Chapter 18 - Geniuses

Alex went to sleep that night.

While he was sleeping, the entire Light Domain was awake.

They could not sleep.

They wanted to know more about this once-in-an-era genius, but the alliance strictly forbade everyone from disturbing Alex's peaceful life.

In the Valentina Emperor Family, a young woman was watching the recording of Alex's interview when he came out.

This scene made every normal human girl, even some martial-artist females, almost lose their hearts.

But this young woman did not feel that way.

Compared to Alex's handsomeness, she was not much worse in beauty at all.

"Alex Moriarty, huh? I am looking forward to the day when all the geniuses take their stages in the Aurora Martial Institution. We will see who is the leader of this generation."

She snapped her finger.

The tablet in her hand vanished and reappeared on the table.

She was none other than Selena Valentina, one of the five SSS-rank talents and a Space Bloodline talent holder.

She had awakened twenty days ago, but all her details were now confidential.

In fact, among the 10 SSS-ranked talent holders, four had appeared recently.

In the Rosario Saint Family, a young man with sharp facial features watched the video coldly.

"I am looking forward to meeting you, Alex Moriarty. I hope you will not disappoint me."

He went to sleep as well.

In the far northern continent, inside a village, a young man was practicing with a dagger.

He wore assassin clothes.

His movements were unbelievably fast for a level-one martial warrior.

"Aren, your moves are still not perfect. You should practice more," a middle-aged man said as he appeared behind him.

"You will soon attend the Aurora Martial Institution. You must become the absolute top there."

"You carry the name of Night Veil Village. Never disappoint your great-grandfather."

"Yes, father," Aren replied confidently.

"I will become the leader of this generation. Alex Moriarty will be nothing but a stepping stone on my path to power."

"That is the spirit, my son. Now go practice."

In the central continent, inside a grand palace, a young woman sat upon a majestic throne.

Her beauty surpassed even Selena Valentina.

"Young miss, the information about Alex Moriarty is here," a maid said, handing over a stack of paper documents.

She was not using any electronic device.

"Miss, do you truly wish to join the Aurora Martial Institution?" the maid asked carefully.

"Our family is far more powerful than the alliance itself. Only the President poses any threat. They cannot teach you much. This is a crucial time for you.

Besides we,the top hidden families have our own martial institution, which is far superiror than the Aurora Martial Institution."

The young woman coldly looked at the maid.

"Are you questioning my judgement?" she asked calmly.

The maid immediately knelt.

"My life belongs to you my lady. I would never dare question your judgement. Please forgive me."

Tears streamed down her face.

From the doorway, her father and grandfather listened silently.

"She truly wants to go there. I cannot stop her. Father, she listens to you. You should try to convince her.", her father looked at her grandfather.

"Huh? You want to make me the bad guy? Your two-month allowance is cut. My baby girl can do whatever she wants."

To outsiders, they sounded like an ordinary father and son.

In truth, one was an Emperor and the other a Saint.

"She must receive the highest-grade protection. Prepare everything."

This voice belonged to neither of them.

"Yes, father."

"Yes, grandpa."

This was the family ancestor, the strongest existence of the clan.

This was the Celestus Family, one of the hidden families with more than nine Emperors.

"I do not wish to hear anything else. I am going to sleep. We leave for the capital tomorrow," the woman said calmly.

She entered her room and took a bath before sleeping.

As she removed her clothes and stepped toward the bathtub, her body resembled a flawless sculpture.

She looked like a goddess walking among mortals.

She sank into the warm water and closed her eyes.

"Alex Moriarty… I really want to know what that feeling was when I saw you," she murmured softly.

The next morning.

Alex woke up and went to freshen himself.

Yesterday, he had not checked his face in the mirror due to cultivation and talent matters.

Today, he finally had time.

The moment he looked at the mirror, he froze.

"Is that really me?"

He could not believe how devilishly handsome he had become.

"No wonder that woman fainted back then," he thought.

After freshening up, he ordered food to his room.

"Alex, may I come in?" Elizabeth's voice sounded from outside.

"Yes, mom."

Elizabeth entered.

"Have you eaten? If not, please join me," Alex said as he began eating.

"No, you eat," she replied warmly.

"I came to inform you that tomorrow is the recruitment day for the Aurora Martial Institution. Do you still wish to go there?"

"Yes, mom. I want to go," Alex replied without hesitation.

"Alright. I will fill out the form for you."

"Oh, the Vice President contacted me. He asked whether you need anything right now."

"Please ask him if there is any machine that can provide a constant energy supply," Alex said.

"If possible, have it installed in our new villa."

Elizabeth nodded.

She knew such devices existed.

Martial Monarchs and above required constant energy supplementation.

"Alright. I will ask him," she said with a smile.

"Thanks, mom. You are the best."

Alex continued eating as Elizabeth quietly left the room.

After eating, Alex started to think what he should do now.

"Let's test the eternal sword talentl."

He went to the training room of the hotel. Right now the entire hotel was empty, because the alliance ordered the Aurelion family that no one was allowed to live here till Alex moved to his new villa. This was for his absolute safety.

Moreover, over 10 martial monarchs were now stationed there as guards for him.

Alex's importance to the alliance far surpassed anyone or anything.

Alex was expecting some guests staying in the hotel in this place because he didn't know that the entire hotel was now empty. Only some chosen staff members were present to serve him food.

But he didn't have time to think about such things.

He transformed his wrist band into a sword.

He stood at the center of the training ground and closed his eyes.

Then he slowly started moving his body according to the first level of the basic sword technique again.

Slash, Chop and Thrust.

Boom!

The air split apart. Alex didn't use an ounce of his energy. He just used some energy to be able to swing the sword.

But even so, it felt totally different.

It felt like he had just started learning swords from the beginning.

He could see that he had many flaws before in swinging his sword.

Before this, the movements felt flawless, but now to him they were full of flaws.

He was swinging his sword on instinct almost. His instinct was telling him where to chop, how to slash, when to thrust.

And within minutes, he tried the other 8 moves too.

All the moves synchronized with each other.

His body was moving totally on instinct, but he could feel that his movements were still not aligned.

He was dancing with his sword in hand. The air cutting sound created a cacophony of ethereal sound.
