Chapter 34 - 100% bonus and Goblin King Death

Xavier ignored the minor injuries and moved as fast as he could, his figure flashing through the crowd of goblins like death tearing through bones. Heads and arms flew through the air; a thick smell of iron permeated the atmosphere.

In just a blink of an eye, the Execution Streak rose from zero to ten.

[Execution Streak – 10]

Death Will Execution Aura Active – All stats up by 10%.

A purple halo surrounded Xavier's figure. With each kill, his strength increased, his steps getting faster to the point he was simply teleporting to the next goblin in a blink.

Of course, this was just an illusion—Millie and Jackie were simply unable to keep up with his speed.

"Too reckless!" Lirin commented with a frown on her face. Whatever opinion she had of Xavier suddenly took a nosedive. She took this sudden burst of strength as the last struggle before death.

While retreating, her gaze met with Princess Evelyn's. No words were exchanged, but the message was clear:

Escape!

While this human distracted the goblin leader, they were going to escape.

Evelyn shook her head in resignation. She was all too familiar with this scene—people who had yet to witness the vastness of the world often got too full of themselves.

Moreover, Xavier was most likely a newly awakened one who had just gotten strength. His overconfidence was unfounded.

The fact that she could understand this didn't change the outcome. Xavier was going to die a painful death—which she had no intention of witnessing.

Thinking of all these things, her gaze turned to Millie and Jackie—the two human women. A calculating look flashed in her eyes.

Maybe I could take them back to the village.

Both Millie and Jackie looked decently talented and could be of great help in rebuilding the village.

With that thought in mind, she sent a mental transmission to both of them.

Take this opportunity and run. Don't worry about him—he is a lost cause. No one can save him.

Jackie's eyes flickered. Just at this time, Millie spoke up.

"No, we can't just leave him alone. We must help."

She resolutely shook her head and charged toward the nearest goblin, her fist glowing with divine energy. The goblin she punched was thrown back a couple of meters, blood coming out of its mouth.

Millie's thoughts were clear: even if she was not going to abandon him, no matter how little she could do, she was going to stand here and help.

The glow in Jackie's eyes faded. For a moment, the scene from some time ago flashed in her mind—the moment when Xavier walked alone to fight the First Sequence Fire‑Breathing Tiger.

The situation was the same again. While she was thinking of escaping, Xavier was willing to fight against the odds.

For how long was she going to run like this? With how the world was, her life would be on the line again and again.

One day or the other, death would catch up to her.

Maybe the others didn't notice or something else, but while she was thinking, the goblins almost instinctively avoided her, as if they could sense her presence. Instead, they moved to target Millie.

Elven Princess Evelyn saw this scene and shook her head. It seemed the girls had already made their choice—there was no point in convincing them further.

With that thought in mind, her speed increased, getting further and further away from the battle.

Meanwhile, at this point Xavier's body was practically glowing with thick purple aura. In just minutes he had managed to execute more than fifty goblins.

[Execution Streak – 50]

Cumulative Execution – 501]

Looking at the cumulative execution, his expression darkened slightly. Shouldn't he have triggered an achievement for reaching a total of five hundred executions?

This was at least one reason why he didn't flee but chose to fight—he thought he would get some sort of reward.

But now it was too late to regret, so he could only shake his head and tighten the grip on Warden Ruinblade.

Soaked in crimson blood, Xavier's blade Warden Ruinblade howled through the air like a bloodthirsty banshee, reaping the lives of goblins as easily as slaughtering pigs.

With the fifty percent bonus from the Death Will Aura, all of his attributes had crossed the sixty‑point mark.

He was really six times stronger than a human before the apocalypse.

"What is going on?!"

Goblin leader's eyes were wide open in surprise. At first he treated Xavier's sudden increase in strength as the last struggle of a dying man, but before he could blink, the situation turned for the worse.

He noticed the human was growing stronger with each kill, strength growing dangerously close to his own. Soon he even felt slightly threatened.

By the time the goblin leader realized this, he had lost more than fifty percent of his original army.

"How dare you, puny human…!" he roared and charged toward Xavier. But Xavier couldn't care less—he ignored the goblin leader and consciously continued to reap the lives of goblins.

With the goblin leader charging, the speed at which he was killing the goblins increased even more.

By this time, the surroundings had turned into a scene straight out of hell—dismembered limbs and bodies twisted at unnatural angles lay everywhere. If it wasn't for Xavier carefully navigating, he might have tripped and fallen.

After the initial wave of attacks, no goblins were attacking Millie and Jackie anymore. Most of the goblins had started fleeing.

Both girls exchanged glances and saw naked shock in each other's eyes.

"This…! He is too strong!"

Although by now they were already familiar with Xavier's strength, this was too much—killing goblins as easily as breathing.

This was not something they could wrap their heads around.

Lirin and Elven Princess Evelyn had not gotten too far when they noticed something weird. Evelyn suddenly came to a halt, her pointed ears twitching intensely, a slightly confused expression on her face.

Did her ears stop working? If not, then why could she not hear the bestial roars of goblins and the screams of humans?

Feeling confused, she turned her head back—only to see something that caused her eyes to widen like saucers.

"Impossible!"

Even Lirin's expression was one of shock, her mouth wide open as if she had witnessed something absurd like a man giving birth.

The scene of hundreds of dismembered bodies sent chills running down both their spines.

"Just die, human trash!" Goblin King finally managed to catch up with Xavier, a look of utter madness on his face. He had watched all of his underlings die right in front of his eyes. The humiliation and rage he felt was indescribable.

Xavier also stopped, his figure covered in thick purple aura that writhed and twisted around him like a living shadow.

[Execution Streak – 100]

Death Will Execution Aura – All stats up by 100%.]

All of his stats were close to 100, with Mana even touching the 200 mark.

For some reason, instead of feeling incredibly strong, a hint of instinctive danger enveloped his entire being. Beneath the purple aura, his arms seemed to have turned crimson red, with veins popping out like worms.

Badum! Badum! His heart was beating like a war drum. The feeling was so intense that Xavier felt as if he was going to explode from within.

The situation was similar to a balloon on the verge of exploding.

The strength boost he had gotten seemed too much for his body to handle.

These thoughts flashed through his head for a brief moment before his focus returned to the Goblin King.

The Goblin King barely blinked when he suddenly saw Xavier teleport right in front of him. Warden Ruinblade raised upward in a glowing arc. Goblin King instinctively reacted, raising his sword above to block the attack!

Clang! Next moment, the sound of iron striking iron echoed! Xavier felt only slight resistance before the sword in the Goblin King's hand turned into fragments.

Whoosh! Warden Ruinblade continued undeterred, slicing through the Goblin King's figure.

Bang! The strength behind the sword was too much for the Goblin King's body. Xavier could barely be sure, but next moment the Goblin King's upper torso exploded, flesh and blood flying in every direction.

Xavier wiped the blood from his mouth, his vision tuning out the notifications going off in his head.
