Mato and Izuku arrived in front of the green-haired boy's house.
"You'll fit in quickly," Izuku said, smiling and knocking at the door.
A short woman with green hair opened the door.
"Welcome back, Izuku-kun," she said. Then she noticed Mato. "Who's him?"
"Just a friend, okasan," said Izuku, "he's going to stay with us for like... well, forever?"
Mato cleared his throat.
"It was your son's idea. I didn't want to invade your place."
"Don't worry, boy," said the woman, "you're welcome here."
(Really? Am I welcome here? Why doesn't she kick my ass out?)
"Thanks, ma'am," said Mato, "I'm Hideki Shirakawa, and I can sleep on the sofa, if needed."
Mato tried to mask his true nature with a more gentle, caring, and wholesome one.
(I swear, if they don't have a bed for me, I'll blow up this house with my darkness.)
"Don't worry, Hideki," said Izuku, "you can sleep inside the guest room."
(They have a guest room?)
"Thanks, Izuku," said Mato, entering the house.
"Are you hungry, Hideki?" asked the woman. "I'm Inko Midoriya, Izuku's mother."
"I'm not hungry, Inko-san," said Mato, "but I'm thirsty."
"Sure, I'll bring you a cup of water," said Inko.
(How the hell did I end up here...)
"Here you have, Hideki." Inko handed Mato a cup of water.
"Thanks, ma'am," said Mato, drinking the cup of water.
"Make yourself at home," said Izuku, patting his shoulder.
"Oh, I will," said Mato, "but I expect you to share information about your class."
"Can I ask," said Inko, "why do you have to stay here?"
"He's homeless, okasan," Izuku explained.
"Really? I had no idea..." Inko's voice became more concerned. "If you ever need something, we're here."
Mato felt a strange feeling in his chest. Was he starting to feel genuine affection towards Izuku and his mother? No, that couldn't be. He had been sent to U. A. to help the League of Villains; he couldn't -- and he wouldn't -- let himself be distracted by mere, filthy feelings like affection.
"I'm going to my room," Mato snorted, "where is it?"
"Upstairs," said Izuku.
"Fine, See Ya," said Mato, going upstairs.
(If anything happens, I will not let myself get affectionate to Izuku or anyone else.)
__________
In the night, Mato lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
(I... didn't expect it to end up like this,) He thought, rubbing his nose. Suddenly, the boy heard someone knocking at the window. Mato got up and checked who was knocking.
It was Dabi.
"Dabi," Mato muttered, with his eyes a bit sleepy, "what the hell do you want at this hour of the night?"
"Come outside," said Dabi. Mato went outside the house from the window and reached Dabi outside.
"Speak up, quick," he said, a bit annoyed.
"Why are you annoyed?" Dabi asked, noticing his friend's mood.
"Because I was about to sleep," Mato replied.
"Sorry 'bout that," said Dabi, "anyway, I have some important news to tell you."
"What?" Mato rubbed his chin.
"Don't go to school tomorrow. We're going to attack the school."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah. You said you wanted to participate, right? Make sure to wear a mask."
"Got it."
For a moment, there was silence. Then, Mato spoke up again.
"I managed to befriend someone from Class 1-A," he said, expecting Dabi to be happy about it.
"Good move," said Dabi, "I'll tell AFO."
"Oh, and, by the way," Mato added, "I now live inside one of them's houses."
"Really?"
"Yeah. His name is Izuku Midoriya, and he seems to have a Quirk very similar to All Might's."
"Interesting. Gather more information about it."
"I will."
"Remember to skip school tomorrow and participate in the enemy attack."
"Yeah, I'll remember."
"See Ya, Mato."
"See Ya, Dabi."
Mato returned inside the house and lay back on his bed.
(Let's make a quick recap of what I know: my classmates trust me, and the guys from 1-A I met trust me too. This guy with freckles is probably related to All Might, judging from his Quirk, which is probably not One For All itself, but very similar. For now, let's sleep. I'll think about this tomorrow, alongside Shigaraki and the others.)
__________
The next morning, 6:00 AM
Mato was sleeping peacefully on his bed, snoring loudly. Suddenly, a thought invaded his mind and caused him to wake up.
(How will I skip school if Izuku wakes me up and forces me to come?)
Mato's eyes snapped open, and his body sat up.
"What time is it..." he wondered. He checked his phone and read "6:00 AM."
"It's early," he muttered, his voice low, "if I manage to get outside this room now and reach the others, Izuku will probably think I'm already on my way..."
"No, wait... I've got something more intelligent in mind."
Mato dialed Shigaraki's number. The villain quickly answered the call.
"Why are you calling at 6:00? I was sleeping," Shigaraki said.
"I've got something in mind."
"Spit it out."
"I go to school, and when you're about to invade school, call me, I'll go to the bathroom and wear my villain costume."
"Why do you have to do all of this mess?"
"Because if I don't, people might start to suspect. They'll never suspect someone who just went to the bathroom, right?"
"You're smart, Mato. Oh, sorry, I meant... Hideki."
"Call me Mato. If you call me Hideki, they'll find out. That's not even my real name."
"What's your real name?"
"Can't tell ya, AFO orders."
"Okay, fine, Mato. I'll send you a message when we're about to enter."
"Fine, bye."
Mato closed the call.
"Since it's early," he muttered, "I've got 2 more hours to sleep."
Mato fell asleep again.
Two hours later, the boy felt his body being shaken by someone. Of course, it was Izuku.
"Hey, Hideki, wake up!" he said, keeping shaking Mato's body.
"I'm awake, I'm awake!" Mato exclaimed, rolling down the bed.
"Get your backpack and let's go to school."
"Yeah, you're right."
Mato got his backpack and made his way to school alongside Izuku.
(He has no idea what's going on today...)
Finally, they arrived at U. A.
"I'm going to my class, see you after school, Hideki!"
"Bye, Izuku."
For the rest of the day, everything went normally. It seemed like a very normal day for an average high schooler. Until Mato received a message.
"We're inside. Do what you have to."
(About time...)
"Sekijiro-sensei!" he exclaimed, "May I go to the toilet?"
"Go, Shirakawa," said Sekijiro.
Before leaving the class, Mato brought a bag with him, which contained his villain costume.
Mato hurried himself inside the bathroom, then outside the window. Making sure nobody was looking, he extracted his villain costume from the bag and quickly wore it.
"Finally," he said while wearing his red pants, "some action."
Mato's villain costume had red pants, a green suit with a blue undershirt, black wristbands with spikes, and, in addition to going undercover, a rabbit-like mask.
"Don't talk," muttered the boy, "they might find out by the voice."
"USJ, huh? At least they're not on the other side of the world."
Mato began to run outside the structure until he reached USJ.
"Let's crush through the glass," he muttered.
Mato did so. From the right side of the USJ, the boy crushed through the glass and entered.
"Oh, here you are, Mato," said Shigaraki.
(Shigaraki, Kurogiri, Nomu, and other minor villains... plus me, of course...)
Mato nodded to Shigaraki.
The boy saw some guys and a man with long, black hair and two kinds of glasses.
(That's Izuku... and that's Iida... this is Class 1-A!)
"Thirteen and Eraser Head, huh?" said Shigaraki, "All Might was also supposed to be here. All Might, The Symbol of Peace... I can't believe he's not here."
(We have to hurry and weaken them before All Might's arrival...) thought Mato. (Wait... I can't use my Quirk, or Izuku will find out it's me! But... I'll be useless if I don't. I have to take a risk.)
"Kaminari, you try contacting the school with your Quirk," said Eraser Head.
"Are you going to fight them alone, Aizawa-sensei?" asked Izuku.
"Yeah, more or less," said Eraser Head.
(Oh, very well... let's get this party started.)
Chapter 6 - End
