Chapter 14 - Closed fist

Rose understood the meaning of the nightmare and was terrified.

She couldn't touch anything. All she did was sit on the floor and cover her ears because when she did that, she couldn't hear anything, and that comforted her. Rose was sad and scared; she no longer felt happy. Night fell, and Rose remained the same. Rose thought that if she got rid of the mark, this would disappear. She rushed to the bathroom, ignoring every sound she heard because she thought she was getting rid of it. She turned on the tap and started scrubbing it with water, wanting it to disappear, but she couldn't. She tried the soap, but it didn't work either.

Rose returned to her room, disappointed, and went back to the same state she was in. Her parents came home from work and were worried about Rose, so they rushed over and knocked on her door. "Rose, open the door! What's wrong?" they said.

Rose opened the door and this time used her left hand to hide the pain, but the sensation didn't go away. "I'm sure I can only feel it in my right hand," she said.

Rose answered, "No, Dad, I'm not having the nightmare anymore. I feel fine now." Her parents hugged Rose and said, "Don't worry, Rose, we're here for you." Rose replied with a faint smile, "Of course." They also said, "We love you, Rose." Rose answered sadly, "Yes, and I do too." Her mother asked, "Rose, have you eaten?" Rose lied and answered, "Yes, I ate when you went to work."

Her mother said, "This morning, when you went to your room, I didn't want to force you to eat. We were afraid you'd be upset with us, but it's comforting that you're eating." Her father said, "We came home late today, and your mother is probably tired from preparing food. Let's go to a restaurant and eat something delicious."

Rose said dryly, "You go. I'm full."

Her mother said, "Rose, listen to your parents and let's go." Rose said, "But Mom..." Her mother said, "Come on, Rose, get ready." Rose replied, "Yes, okay."

Rose reached for her left hand, but the terrifying feeling didn't go away. Rose thought, "What should I do?" How can I get rid of this?! An idea came to her mind, and she said, "I think I can wear gloves; perhaps they will rid me of this feeling." Rose went with her parents to the restaurant, put her right hand in her pocket, closed it, and used her left hand. When she closed her right hand, Rose noticed that she no longer felt that's
