Chapter 2 - With Awaking, Comes Seeing!

The boy yelled in pain or at least tried to. He couldn't move an inch due to pain sending his body into shock. The reason being? Well the reason for that is because for the first time in a long time, to the point where the boy has forgotten about having them, all the boy senses came back to him at once and due to not having them in the span of time, they came back hypersensitive. To the point where a gentle breeze a thousands of miles away was enough to make the boy's eardrums feel like brushing cause of how loud it is. Where even if the boy was put in a cave in the ocean depths, the light coming from the sun would burn his eyes. The boy even swore that he could smell the sun burning hydrogen if he could get used to it as his nose felt like it was on fire due to being hypersensitive. And whatever was licking the blood coming out of his nose wasn't helping as even if the boy knew it wasn't true, the smooth tongue licking him felt like it was ripping his sk- wait tongue?

The boy finally snapped out of it and started to realize something. Something he wanted for a long time. He could finally see, feel, smell, hear, and taste. Something he couldn't do wherever he found himself after he died on earth. You might be thinking, "How about the lights and the sounds they produced? Isn't that a contradiction?". Well the boy really didn't see or hear anything. All his senses seemed to have disappeared, merged or something crazy because whenever something the boy senses where supposed to do something, the boy didn't feel it. The information was sent straight to his brain, skipping the experience and appearing as a memory. The boy could tell you about it but for the life of him, couldn't tell you how it felt. The best way to describe what that place felt like was as if he was dreaming. But now, the boy could feel everything that's happening, a little too way right now, meaning only one thing could have happened. The boy was free from that place.

"YEs, YeS, yES, FiNALlY iM FrEE!" the boy screamed at the top of his lungs. His voice came out distorted due to not being able to use them for a while.

"Oh better whisper for now, that kinda hurt my throat, but hey at least the pain for my senses going haywire is going down" he spoke in a hushed voice.

He still couldn't open his eyes but everything else was fine if we ignore the headache the boy was feeling. But in a couple of minutes, everything should be fine and working, the boy guessed. With that out of the way the boy could point out the elephant in the room, whatever greedy creature was on him still was licking his blood and hasn't finished even though the blood was gone and now that the boy was no longer in pain, he could feel that either the creature had double limbs and tongue, or there two of them. Also they were never licking his nose but his mouth instead.

"Hmmm, it kinda feels nice like getting kisses from the angels but still, I should stop them, who knows what type of side effects or disease they might have" and so the boy, done with his thoughts, grabbed the creature.

The creature tried to escape the boy's grasp but it was too late as it was too focused on the licking to notice the boy's hand shadow growing in size as it got closer. It squirmed in his hands trying to escape but to no avail, finally giving up to its fate. The creature seemed to be as big as a chicken but with fur as soft as a chinchilla. It had a tail and two bumps on its back but despite remembering 8 pairs of legs, the creature only had 4.

"VERY STRANGE COULD'VE SWORN YOU HAD MORE LEGS" the boy yelled. "Whoops didn't mean to yell, still getting used to talking little fella" the boy tried to explain to the creature but it seemed to not understand as it started to make the cutest sound the boy had heard. The sound was very similar to that of a baby alligator calling out to its mother.

"Aww, poor baby, scared the precious little thing, don't worry I won't eat ya" the boy said while giving what he thought was a friendly smile but it didn't seem to help as the creature's cute little grunts got louder.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'll put you down just don't cry". As soon as the words came out his mouth the boy started to put the creature down but as soon as he was starting to move, something bit his arm and it was the creature in his arms. It was not enough to rip a chuck of skin off but it still hurts regardless.

"Ow, you son of a gun! When I get my hands on you, I promise I'm gonna beat the life out of you!". The boy looked around but forgot his eyes still hadn't gotten used to the brightness so he was still blinded. So instead of trying to fight something he can't see, he ran.

He stumbled a couple of times and almost tripped but found his balance for the sake of not crushing the creature in his arms. "Dang if only I hadn't messed around with this precious little thing, and gotten used to standing up at least maybe I could have outrun what is chasing us". Or at least that's the excuse the boy told himself as he knew very clearly that the creature and lack of sight were the true reasons he can't go full speed.

His lack of sight stopped him from going all out as he still had to worry about whatever was in front of him, he wouldn't care if he ran into stuff as he could still react to his surroundings with his other senses and could use his hands to catch himself or brace but they were occupied holding the creature.

Sure he could put the creature down but that would risk the creature getting killed by whatever chasing him. It might be the parents or mate of this creature that heard its cry for help but it might be a predator that heard its cry and came to eat it. The boy didn't want to risk it as whatever it is, it's quite fast as it been take quick bite on the boy, and it's not enough to hurt the boy, the same couldn't be said about the creature the boy was holding as it fur doesn't seem to be enough to withstand the bites.

So the plan was to run until one of many things happened. Either the boy gets his vision back so then the boy can see what's actually happening, the boy finds a forest, cave or something that he can hide for the creature until his vision comes back or the boy runs until whatever is chasing them gives up which of the current plans, the boy is currently awaiting the first plan as his vision is almost usable.

The boy says "usable" but in reality, he might as well have been seeing through water and that would've been better. But it was his only choice as no large vegetation was nearby to hide in and the creature seems to not give up anytime soon.

And so the boy stops abruptly and turns around. His eyes slowly open but not by much only squinting as that seems to give the boy regular vision minus not being able to see everything he was supposed to but it was enough for him to see and assess the situation. And he shocked him to his core as he could had never imagined the scene before him.
