Chapter 5 : The Announcement of engagement : Drac and Drayan (final part)
The afternoon sun was casting long, jagged shadows across the cottage floor when Drac finally closed his ledger. He looked at me, his expression unreadable, but his voice held that heavy, "Council" tone that meant there was no room for argument.
"Drayan," he began, standing up to his full, imposing height. "Tonight is the engagement party. It isn't just a gathering for the village to drink and dance. It is the formal announcement to the world—and to the High City—that you are officially bound to Wolfie."
I looked out the window toward the Academy, my jaw tightening. "So soon? People already talk enough as it is."
"Let them talk," Drac said, walking over to place a firm hand on my shoulder. "Tonight, the 'Lens Bright' will be on you. The elders, the pack, and even the snobs from the city will be there to see if you're strong enough to stand beside an Alpha's daughter. You aren't just my son tonight; you are the future of this alliance."
"oh yes ,I heard you rejected the angel girl's invitation " . I looked at him " yes , I did ,she insulted wolfie so I want her to know that she is no special and....and I want to protect wolfie "
I can't tell my father, I felt my blood boil when wolfie started to feel insecure around me and for a moment she really expected me to leave her, that was making me more angry I want her to feel my heart, that is always aching for her, wolfie ,the moment I said I won't leave I mean it.
I let out a long sigh and got up from the chair, walk towards my room , to get ready for the engagement party .I don't know what is going to happens tonight I hope me and wolfie have a pleasent time.
