Chapter 13 - The golem boss 2

Sato fought without pause. He kept killing the mini golems one after another, using every second of cooldown to unleash his skills. Single Slash and Mana Blade alternated in his hands—blue light flashing, stone shattering. Every time he cut down four or five, new ones rose from the scattered debris. But he didn't stop. He dodged the big Golem's slow, crushing attacks, slipping between its legs, slashing at its ankles, forcing it to stumble.

Each time the massive Golem raised its foot to slam down, Sato used the moment. He darted underneath, cut deep into one leg with Mana Blade, then leaped away as the beast lost balance and crashed forward—crushing several of its own mini golems beneath its weight. The shockwave from each fall threw stones everywhere, but Sato rolled, dodged, and kept moving.

The mini golems kept coming, but their numbers finally began to thin. After what felt like an eternity of relentless slaughter, no more rose from the debris.

The hall was littered with broken stone bodies.

Only the big Golem remained.

It stood taller now, slower, its chest orb pulsing brighter. It had regenerated both arms and one leg, but the damage showed—cracks ran across its surface, movements stiffer.

Sato breathed hard, blood dripping from fresh cuts, but his skills had grown sharper. Mana Blade cut deeper. Single Slash moved faster.

The Golem roared and charged.

Sato met it head-on.

The Golem swung its massive fist.

Sato dodged, rolled under, and unleashed Mana Blade—slicing upward across its leg. Stone chips flew. The Golem staggered.

It countered with a ground slam.

Sato leaped high, avoiding the shockwave, then came down with Single Slash—straight into its shoulder. The blade bit deep, carving a glowing gash.

The Golem swung again.

Sato ducked, slashed the other leg.

The beast stumbled.

It raised both arms for a double overhead smash.

Sato saw his chance.

He poured everything into one final attack.

Mana Blade and Single Slash combined in a single motion—blue light surging along the blade.

He leaped.

The sword flashed.

It struck the chest orb directly.

The cut was perfect—clean, powerful, unstoppable.

The top half of the Golem—everything above the chest—split in two.

Stone cracked like thunder.

The orb shattered.

The Golem collapsed in pieces, shaking the entire hall.

Sato landed on his knees, sword planted in the ground for support.

He was covered in dust and blood.

The hall fell silent.

Only his heavy breathing echoed.

The system windows began flooding in one after another, blue light flickering across the ruined hall.

Sato stood there, breathing heavily, covered in dust and blood, staring at the cascade of notifications. His body ached, but a tired, satisfied grin slowly spread across his face.

"This… this is what you call a real reward," he said to himself, voice low but filled with quiet triumph.

The massive golem lay shattered in pieces around him. The hall was silent except for the faint hum of mana lingering in the air.

Sato sat down heavily against the shattered remains of a stone pillar. His body ached from head to toe. Blood, dust, and sweat covered him completely. He leaned his head back, closed his eye for a moment, and took deep, slow breaths—trying to calm the frantic beating of his heart.

After a few minutes, when the worst of the trembling stopped, he whispered:

He equipped the armor and ring immediately, feeling the weight settle on him—not heavy, but solid, protective. The bracelet slid onto his wrist, a faint golden glow pulsing softly.

For the first time in this hellish place, he felt… prepared.

He stood up, testing his new strength.

The far door waited.

And so did whatever came next.
