But Ren's plan all went down the drain simply because he overslept.
Ren didn't know when Zuran sneaked out that night, even though he had his arms tightly wrapped around him all night.
He woke up the next morning all alone in bed. His arms were wrapped around the hard rectangular pillow that he slept on. Ren instantly sat up and looked around. Zuran was casually sitting nearby, going through some papers.
Zuran soon looked up to meet Ren's shocked gaze. "What's wrong?"
"Oh." Ren was speechless. He couldn't tell him that he had been planning to keep an eye on him but had ended up oversleeping. He was sure Zuran had gone out—he could just tell. "Well... I..."
"You were sleeping like a log all night. You're lucky the kids are still asleep. Otherwise, you'd have to go find them and clean up their mess again."
Ren looked around, running a hand through his hair. "Well, I guess I'm lucky then..."
