Chapter 69: Fall of a God
Novaerion thought to himself—
I have no choice… I have to use a Supreme Expansion.
His hands trembled as he formed a sign.
"Supreme Expansion of Space."
The moment the words left his mouth, Neraxis answered without hesitation.
Neraxis:"Fractured Eternity."
Novaerion:"Cosmic Cascade."
The world screamed.
Their expansions collided violently, space folding and tearing as impossible pressure crushed the battlefield. Novaerion's domain burned brighter—starlight roaring like a dying star. For a brief moment, it looked as if his light might prevail.
Then—
CRACK.
His expansion collapsed inward, shattering like a broken mirror. Starlight fractured and was swallowed whole.
Neraxis' Expansion consumed him.
Inside Fractured Eternity, Novaerion stood frozen in despair as mirror shards tore into him from every direction. Flesh split. Bones screamed. Pain drowned thought.
Was I really stronger than Kael… like I proclaimed all my life?
I didn't even last as long as him…
A bitter smile formed.
That's pathetic.
How will I ever face them again? I declared myself stronger than Kael Draven… and was humiliated.
Blood poured from his mouth as his body trembled.
"Kill me, Neraxis."
Neraxis lunged forward, Hellfire igniting in his hands, his four eyes cold and merciless.
You were fun to play with, he thought.
Be thankful I didn't annihilate you instantly, you damn brat.
His burning hand touched Novaerion.
There was no scream.
Novaerion's body disintegrated almost instantly, reduced to drifting starlight and ash.
In his final moment, he smiled faintly.
I gave it my all… and still failed.
And so, the god of starlight fell.
