Myles gazed at Nyxara's mother and asked, "Say, is she a Demon Lord?"
Nyxara shook her head. "My Mother is currently at the Demon Lord rank, but she has the potential to become a Demon Lord. However, since she owned a city now and a baroness, the Demon King enslaved her.
Pretty much every demon with a noble rank is a slave to the Demon King."
Myles nodded.
He turned silent.
Nyxara hesitated and asked, "I want to know, what is your plan?"
Myles gazed at her and his face turned solemn, "I want to conquer your world. So, I don't doubt that the prophecy is directed at me. But, it seems it'll be a lot harder now. I have to change my plan."
Nyxara tilted her head sideways. "What do you mean?"
"With my current state, I thought I could just enslave other powerful figures and easily conquer the world. But, it's a lot harder than I thought. The only way I have is to focus on conquering demons that have a lot of potential in the future."
Nyxara pondered for a while and her eyes widened.
"Then, there's a much better way."
"Do tell."
"The Royal Academy."
Myles nodded. "I thought the same, too. However, with my current appearance, as a half-imp and half-incubus, won't the Demon King place his attention higher to me?"
Nyxara chuckled.
"Perhaps. But, it would be a lot more strange that a succubus has a servant that is handsome and a mix-breed."
Myles smiled. "You sure know how to compliment."
"You're welcome." Nyxara chuckled. "Kidding aside, you really don't have to worry. As long as you play your part really well as a servant in the public image and conquer others without getting caught, then to own the Empire in your dreams would not be difficult."
Myles sighed. "Easy for you to say. That was my last thought before I died."
Nyxara was taken aback. She was confused by what Myles meant, but she was then distracted when her mother's body moved.
She turned towards her and stared at her filled with worries.
Myles was silent on the side and soon realized he was a servant.
Closer to the bodyguard he was.
I forgot I'm trained for this.
Myles positioned himself to the martial arts he learned in his previous life as a bodyguard.
Eventually, the baronnes woke up. She struggled to sit up from the bed.
Her eyes swept around the room and landed on her daughter.
She asked, "What happened?"
Nyxara smiled and said, "You erased a part of your memory, causing our soul connection to be lost. We can't repair it, it seems."
Her mother was stunned. "How could that happen? Why did I even erase a part of my memory?"
Nyxara suddenly burst into tears and replied, "Because you want to forget my name. That I have two words name only. We got into conflict because I felt my freedom was restricted. I want to enter the Royal Academy, Mother, including my servant. I want to prove myself that despite having two words name, I can do better and perhaps, make our ancestors recognize me and add another word in my name."
Her Mother's eyes welled up. She did not expect her only daughter to go through such a difficult time. Furthermore, it was actually she who made her feel that way.
She could not believe herself.
The mother and daughter wept for a while, and the former said, "I'm sorry that you feel that way… daughter. Don't worry, I have a recommendation letter from the Royal Academy with me. Learn as much as you can and need. However, don't get your hopes up in… making our ancestors add a word in your name."
In truth, it was not the ancestor who decided their name, but their bloodline. The higher the purity of their bloodline from their Ancestor who had four words name, the higher their potential to awaken three words name.
And the purity of their bloodline was decided on birth.
Hence, her daughter's potential was already guaranteed.
Nyxara nodded and listened to her mother.
She said, "Don't worry, Mother. Also, before you decided to lose your memories, you also stated the reason why you did not want me to interact with other nobles and enter the Royal Academy to join their circle. You don't have to worry about me, I learned a lot after managing the things you entrusted to me.
I met a lot of people, understood them, and fully controlled my emotions. You can rest assured that I won't be trampled by others, even if they are my cousins."
Her Mother was surprised. She stared at her daughter affectionately and felt proud.
She knows that I'm worried that her cousins will make her life difficult in the Royal Academy.
After all, the Succubus Houses have a single matriarch and different family members, too. Hence, it was normal for their daughters to be competitive with each other since the one with the highest potential would become the next matriarch.
The Baronnes, with her position and her reputation, had the highest chance to become the next matriarch of the Succubus Houses and it would not be surprising if others' who vied for her position would target her greatest weakness.
Her daughter.
However, she believed in the strength and will of her daughter.
She said, "Thank you for confronting me, my dear daughter. It takes a lot of courage to do that and I really admire you."
He took out a gold envelope with a red stamp from her brassiere and gave it to her daughter.
Nyxara accepted it while tears continued to flow from her eyes.
The Baroness said, "You have fully grown, my daughter. You have to fly your wings now. However, don't forget to take full responsibility for your decision. I won't be there for you always like I always do."
Nyxara nodded and said, "You don't have to worry about me, Mother. I have a servant, who will protect me."
The Baronnes finally glanced at Myles and frowned. "A Rank 1 lesser demon? A half-imp and half-incubus? Won't his life be messier than yours?"
Nyxara chuckled. "Exactly. He will get more attention than me."
The Baroness giggled.
"Alright. Whatever your plan in the Royal Academy, that's on you. I will leave now, daughter. I'm also busy with a lot of things, especially now I have to take care of the things you will leave behind."
The Baroness teased her daughter with her words.
Nyxara chuckled and hugged her mother tightly.
After a while, the Baroness stood up and finally left without even glancing at the servant of her daughter.
When Myles and Nyxara were left alone, the latter heard a clap echoing behind her.
She turned around and grinned.
Myles said, "Your acting skills are superb."
