Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

Chapter 26

"Don't come any closer!"

The beautiful woman stared in terror at Ziteng Koichi holding the dagger, instinctively backing away.

"You unfilial son! You dare raise your hand against your own father?! You'll die horribly—you'll suffer retribution for this!"

As a long-time politician, he had indulged in luxury, fine food, and women for years—his body was already hollowed out.

He was no match for Ziteng Koichi, who exercised regularly and lived with strict discipline.

Especially not now, when Koichi held a dagger.

"Shut up, old man. Now you remember I'm your son? Didn't you only ever have eyes for that useless Hao-er? I was always the most outstanding growing up, yet you wanted him to inherit your legacy! That trash could go into politics, while I—better in every way—was forced to become a teacher? With all your favoritism—how does it feel seeing him like this now?"

As he spoke, the dagger drew closer and closer to his father.

"Koichi, calm down! It was my fault—please forgive me. I'll make it up to you from now on. Just… calm down…"

Thud—

The knife plunged deep into his father's stomach.

"You beast!"

A flash of madness crossed Koichi's face.

One stab. Two. Three…

"I'm the beast? You made me this way—die! Die for me…"

Watching Koichi descend into frenzy, Ye Yu felt a hint of surprise.

I told you to kill each other—how did you get so into it?

Koichi had already planned to destroy the entire Ziteng family because of his father's favoritism. Ye Yu's actions had simply granted him the other half of his wish.

Koichi panted heavily.

His father lay on the ground, face unrecognizable.

"Didn't expect you to play so perversely."

Ye Yu had only asked him to kill.

But after his father was dead, Koichi stabbed the corpse dozens more times.

Koichi didn't respond to Ye Yu. Instead, he turned his gaze toward his stepmother.

The elegant woman was terrified by his blood-soaked appearance and could only beg weakly again.

"Koichi… even though I'm your stepmother, I've always treated you like my own son. Please… spare Mother, okay?"

Koichi's answer was a single slash across her throat.

"Urk… urk…"

She clutched her neck helplessly as blood poured out.

As her consciousness faded, her eyes slowly closed.

Clap… clap… clap…

Ye Yu gave a light round of applause.

Koichi's insanity had exceeded even his expectations.

Most people, after slaughtering their entire family, would at least have a moment of collapse or daze.

But this scum… seemed mentally healthier now.

Hearing the applause, Koichi immediately rushed to Ye Yu and kowtowed frantically.

"Lord Ye Yu! Everything before was my fault! As long as you spare my life, I'll serve you like an ox or a horse—I'll die a thousand deaths to repay you! I'm just your dog from now on—tell me who to bite and I'll bite!"

He even mimicked a dog—raising his hands, tongue lolling out.

"Haha, Ziteng—you're really something."

Seeing his ridiculous display, Ye Yu couldn't help laughing.

Hearing the laughter, Koichi kowtowed even harder.

"Thank you, my lord, for sparing me! Thank you for sparing me!"

Koichi felt certain he would live.

He kowtowed even more frantically toward Ye Yu.

Ye Yu flicked his finger.

A magic array formed once more.

Then came the buzzing sound of insect wings.

Koichi looked up—only to see a swarm of mosquito-like insects hovering above his head.

"L-Lord… what is this?"

Ye Yu's smile didn't fade; he looked at him playfully.

"Of course… to kill you."

Koichi stared at him as if he'd heard something impossible.

"No—no! You promised not to kill me! You can't break your word! Please, my lord—I did exactly what you said! I killed them! Spare me—I'm still useful! I definitely have value to you!"

Koichi kowtowed desperately.

"You actually believed I'd keep my promise? Teacher Ziteng, you're even more naïve than I thought."

Ye Yu turned and walked out of the room.

Behind him, Koichi was instantly devoured by the swarm.

His screams of agony tore through the air.

Promises? Trust?

In Ye Yu's eyes, they were worth less than nothing.

If he'd believed in such things in the apocalypse, he'd have died eight hundred times over.

Walking out of the villa, a wisp of flame appeared in his hand.

Under his control, it transformed into a fire serpent that swallowed the entire building.

"Alright… next one."

In an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts, several people sat impatiently on old chairs.

"Sis, what the hell are you doing? You said there was a surprise for me, and this is it? This dump doesn't even have a ghost—where's the damn surprise? Talk! What are you spacing out for?"

"Yeah, Second Sis—you said you were bringing me here to get rich. This ghost town?!"

Men, women, old, young—all eyes were on one woman.

She was dressed in gaudy jewelry and luxury—the same woman who had demanded money from Ye Yu.

Her eyes were vacant; inside, she desperately wanted to tell them to call the police.

But the words that came out were cold and flat:

"Wait."

Her husband immediately tried to smooth things over with a smile.

"Don't rush. Little Li definitely has something good planned for everyone. She won't even tell me—must be afraid of leaks."

An old man nearby tapped his cane on the ground.

"What's all the noise? Second Daughter is the most capable. She wouldn't harm you. If she says wait—then shut up and wait!"

Soon, another group arrived—led by the middle-aged man Ye Yu had once sent flying.

Then a third wave. A fourth!

The once-spacious warehouse now felt cramped.

"What the hell is going on? Why'd you drag your old man here? Where's the money, you unfilial brat? If I don't see cash today, I'll beat you to death!"

"Dad, I haven't finished my homework yet… why did you bring me here?"

Time ticked by slowly.

Finally, one person couldn't take it anymore.

"This is bullshit—spit!"

He headed toward the warehouse door.

But when he reached it—he couldn't open it no matter how hard he tried.

At that moment, four people seemed to "come online" simultaneously.

They immediately shouted at the others:

"Run! Get out of here—there's a monster!"

The moment the words left their mouths, the surroundings shifted.

The world turned pure white—like they'd entered another dimension.

Countless tentacles erupted from nowhere, snatching everyone and pinning them to the ceiling.

Ye Yu slowly walked out.

"Welcome, everyone. To thank you for coming, I've prepared a little game for us to play together!"
