Chapter 14 - Creating Histories

Alex was now standing in the arena of the 90th stair.

Right now he was not standing in an arena but in the middle of a battlefield, and his opponent was no longer monsters.

In front of him stood a human in a black battle suit. He held a pitch-black sword and his blood-red eyes glared straight at Alex.

"Huh? Who are you? How dare you still be alive after killing my comrades? I will kill you."

Boom.

The man shot toward him like a bullet train.

Alex activated his defensive technique. He wanted to feel the true power level of this opponent.

And after testing the strength, he had found out that the power level had already reached the peak of the martial warrior realm.

For an unawakened person, possessing this level of power was impossible in earth and that's why probably no one had ever surpassed this level.

Yet the tower was fair to everyone. If someone found a way to grow stronger, they could climb higher.

And since the tower had 100 stairs, there had to be ways to reach each one.

But Alex felt the next ten stairs would be much harder.

Alex slashed with sword and killed the mad man instnantly.

He didn't want to waste time here.

He had already secured an SSS rank cultivation talent as well as an SSS rank bloodline talent. But Alex was not satisfied. He wanted to create history. So he chose to challenge this stage too.

A voice echoed in his mind.

[You have completed the SSS trial. Do you want to go further?]

"Yes."

[Here are the rules:

From stair 91 onward, you must battle in every stair. Up to the 95th stair, you will have a Mythical Grade cultivation talent and an SSS rank bloodline talent. To upgrade your bloodline talent, you must win the battle on the 95th stair.

From there, each stair battle will give you a higher class cultivation talent and a higher class bloodline talent. You will be able to keep all the talents from the 95th to the 100th stair if you win the 100th stair battle.]

Alex's mind went blank for a moment.

From the 95th to the 100th stair, he would receive a higher grade talent at each level, and if he won the final battle, he could keep them all. This was nothing short of pinnacle treatment.

Alex's eyes burned like a rising sun filled with battle intent. He could barely hold back his excitement.

"Alright, let's begin."

He returned from the mental battlefield to his physical body.

As soon as he placed his foot on the 91st stair, a crushing pressure slammed into his body and mind.

It felt like carrying a fifty-ton boulder. This was already comparable to the pressure used by martial masters.

But Alex could handle it with ease.

But the people behind him were not doing as well.

They were frozen in place.

They were witnessing history.

Boom.

[Congratulations to Alex Moriarty, the first ever human of Earth to reach the 91st stair.]

The entire Light Domain heard the announcement.

Boom.

Every human felt a thunderclap inside their mind.

"What is that? What announcement was that? Someone reached the 91st stair? Is this a joke? If it is, then I must say the prank worked on me."

People across the world were stunned. Many thought it was a hoax.

Except for those watching TV, because they knew who Alex Moriarty was.

He was the boy who had won the competition a few days ago and was now challenging the Tower of Ascension.

Reporters went wild.

"Yes. Yes. This is my first day at work and I am witnessing history live. My dear viewers, stay with us. We will try to interview Sir Moriarty once he comes out from there."

A young reporter was almost shaking with excitement. His career was about to skyrocket.

Elizabeth stood frozen. Her son, her baby, had created history just as he said he would. That time she thought Alex was just joking. Tears streamed down her face.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

Ten gigantic auras erupted across the sky at that moment.

Reporters immediately aimed their cameras upward.

Ten human figures appeared, standing calmly in the air. Each one looked like a god.

The young reporter felt his heartbeat stop.

"E... Emperors. I cannot believe I am seeing an emperor this close, and ten at once."

The emperors stood silently with their hands behind their backs.

"We thank their majesties for being here personally."

Everyone in the area knelt down, including Elizabeth. When an emperor appeared before you, kneeling was the unwritten rule of the world.

[Congratulations to Alex Moriarty, the first ever human of Earth to reach the 92nd stair.]

Another announcement shook the domain.

Inside the tower, Alex had defeated five warriors in the mental battlefield and proceeded to the 92nd stair.

No one else was climbing. All candidates stood at their place still as they watched history unfold infront of them. Because they had also heard the announcement.

The battles were not too difficult for Alex. The number of warriors increased but not their strength.

To him, killing one or killing a hundred ants made no difference.

[Congratulations to Alex Moriarty, the first ever human of Earth to reach the 93rd stair.]

[Congratulations to Alex Moriarty, the first ever human of Earth to reach the 94th stair.]

[Congratulations to Alex Moriarty, the first ever human of Earth to reach the 95th stair.]

Announcement after announcement echoed across the tower.

More emperor-level entities appeared in the sky. They gathered around the tower but did nothing. They simply watched in silence. The air felt calm and sacred, yet everyone knew a single spark could cause a catastrophic battle.

Alex reached the 95th stair. From here on, he knew the challenges would grow severely.

He stood in a chaotic forest.

A man in black clothes faced him with a calm smile.

"If you can defeat me, young man, you will create a cosmic history."

"Please guide me, senior." Alex bowed and gripped his sword.

Boom.

Both vanished instantly. There was no need for more words.

Boom.

Their clash sounded like two titans colliding.

From the first strike, Alex realized the man had more than two hundred tonnes of strength. But that was not all. His sword technique was strange and refined.

Alex felt a rebounding force entering his body. Even though he was stronger, he still took damage, while the man remained unharmed.

"My good sir, you have such a refined sword technique. Please allow me to use more power." Alex's smile twisted with excitement.

He was a masochist. Taking damage made adrenaline surge through his mind.

Boom.

He vanished again and attacked fiercely, but the man deflected him with graceful precision. Alex could not land a single hit.

"Again."

His grin grew wider with every passing second.

The man fought with ease until their twentieth clash. His expression changed drastically.

"This bastard is stealing my technique."

Realization dawned in him. Alex was copying his sword skill while fighting.

"Thank you for your teaching, sir. Let's end this."

"Thank you my ass."

The man roared and charged again.

Alex only smiled.

He swung his sword.

The man, who was ten meters away from him, was cut cleanly in half.

Right before his eyes closed, a spark of surprise flashed in them.

"He mastered sword intent and combined it with my technique in such a short time. What a monster..."

Alex returned to his physical body and began climbing to the 96th stair.

The pressure was like a mountain this time, but he ascended steadily.

[Congratulations to Alex Moriarty, the first ever human of the "universe" to reach the 96th stair.]
