Chapter 11 - chapter 11

In Arsai...

Atlas was currently sitting in a place in Arsai, leaning against the destroyed adventurer's guild building. There were soldiers around him. They had been waiting like soldiers; they had been here for days. They had already finished occupying this town some time ago.

Some were sitting or standing, drinking water, and talking with their war comrades. The atmosphere was peaceful, and Atlas felt bored. He was waiting for new orders.

"Urgent orders!" a soldier shouted.

Everyone turned and saw a soldier shouting at the top of his voice in the square, holding a large paper scroll. He let out a sigh before shouting at the top of his voice.

"There are orders coming from the General. He requests all troops under Julius, Unit 14, to return to their base immediately. There are problems with border bandits and criminals infiltrating the camp and attacking."

"Please return to your camp as soon as possible. They are requesting support."

"Unit 14?" a soldier asked.

"Isn't that us?" another soldier replied.

"Finally! We can go back and rest," a soldier spoke.

"But why us?" a soldier asked, pointing to himself.

"Isn't it obvious? It's because our unit has this giant," a soldier pointed to Atlas.

"We are lucky because he's with us."

The soldiers went outside the town gates and headed out while Atlas was standing and looking among the soldiers passing between his feet.

"Hysin giant, didn't you hear the order?" a soldier asked.

"Hmm...."

Atlas was turning his head left and right, looking down as if searching for something, but he couldn't find it no matter how hard he looked.

"What's the matter, what are you looking for?" the soldier asked with a cautious expression.

"Where is Zander?" Atlas asked while searching for him among the departing soldiers.

"Oh, you mean the Captain! He's currently gone on an escort mission with Commander Julius. You'll meet him at the camp soon," the soldier replied.

"I see. If that's the case." Atlas stood up and went with the rest of the unit.

He went and saw where the soldiers were going and noticed that even Julius wasn't with them. Perhaps because he was also busy. But there were conflicting and strange feelings inside Atlas.

This was the first time Atlas went without Zander. It was a strange feeling, like feeling lost.

Atlas decided to walk with them and go to the camp. Nothing bad could possibly happen.

Inside a destroyed building in Arsai...

Zander was standing in front of the building, and Randolph was staring at him.

"What's the reason for summoning me here?" Zander asked, scratching his head.

"It's for a special mission."

"Uh, what?" Zander asked.

"You just need to answer a few questions, just for confirmation," Randolph spoke.

"Yes.... go ahead," Zander spoke, confused.

"Are you ready to fight?" Randolph asked.

"Of course," Zander replied.

"Are you prepared to risk your life for Hysin?" Randolph asked.

"I was born to serve the Kingdom," Zander replied, giving a half-bow.

"If you could only save two people, whom would you choose? The King, or his family?"

"I would choose the King, because as long as there is a King, someone will inherit the throne. The King is the shepherd of the land we live on," Zander replied.

"That's good. You can enter now," Randolph spoke as he entered.

Zander entered and saw Julius and Charlotte, and there were soldiers, but you could see seriousness in their eyes. Some had removed their helmets, and there were many scars. He felt a solemn atmosphere here. In the middle, between Julius and Charlotte sitting at the table, was a person wearing old clothes and a cloak covering most of his body.

"Greetings, Commander Julius, Lady Charlotte," Zander spoke while giving a half-bow.

"Raise your head. Enough preliminaries. The matter concerns..."

"Indeed," the cloaked person hiding his face replied.

"Who is this man?" Zander asked suspiciously.

"He is our spy, Lyos. He has been spying on the Myard Kingdom for three years. He is here to provide important information, Captain," Charlotte replied.

"About what?" Zander asked.

"About your mission. The General has assigned a highly secretive mission, for you and everyone in this room," Lyos spoke.

"You mean Ron?" Zander asked.

"Rather, the Supreme General, Hector," Lyos spoke seriously.

"What? The Supreme General?!" Zander shouted in shock.

"Yes, don't panic. Save that for later," Julius spoke mockingly.

"So why did you ask for me? Isn't it better to take Atlas instead of me? He literally can handle this mission," Zander spoke.

"This is a highly secretive mission. The King personally requested we not bring him with us, to avoid complicating the mission," Lyos spoke.

"By Artosius! The King requested that?! Why?" Zander asked.

"For our mission," Lyos spoke.

"What is this mission?" Zander asked with concern.

"The mission requires going to a certain town, where our target is."

"Who is the target if it's so secretive?" Zander asked suspiciously.

"You'll know when you meet him."

"I'll know?" Zander asked suspiciously.

"Now there's no time for questions," Lyos spoke while...

"Just who in hell is it?" Zander thought while following them.

In the Silent Forest....

Forbas and Vera Lindragon, along with a few people going with them, were wizards and knights who opposed the idea of peace. They were advancing through the forest and passing the journey smoothly, thanks to Forbas who defeated them quickly.

"We've arrived," a Serafield knight spoke, looking ahead at the cave.

"This is.... this is his lair?" Forbas asked.

"Yes, we arrived quickly thanks to you, Head Wizard."

"Please stop that. I haven't yet become as powerful as Malamados to be described like that. At least not yet," Forbas replied.

"True, but you must have enough courage to become the next Malamados if you want to meet the dragon," Vera replied.

"You are right about that," Forbas spoke, looking down.

"Let's go and awaken him."

They advanced forward inside the cave and walked with anxiety, holding torches as they progressed.

Forbas felt an unparalleled power, a power that almost made him kneel, and he looked at his ring, the instantaneous teleportation ring. He closed his eyes tightly.

"So this was the energy of Dragunimir? Truly amazing," Vera replied while moving forward.

"Hoo... hooo... for the wizards... I must do this!" Forbas spoke while advancing forward.

They advanced, some of them, while others moved more slowly, their feet trembling. After a while, they reached a certain place and fell to the ground from exhaustion.

"Is this..... him?"

It was at the end of the cave where what they sought was... the Dragon.

Its shape was unclear due to the darkness, but they felt it, they felt its presence, and they saw that there was something massive breathing. Every breath it took made everyone freeze and retreat.

Vera stepped forward, took out a dagger, and cut her hand. When the blood fell to the ground, Vera muttered, and the blood began to fly and glow.

"∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆" Vera spoke in the dragon tongue.

When she finished reciting the incantation, the blood flew and formed a small circle surrounding the dragon's head. Seconds passed... until the dragon opened its eyes.

"Who?"

It was one word, just one word, but it made everyone kneel immediately and become weak, with fear creeping up their spine.

"Was it you who awakened me?" the dragon asked.

"Yes, Great Dragon!" Vera replied reverently while kneeling.

"How do you have my scent?" the dragon asked.

"I am from the lineage of the great sacred dragon Dragunimir," Vera replied.

"How is this possible?" the dragon asked.

"The sacred dragon gave his blood to the first member of my family, Ogar Lindragon, and we inherited the blood of his descendants," Vera explained.

"I see...." the dragon spoke, narrowing its eyes.

"Thank you. Excuse me for awakening you, but I did this for an important purpose."

"Hysin, the enemy of the world, has obtained a giant that threatens us, threatens our kingdom."

"I am not asking. I only wish and beg of you, O Dragon, to defeat this giant and show the scum of Hysin your great power, O__"

"Hybrid creatures," the dragon spoke with a hateful voice.

"Excuse me?" Vera asked with clear confusion on her face.

"If your kingdom has hybrid creatures like you, it must be ensured that they do not bring disgrace to us," the dragon spoke.

"Wait, great Dragon, what is...?" Vera asked while retreating in fear.

Suddenly, the dragon's chest glowed red, and Forbas saw this and was horrified.

"Damn,"Forbas shouted, grabbing Vera and using the ring's magic, and they teleported away.

Whoosh!

Flames surged with terrifying force and burned everything, turning it to ash. The force of the fire was so great that it went outside the cave, destroying everything in its path. Then the cave exploded, and the dragon emerged into the sky and let out a roar.

"To all insects, burn and destroy everything in your path. I am Evryx Enatos! Obey me!"

As soon as it roared, all the monsters in every part of the Silent Forest moved, came out of their burrows, and went directly outward. It was an army estimated to be countless in number.

Trolls, goblins, kobolds, lizardmen, minotaurs, nagas, hydras, arachnids, and many more advanced. Their numbers were estimated in the thousands. These were the monsters who lived in the Silent Forest, hiding in fear of him. Now, after hearing his order, they would carry it out, and with open arms, since their enemy was humans this time.

"A giant?...he is a titan then It might be a tasty meal to celebrate my awakening," the dragon spoke while flying to an unknown place.

"So this is the place?"

Zander and a group of 50 knights were hiding in a field and looking towards a small town. There were people carrying things as if they were about to leave. There were even Myard knights, wearing their blue and white armor with the emblem of the white fox.

While they were transporting goods, there was someone wearing a cloak, looking at what they were transporting with an angry expression.

"That's the target! Move quickly!" Lyos shouted while moving.

They advanced through the wheat fields. They went to a Myard knight on patrol and slaughtered him swiftly, moved and advanced, and reached the town.

Zander wondered why he was on this mission with veteran warriors like these. He felt out of place.

Now they moved quickly, moved and shot arrows, and killed every inattentive soldier. While they were moving, a group turned to them and shouted.

Randolph advanced and killed two of them skillfully, but not before the alarm bell was struck, alerting everyone.

"Enemies!" a Myard soldier shouted.

"Damn! Everyone move quickly! We must prevent the target from escaping!" Lyos shouted.

They divided themselves into five groups, and Zander separated far from Charlotte and Julius.

They charged quickly and were killing, but the Myard soldiers defended themselves, and some of them died. While they charged, in the end Zander arrived and saw that Charlotte and Julius had gathered and surrounded them from all directions, and the enemies were forming a defensive dome, preventing them from advancing. And that individual was shouting angrily.

"Damn you, do you know who I am? You will be executed for this!" the mysterious individual shouted.

"Shut up, you are surrounded now, you... you!" Zander shouted in shock.

"What's the matter, Zander? Do you know this person?" Charlotte asked.

"And I was wondering why he assigned me to such a mission away from him," Zander spoke mockingly.

"It's been a long time since we met, hasn't it, O Third Prince Orion?" Zander asked, pointing at him.

The individual looked, and when he saw Zander, he let out a hollow laugh and removed the cloak covering his face. Everyone was surprised. He had features and hair color very similar to the King.

"Yes, it's been a while, O Guard Zander," Orion replied.

"Guard?" Julius asked while holding a sword.

"I used to work as a guard, a guard in the King's castle at the time," Zander spoke, turning his eyes to Julius.

"My father must be very eager to kill me if he sent all of you just for me," Orion spoke with some anger in his voice.

"Yes, your father misses you so much that he hasn't forgotten what you did since that day," Zander spoke.

"I didn't understand the reason for his violent invasion of Myard, but the picture is becoming clear now."

"He knew about the complicity in the Golden Castle invasion disaster, and Myard was the complicit party in the matter," Zander spoke.

"What? Do you mean the incident where a large number of nobles died, and the King was almost killed?!" Charlotte shouted in horror.

"Yes. I received the arrow that was meant to kill the King at that time."

"This explains why a commoner like you became a captain," Julius spoke mockingly.

"I have only one question... why?" Zander replied with sadness.

"Why did you kill your brothers? The Fourth Prince Raphael and the Fifth Prince Apolloys? Just for what?" Zander asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" he asked mockingly.

"Of course for the throne! It's the only way for me to get it!" Orion spoke.

"And you tried to kill the King! Your own father! Just for the throne!" Zander shouted angrily.

"This is the only way to ensure I get the throne. As long as I can control the capital, I will become the next King of Hysin!" Orion shouted.

"I don't like to make a statement that you're dead, but rather a disguised spy."

"Damned old man, it doesn't matter as long as I'm with Myard, I will__

"And look where you ended up," Zander spoke, pointing around him.

"You're finished, Orion. You know this. There's no way for you to survive this, or become a King again," Zander spoke.

"You don't know this yet," Orion spoke, drawing his sword.

"We'll see about that, the traitor Prince," Zander replied angrily.

That night was one that filled the sky with the screams of soldiers as they killed each other.....
