schoolboy", his smile disappeared.

Something cold filled his eyes.

Then—

He walked into the alley.

A cheerful smile returned to his face.

But it was wrong.

"Hello, friends," Yagami said lightly.

"Are you talking about a long-haired schoolboy?

I think I can help you."

The gang members turned toward him, confused and suspicious.

One of them shouted,

"Tu hamari baate sun raha tha?

Lagta hai tu use jaanta hai. Bata—warna—"

Another man moved forward and punched Yagami.

Yagami didn't react.

His smile twisted.

A smile that didn't belong to a normal human.

Memory

A past scene flashed—

A small white-haired boy, protected by his mother, while dark shadows threw stones at her.

Then—

That same boy, crying alone under a tree in a park.

Then—

A long-haired boy appeared… and extended his hand.

Absolute Destruction

THUD.

CRACK.

PUNCH.

SCREAM.

Silence.

The alley floor was covered with bodies.

Twenty men lay scattered everywhere.

Broken arms.

Twisted legs.

Blood.

Teeth on the ground.

Nineteen were unconscious.

Only the leader was barely awake.

Yagami crouched beside him.

His smile was gone.

His face was pure, terrifying calmness.

"Oh… you're still conscious?" Yagami said softly.

"Good."

He punched the leader once.

CRACK.

The man fainted instantly.

Blood splattered across Yagami's face and clothes.

Yagami stood up.

"If you try to touch him," he said coldly,

"I will finish you."

Then—

His innocent smile returned.

"Oh no… looks like I beat you guys a bit too much."

He yawned and walked away.

Like nothing happened.

Like he didn't just destroy twenty grown men alone.

On the dark road, Yagami vanished.
