Alex heard a knock on his door and slowly opened his eyes, still groggy.
"Young master, open the door. Everyone will leave in one hour."
"What time is it?" Alex muttered.
He had forgotten that he fell asleep at noon and instinctively thought it was still early morning. A moment later, realization struck him. He had slept through the afternoon.
Alex quickly got up, washed his face, and freshened up. After that, he opened the door.
"Thank you. I'll be there in twenty minutes," Alex said, thanking Lina for waking him.
He changed his clothes.
A black T-shirt, navy blue jeans, and a pair of black shoes. Simple and comfortable.
The days of training had transformed his once weak body into a toned and striking figure. His facial features were already handsome, and now, with a well-built frame and a height of 175 centimeters, he looked genuinely attractive.
Alex realized he had not gone outside since arriving in this world.
This would be his first time stepping out of the house.
He knew this world was extremely advanced in technology, but he never cared much about it. He preferred a simple life and had never asked his mother for a mobile phone or nano computer.
Alex walked outside.
About twelve youngsters who met the age requirement were already gathered there. He recognized only two or three of them.
He stood quietly in a corner.
He was not eager to talk to anyone, and they were not friendly toward him anyway.
"Hey, is that Alex? How did he become so handsome? I never looked at him properly. He is really handsome. Let's talk to him," one of his female cousins whispered.
"Hmmp. He is just a pretty boy with no essence. If you make friends with him, don't talk to me ever again," Anna said coldly.
Everyone stiffened and immediately stopped looking in his direction.
Anna cast Alex a mocking smile.
"What is wrong with this brat?" Alex was speechless.
It felt like she wanted to compete with him in everything.
He did not take it to heart. He did not want sibling relationships anyway. Kate had already fulfilled all his emotional needs with a single hit on his head.
Then he saw his mother approaching.
"Hey mom. You look very beautiful. No wonder I'm so handsome," Alex said with a smile.
Elizabeth gave him a look of disdain.
"Your narcissism is almost at the level of your father. I'm afraid you will surpass him soon."
Alex grinned.
Teasing his mother was one of his favorite things. She was still his only real friend in this world.
"Mom, which elders are coming with us besides you?"
"Your third uncle and Butler Dominic. And before I forget, here is your wrist band. It's a second-generation model but still good enough for you. You should know its functions, but I'll explain once more."
"For basic functions, it works as a nano computer and communicator. Once you awaken, you can connect to the virtual network through this band."
"As for advanced functions, it can transform into any weapon you prefer. The weapon will have the strength of a B-grade weapon, strong enough to slay a martial lord level monster with enough force."
Alex had not read much about technology these past days, but he understood the power system well.
This wrist band was a game changer.
The rich always remained rich because they never needed to worry about resources and could focus their minds on things that mattered more.
Alex put the wrist band on his left wrist.
It looked sleek and impressive.
It activated as soon as he wore it. He decided to check its features later.
"Alright everyone, get into the airship. We are leaving now," Alex's third uncle said in a clear tone.
They left the house and boarded the airship.
It resembled a jet fighter, only larger and designed with more refined features.
As soon as everyone boarded, the airship lifted into the sky and shot forward with a boom.
Alex sat by the window, eager to see the world from above.
The light domain was not a domain of actual light.
It was a barrier that separated the world from the darkness outside. Everything inside functioned normally.
There were oceans, sea creatures, islands, and continents. Life proceeded without disturbance.
The abnormalities could not enter here.
[Warning! Warning! There is a dark cloud ahead. Lightning detected.]
[Initiating the cannon.]
Boom.
A laser beam fired from the airship and vaporized the cloud.
They were flying low at the request of the young passengers, so the defense system had to act quickly.
After three hours of flight, they finally reached the central continent.
The airship had been traveling at five thousand kilometers per hour, so it didn't take much time to reach here.
The central continent was the most powerful region among all the continents.
All emperor families lived there, and the headquarters of the Martial Alliance was also located there.
In the capital city of the central continent, every monarch-level and above family owned a private hotel.
The Aurelion family was no exception.
They owned a seven-star hotel named Hotel Glandale.
Their airship landed on the hotel's rooftop.
Managers and guards were already waiting.
The moment the door opened, everyone bowed respectfully.
The manager introduced himslef and his stuffs.
Then they were shown to their rooms.
Alex's room was right beside his mother's.
"Mom, I want to see the night view of the city. Can I go?"
"Alright, you can go. You should also visit the Aurora Martial Institution. Once you awaken, you will be admitted there. Buy anything you want. I transferred funds to your account," Elizabeth said with a smile.
Aurora City was the safest city in the world.
No one below king-level families could enter without a valid reason.
Elizabeth was not worried.
Besides, Alex needed to see the world for himself. It was a good start after being in a coma for two years.
Alex brightened and hurried to his room.
He freshened up again and left almost immediately.
His plan was to explore the city.
If possible, he also wanted to visit the place where the Tower of Ascension stood.
He noticed his cousins leaving together but ignored them.
He had no specific destination, so the whole city was open to him.
Just as he wondered where to go first, he overheard a group next to him.
"Hey, I heard Ms. Hana will perform tonight at the cultural hall. Let's go."
"Are you serious? Then why are we standing here? Let's go."
Alex followed them.
He wanted to see a concert too.
Fifteen minutes later, he arrived at the cultural hall.
Just as he walked toward the ticket counter, a hand grabbed his shoulder and tried to push him aside.
"Hey kid, move. Young master wants to buy a ticket first."
But Alex barely felt the force.
His recent strength made it feel like an ant was trying to push him.
He instinctively grabbed the man's wrist and gave a slight push.
Boom.
The young man flew far from the line.
"What just happened? Did anyone see that?"
The crowd froze.
They had no idea why the man had suddenly been thrown so far.
Alex snapped back to his senses and quickly left the area.
He did not want to cause trouble for his mother.
What if the boy was from an emperor family?
He hurriedly booked a flying cab and headed toward the Aurora Martial Institution.
"Follow that bastard. He wants to run away after hurting my underling," a roar came from behind him.
Alex was thinking about what to do.
His mother was already in a difficult position.
If he hurt someone from a powerful family, that would create too many problems for her.
Alex was timid by nature.
He had been an orphan before, and now that he had found a family, he never wanted to put them in danger because of him.
