Sekhmet's expression changed slightly.
Elena continued before he could interrupt.
"Whatever happened to Stephen, if he is alive and has recovered even a large part of his strength, none of us are in a good condition to fight him again."
Sekhmet looked toward his hand.
Blood God Will had allowed him to cross a difference that should have been impossible.
But he understood the cost now. His Bloodlust had gone beyond his control. He had nearly lost ownership of his own body.
Using it again immediately is impossible. He needs to build up bloodlust again.
Elena spoke more gently.
"Winning one battle does not mean you need to fight the next one today."
Sekhmet looked at her.
"Did my father teach you that?"
"No."
"What did he teach you?"
"Usually the opposite."
That sounded more believable.
Elena sighed.
"Which is why someone had to keep him alive."
Sekhmet let the argument go. For now…
"What about Mihos?"
"Leave him too."
Sekhmet's expression darkened again.
