A month later.
The first shinobi war began. Iwa mobilised their troops toward Kiri to wipe them out, but Mizukage had returned and led his troops to clash with Iwa.
On the other side
Konoha was attacked by Suna. Suna alone stood no chance against Konoha. They had planned to ally with Kumo, but Kumo didn't show any reaction yet, which was growing more headache for Tobirama.
Konoha was still trying to end this war with peace, but Suna had other ideas.
While other villages were busy in the war.
Uzushio was the only ninja village in peace now, but they still had their guards up for any sudden enemy attacks.
In the Uzushio
Malenia looked down at the small bundle in her arms.
She was impossibly small, swaddled in red cloth stitched with spiral patterns. A tuft of bright crimson hair peeked out from the blanket. Her tiny fingers curled around Malenia's gloved thumb with surprising strength.
Malenia looked at the figure ahead and said, "What's her name?"
"Kushina Uzumaki." the man said.
Malenia looked at the tiny figure again. The child blinked up at her, wide blue eyes unfocused but fierce even now, as if already daring the world to challenge her. Kushina let out a small sound—half yawn, half complaint—then settled, her grip tightening.
Malenia adjusted her hold instinctively, careful despite her strength, cradling Kushina.
Malenia smiled with warmth for the first time. She kissed the girl's forehead and said, "Grow well, Kushina. With me here, no one will dare to lay a finger on you or on our family.
Malenia then handed the baby back to the daimyo and said, "Congrats, daimyo sama."
Daimyo, then holding Kushina, left the room.
Malenia then looked at the scroll on the desk and opened it. This was sent by Konoha, or specifically by her elder sister Mito.
She opened it and glanced at it, then, after finishing reading it. She didn't show any reaction.
She then ordered a shinobi to call the elders and assemble in council in 10 minutes.
After a while in the council.
Malenia relayed the information on the MIto letter to others. All the elders had serious faces after hearing the information. Then, suddenly, an elder broke out in an arrogant laugh.
"The great Konoha now needs our help. haha. They dare to ask for help from Uzumaki after what they did." Other elders also snorted.
Then the old clan head spoke up, "What have you decided, Queen?"
Malenia looked at them and said, "I have to help. My elder sister personally asked this favour from me. Even if it was Tobirama who asked her to write it. By helping Konoha this last time, I am honouring Lord Hashirama and completing a favour for helping protect Uzushio before.
"I will lead 25 shinobi with me. I will leave Isobu here to protect against any sudden attacks, and I can get back here instantly with this," she showed a kunai which had kanji written on its handle.

Other elders also nodded, believing in their queen's action.
Seeing all people nod, she spoke, "I will depart tomorrow morning."
Then she stood up and left the council chamber.

Malenia looked at the village from her balcony. She could see children laughing and playing in an open ground. Other older people were either buying food in shops or just talking with each other.
Below, a child stumbled and was quickly pulled up by her mother, laughter following. The sound carried upward on the sea wind.
Malenia exhaled slowly.
Peace was fragile. If the war spread unchecked, scenes like this would vanish—not only in Konoha, but here as well.
She straightened.
It seems the world needs to know not to meddle with Uzushio.
