Sekhmet deliberately stopped listening and returned to Lily and the others.
The Void gate remained open in front of them.
"Dawn House."
The battle maids began crossing first. The most heavily injured were helped through by the others, while those who could still walk moved behind them. Vera and Vela waited until most of the maids had passed before approaching the gate.
Vera looked back at Sekhmet.
"Are you coming?"
"Yes."
Vela glanced at her twin and then toward Sekhmet. Neither woman said anything about the strange bloodline influence that had passed through them earlier. Sekhmet had no intention of starting that conversation either.
The twins entered the gate together.
Mira came next. She stopped beside Sekhmet instead of immediately crossing.
"We need to talk later."
Sekhmet's expression became slightly suspicious.
"About what?"
Mira noticed the look on his face and smiled.
"Business."
"That is acceptable."
"What did you think I meant?"
