What… what was happening?
What was going to happen next?
He had no answers.
Only fear.
{Minutes Later}
Yura woke up.
His eyes barely opened. The first thing he saw was a pile of bodies—battered, bloodied, motionless. Flames devoured the city of Shiduko, buildings collapsing as smoke choked the sky. Sirens screamed endlessly. Ambulances rushed through the streets, picking up the wounded wherever they could.
Yura's hands trembled.
His voice broke as he murmured, barely able to breathe:
"Mom… Dad… friends… teacher… Minami…"
His lips quivered.
"W-where are you all…?"
A man stepped in front of him.
Kael Draven.
In the darkness of the night, his green eyes glowed faintly. His presence was calm—too calm for a city in ruins.
He spoke quietly, almost gently:
"They are in the hospital. Being treated right now."
Yura erupted into tears. His body shook as relief flooded him.
"I'm… glad…" he whispered to himself.
Kael looked away.
Inside his mind, a heavy thought echoed:
How could I tell him… that his parents—and everyone in this city—are dead?
After a brief silence, Kael spoke again.
"The ones who did this are cultists. We are Hunters."
His gaze hardened.
"We are their enemies."
He extended his hand.
"Do you want to become a Hunter, Yura?"
Yura wiped his tears. His trembling stopped.
He grabbed Kael's hand tightly, his eyes burning with fury.
"I will make every single one of them pay."
Kael smiled.
"That's the spirit."
Kael turned and began to walk. Yura followed him through the burning city, stepping over ash and ruin.
In that moment, Yura De Urs made his choice.
He had joined the Hunters—
without knowing what awaited him.
