"Princess Evelyn, stay alert! You can't afford to fall. The future of our Elven race depends on you!"
An elderly elf woman with a head full of white hair warned in a grim tone. Beside her was an extremely beautiful elf princess—Evelyn. A face so beautiful it could even make saints drool, two pure blue crystal-clear eyes, and a tiny pointed nose. Right now, Princess Evelyn's blue eyes were filled with worry and anger.
Her only remaining kin—the race's sole hope of revival—were being trampled and destroyed by those disgusting goblins, yet instead of helping them, she could only tuck her tail between her legs and escape.
The old woman, named Lirin, seemed to understand what was going on in Princess Evelyn's head. Just at this time, one of the goblins chasing them jumped forward—a green goblin holding a bone club in its hand, saliva leaking from the corners of its mouth, its eyes intensely locked on the two elven women.
"Disgusting creature, die!" Lirin exploded when she noticed the goblin seemed to be defiling her noble princess with its bestial gaze.
Indeed, goblins were known for their lust and high reproductive capability. Just the mere sight of a "hole" could drive them to do some crazy things.
Just as the goblin was about to get close to them, Lirin chanted something under her breath.
"Earth Goddess Binding!"
Following her words, several thick roots shot out from the ground, wrapping around the goblin's body like bindings, stopping its figure from moving an inch.
"Damn it!" Lirin cursed. Although she had dealt with one goblin, there were hundreds more. She couldn't even stop to kill it. If she did, they would be surrounded in no time.
Evelyn noticed this and said in a low voice, "Lirin, just hold on for some time. We're about to reach the human territory…"
Just at this moment the rest of the goblins managed to catch up. All sorts of goblins of different shapes and sizes were chasing the elves. In the hands of a few of these goblins were the severed heads of pitiful elves, mostly males, while the females were tied to sticks, completely stripped of all clothing, revealing their luscious snow‑white skin.
With a sickening chuckle, a slightly burly goblin flung the unconscious female elves like trash, clearly intending to humiliate them.
"Damn you filthy bastard, I will have my revenge!"
Evelyn gritted her teeth and swallowed her rage down into her stomach. For a moment she wanted to throw caution to the wind and kill every single one of these goblins.
Lirin noticed her mental state and warned, "Your Highness, you must not. We have finally gotten a chance in this new world. We must preserve and survive."
Evelyn's steps briefly faltered listening to those words. She gritted her teeth and said, "I know, Lirin, but look at what these brutes are doing to our brethren. Even if we manage to survive today, will we be able to continue living with this humiliation? At this point, dying while killing these goblins is a thousand times better than running like rats."
"Your Highness! You must not let emotion cloud your judgment…"
Before Lirin could continue, her eyes suddenly narrowed to slits, her pointed ears twitching intensely. She had noticed human presence ahead—three humans. Could be the messengers from the Fort John human territory.
Indeed, Fort John envoys had previously reached the elf village. The elves, intending to gather as much information as possible about the new world, had warmly welcomed them. From these humans the elves came to know a lot about the Blue Planet, and even about the Fort John army camp. To strengthen their ties, Princess Evelyn herself had set out to discuss the terms of cooperation, but midway they were attacked by goblins. The human envoys, along with a few of the stronger elven guards, died fighting.
They were too far away from the elven village; as such, even after suffering such devastating loss, the two could only continue their journey ahead.
…
"Elves… goblins?"
Xavier's eyes narrowed to slits, noting the figures of two beautiful elves running in his direction while being chased by a tide of goblins.
Just with a single look he knew there were more than a hundred goblins.
"Run!"
Without even thinking, he was already running. Although he was clear of his own abilities and knew he was strong, he didn't want to jump into a battle headfirst without knowing anything about the enemy.
The moment he took the first step was also the moment Jackie and Millie noticed the incoming disaster.
Immediately, the next moment, their reaction was no different from Xavier's—choosing to make a run for their lives without even thinking.
Maybe the goblins' speed was beyond his understanding, or he simply noticed the danger too late, but before he could even take a few steps, the two elves, Evelyn and Lirin, managed to catch up to him—followed closely by the goblins.
Xavier's eyes, filled with chilling light, instantly turned to Evelyn, the elven princess.
"Do you want us to get killed? Why did you bring the goblins here?!"
Evelyn ignored his question and instead asked one of her own. "Are you from Fort John? Take us to Fort John before the goblins catch up. Otherwise, none of us are making it out alive."
"What!?" Xavier's expression instantly darkened. First they brought disaster right to his face, and now they had the gall to ask him to act as a guide—show them the path to goddamn Fort John?
"Are you out of your mind?!" Xavier almost roared. He was incredibly pissed.
Millie's emotions were no different. She had yet to fully come out of shock, yet now she was forced to run again. Although she didn't know what these two beautiful women had done, whatever goodwill she had toward elves in her head disappeared like smoke.
Lirin frowned. "We are in the wrong. But now is not the time for this. Please help us reach Fort John. Later we can reward you handsomely for your difficulties."
