Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Terra

Yuhao had gone through an emotional rollercoaster in the past few hours.

He decided, after everything is finished, he might need to do an extra hour of meditation tonight, to clear his mind.

The Plane Spirit had given him a lot to think about.

The greatest mystery surrounding his birth and future memories has now been resolved.

And somehow, he even got his first tenant.

He knew that there were going to be a lot of them. But he still thought brother Tian Meng would be the first. Though this time, he might encounter him a few years earlier.

Yet, he never imagined that someone else was living in his sea of consciousness right from his birth.

'Can I finally call myself Unpaid Landlord?', he thought amusingly.

He could start a dark organization and use that as his alias, he imagined

He wondered what brother Tian Meng's expression would be.

In the future, He would invade Yuhao's body, and just when he was trying to explain things like an elder to the child, a big boss like Plane Spirit appears.

He remembered that Elder Yi's entrance was quite bombastic in his memory.

What would that scene look like in this life?

Thinking about these things finally made him calm down.

He started to focus on the other things he wanted to know. Now that he knew that he was saved by the Spirit.

What about the others?

"When you saved me," Yuhao asked carefully, "did you see anyone else? Were there some other souls also born in this world?"

"Do you know if any of my crewmates survived?"

Yuhao had always been concerned about this. After his reincarnation, once he awoke, He had thought that he might not be alone; perhaps his companions might have been reincarnated as well. And they were somewhere in the world.

And the most qualified person to answer this question was right in front of him.

So he asked, with some hope.

But the answer received dashed this hope just as fast.

"The only one I found was you." The Spirit replied in straight forward tone.

It continued calmly.

"I did not sense any other soul, and there weren't even fragments of your spaceship."

"Only your soul, existing in a vacuum, near the space-time turbulence and on the verge of death."

"Once I found you, I returned in a hurry to save you."

"But the type of accident you guys got into, the chance of anyone else surviving was probably negligible," Spirit replied."

"Even your soul surviving from such a space-time turbulence was a miracle."

The answer wasn't unexpected.

Yet… he had still hoped.

Just for a maybe

Yuhao didn't blame the spirit for not searching. It had no obligation to save anyone at all.

"Being saved and then kept alive itself was a life-saving grace." He couldn't ask for more.

"Then… is there any way for me to go back home?" Instead of wallowing in sadness, He asked his second question.

He still felt nostalgia about his old world. His family still sometimes appeared in his dreams.

You only realize the value of something when you lose it.

He finally understood the meaning of this quote.

Back then, when he could return home whenever he wanted, he spent most of his time traveling through space.

Now that he wanted to return, he couldn't.

He wanted to know how his family was doing.

Were they still waiting for him?

The Spirit did not answer immediately, making him anxious.

"Is there really no way?" he asked again.

"I can only think of two," the Spirit finally replied.

Yuhao immediately increased his concentration, not wanting to miss any words that might come.

"First — become a God," it said directly.

"With that, you can freely traverse the space and search for your home world among the stars. It might take some time, but you will eventually find it."

"Second — build a spaceship like the one you used to traverse the world and do the same."

"But, with the technological level of the world, I don't know how much time it might take to build such a thing."

"You might even die before the world reaches that stage."

"So, you will still need to become a god to live long enough to see through it."

So both methods need me to become god. Yuhao concluded.

'Its like destiny is pushing me to become a god,' Yuhao mused.

The second method was directly rejected by him; even if he succeeded, his family would have long perished by then.

What's the point of returning home if no one was left?

He wanted to see his family, not their graves.

"What about that space-time turbulence from which I came?" he asked.

That was still the method by which he arrived here. Maybe that can help him get to his world fast.

"Don't place your hopes on it." The spirit directly rejected this possibility, then explained.

"The space-time turbulence you came from most probably has already vanished, and these things don't always lead to the same destination even if you find them."

"If it were possible, I would have mentioned it. If you really want to go back, then the only way is to first become a god," It said matter-of-factly.

Then, in a noticeably lighter tone, it added, "And isn't that why I am here, to help you achieve, just that?"

Yuhao understood that the spirit also wanted him to become a god. Their goals were actually aligned.

From the story, he understood at least that much.

"What do you expect from me?" He still wanted to know about it more clearly

"As I already said, I will help you become a god, and in the end, you will help me become plane lord."

"I can't exist outside of you anyway. Our destinies are now connected."

"To help you is to help myself."

"We live together… and we die together," it announced.

Yuhao had no more questions left.

He had already received so much information that he didn't know what to do about it.

Now he had to digest it first and see how he could integrate it into his plans.

He had spent a lot of time talking to the spirit.

He suddenly realized something. They had been talking to each other through voice, and he had been staring at the ceiling the whole time.

'Wasn't there something like a sea of consciousness or something?' he thought.

'Wouldn't it be better to talk there, instead of doing it here in the open?'

Not being one for the ceremony, He directly asked.

"Can't you pull me into the sea of consciousness, just as brother Tian Meng did?"

"Of course I can," the spirit replied, sounding somehow offended. Then said in a low voice.

"It just didn't cross my mind."

"Then, how do I get there?" Yuhao asked, not caring about the tone.

"Just close your eyes."

Yuhao did as said and waited in the darkness.

After some time, he felt a tug, and the darkness slowly started to disappear.

When his vision returned, he was in an ocean, blue water below his feet, endlessly expanding in all directions.

His movement on it created some ripples, but he did not sink.

This wasn't real water, but some type of manifestation made of spiritual power.

He looked around but didn't find anyone.

There was no one in sight.

'Where are you, Lord Spirit?' he inquired respectfully.

Instead of an answer, he heard a sound; some ripples appeared some distance away.

He looked there, space was distorting as if something was about to take form a few feet above the water.

He looked intently, imagining what Plane Spirit might look like.

A delicate, fairy-like girl with a gentle and innocent appearance formed in front of him.

She had short, wavy green hair, giving her a natural, forest-like charm. A small crown of white flowers rested on top of her head, blending beautifully with her hair color.

She had large, warm brown eyes and a slightly shy, thoughtful expression. Her finger resting near her lips makes her look curious, as if she was quietly observing the world.

She wore a light, golden-yellow dress that was sparkling subtly, and three pairs of translucent, butterfly-like wings extended from her back.

"…"

Yuhao got so stunned that no words left his mouth.

It was a real fairy.

In both his lifetimes, Yuhao had never seen someone so beautiful.

The fairy floated a little towards him, clutching the hem of her dress with her hand, and waving another.

And then, in a soft and gentle voice, she introduced herself.

"I am called Terra… the spirit of this plane."
