Welcome to yet another episode of season 1 volume 2 of God Emperor saga
Hope you all enjoy it
----------------------------------------------------------
The headquarters of the Global Strategic Defense Initiative (GSDI) which was formerly the GAB was a hive of frantic, non-system activity.
Without their level-up notifications and floating HUDs, the world's elite soldiers looked like confused tourists in their own high-tech base.
Captain Zhao stood in the center of the command room, staring at a wall of monitors that were currently displaying nothing but high-altitude weather patterns.
"Captain," a voice echoed through the sterile hall.
Zhao turned, his hand instinctively going to a sidearm that no longer fired mana-bolts. "Han Jin?
You're supposed to be in hiding.
The government is still debating whether to arrest you or build you a statue."
"Tell them to do neither," Han Jin said, walking past the security sensors that didn't even chirp.
Behind him, Lin Xi carried a heavy duffel bag, and Fatty Wei followed, clutching a box of high-end instant noodles.
"I'm taking the basement.
The one with the reinforced cold storage."
"The basement?
That's where we store the experimental hardware!"
"Exactly," Han Jin said, stopping at the elevator.
"The Second Beta isn't going to be fought with guns.
It's a war of Law and Intent.
And right now, your Vanguard is as defenseless as a nursery."
The Asura's Shadow
Han Jin didn't wait for permission.
He moved into the sub-level kitchen, a stainless-steel cavern designed to feed an army.
He threw the Elysian Tuning Fork onto a central prep table.
It hummed, the sound vibrating through the metal floor and stabilizing the flickering lights.
"Lin Xi, the Salt of Creation. Wei, start the industrial stoves," Han Jin commanded.
"What are we making?" Wei asked, already rolling up his sleeves.
"A beacon," Han Jin replied.
"If the Asura is coming to grind this world into meat, I'm going to make sure he smells the seasoning first."
He pulled out the Rusty Paperclip.
For the first time, he didn't use it to link objects.
He used it to Link his own mind to the Elysian Tuning Fork.
Suddenly, Han Jin's perception expanded. He could feel the Thin Spots in reality across the city, places where the Multiverse was beginning to bleed into Earth.
One spot, located just outside the GSDI gates, was pulsing with a violent, bloody red light.
[BING!]
[Detection: Asura Varkas has entered the Local Sector.]
[Aura: Crimson Slaughter.]
[Intent: 100% Hostile.]
"He's here," Han Jin whispered.
Outside, the air turned the color of rust.
A thunderous BOOM shook the entire GSDI complex as something heavy slammed into the main gate.
The alarms finally found a reason to scream.
The Meat-Grinder
A figure walked through the dust of the shattered gate.
He was eight feet tall, encased in armor that looked like it had been forged from dried blood.
In his right hand, he carried a weapon that made Fatty Wei turn pale: a massive, rotating cylinder of jagged blades that shrieked as it spun.
The Meat-Grinder.
[Entity: Varkas the Asura (Rank: Challenger - Silver Tier)]
[Rank Evaluation: Far superior to a Void Hunter.]
"Emperor!" Varkas's voice was a guttural roar that shattered the windows of the command tower.
"I heard you have a Paperclip that defies the Heavens!
I've come to see if it can withstand a real weapon!"
Varkas didn't run; he charged, his weapon chewing through the asphalt like it was butter.
The GSDI soldiers fired their conventional rifles, but the bullets simply disintegrated inches from Varkas's armor, turned to dust by his Crimson Aura.
In the basement kitchen, Han Jin stood over a massive stockpot.
He wasn't looking at the monitors.
He was looking at the way the water in the pot was beginning to ripple in time with Varkas's footsteps.
"Lin Xi, give me the Tuning Fork," Han Jin said.
He took the fork and struck it against the side of the industrial pot.
CLANG
The sound didn't stay in the kitchen.
It traveled through the foundations of the building, through the earth, and erupted directly underneath Varkas's feet.
Varkas stumbled, his momentum redirected. The Meat-Grinder slammed into a concrete barrier instead of the main doors, sending a shower of sparks into the air.
"Sticking to your pots and pans, Emperor?" Varkas laughed, his eyes glowing a manic red.
"Come out and face me!
Or should I grind this building into a soup for you?"
Han Jin picked up a long, steel ladle. He ran the Cosmic Whetstone over it once, twice, three times.
The ladle didn't just sharpen; it began to glow with a cold, blue fire.
"Wait here," Han Jin told Lin Xi and Wei.
"I need to go tell the guest that his table isn't ready yet."
He walked out of the kitchen, through the panicked soldiers, and stepped into the courtyard.
He looked like a normal teenager in a stained apron, holding a soup ladle.
But as he stood before the eight-foot Asura, the Crimson Aura of the warrior was physically pushed back, unable to touch the three-meter circle around Han Jin.
"Varkas," Han Jin said, holding the ladle like a sword.
"You're loud, you're messy, and your Grinder is blunt.
In my kitchen, we call people like you Scraps."
Varkas roared and swung the spinning blades.
Han Jin didn't dodge.
He raised the ladle.
