During those days of training, the Everlight party and the Azure Vanguard were at their home having breakfast. Theun got the latest news as he drinks his cup of coffee and reads it out loud for everyone to hear.
THE RISE OF A NEW WARLOCK OF CALAMITY
Announced by the SUN Cult just today. The warlocks of calamity that were once five have regain a new member, rising back to six....
"Geez, it won't be easy to take them down,"
Rene sighed as she went to clean up the dishes. Theun drop the newspaper on the coffee table. Raye uses this chance and takes a peep at it. There were not any image on the newspaper, just headlines and mountains of words.
Suddenly, a bell sounded in the city which the Azure Vanguard went on guard and quickly grabbed their weapons. The Everlight party that were confused by the current situation but also have their guards high went out of the house to see the commotion. The Azure Vanguard ran out of it and dashes to the city square to be followed up by the Everlight party.
"What's this about?"
Raye manages to dashed beside Theun which he replied.
"Something bad is happening in the city,"
The Azure Vanguard and the Everlight party then stops at the city square where people were running around and chaos was happening right then. Fire spread across the city as few imperial mages went out to stop the situation from getting out of hands.
There stood a hooded man with artefacts hung on his neck. It was a golden eye with blue sapphire in the middle of it.
"Is that...the new warlock they speak of?"
"We don't know...they always keep a low profile,"
Theun drew his sword and dashed towards the warlock. The hooded man grabbed a dagger from his cloak and parried the attack. The dagger was black and the handle seems to be a root of a tree. The hooded man then swings his dagger at Theun but he dodge down and kick his legs. The warlock dashed back and threw darts at Theun. Cyrus quickly ran forward and block those darts with his large shield. He then swings his shield on the ground, creating a huge vibration that sent the hooded man away.
"So this is the power of the Azure Vanguard..."
Raye quickly snapped out of it and dashes towards the hooded man. He swings his sword at the hooded man while he just parried the attack with a single dagger. The hooded man then kicked Raye in the stomach, sending him crashing onto a building. Raye stood up as he got this sense of familiarity. Rene flew up and casted rock spells at the hooded man. He dodges the attacks and leap high up in the air, reaching to Rene's level. Before he could attack Rene, Amethia sent a thunder spell in lightning speed but the hooded man somehow dodges the attack.
"Damn it...this guy is not your normal cultist! At most...might be a small leader of a faction or a warlock..."
The hooded person then landed on the ground. Before he could react, Theun manages to damage his hand. Blood drip on the ground but he just smirk. Theun swings his sword at the hooded man but before it falls, the hooded man moved so fast that no one notice it except Will. He whispered into Theun's ear that makes him break a sweat.
"This is for killing Rion,"
A woman voice came from the hooded person. Rion, that is the name of the warlock that the Azure Vanguard and the dwarves took down. Is she trying to get revenge? While Theun was clouded with thoughts, the hooded woman then punched Theun in the stomach that sends him few feet away, crashing onto a building.
"You shouldn't have hesitated,"
The hooded woman then ran towards the residents that were trying to escape the situation. The hooded man touch each of everyone in the face and hands. Man, woman and child started mutating as soon the hooded man touches them in the face.
They all turned into what seems to be a wolf but also a dog. Raye watches in terror at the mutation as their life went out of their eyes. Vibrant purple furs pooped out of them and large fangs clenched against each other. Those mutated beings that were once the Rolken tribe started running towards them. There were five in total. Raye hold them off but did not kill them. Will casted fire spells at the mutated beings and fired it at them. The beings somehow tough it out and dashed in sound speed at Will. Will flew up in the air and fire a rock spell at the mutated beings. The rock spell was small but sharp. In pierced through the air and smashed the one of the mutated beings in the face. It spat out blood but climbs back up and run around. Raye did not want to kill them, he wants to save them, those folks that were mutated, it is too cruel for them.
As he holds one of the mutated beings off by placing his sword at his mouth, preventing it from biting him, He heard a cry, a cry for help from the beast in front of him.
"Help...us...."
Raye hesitated and think of ways to save this poor soul. Suddenly, he heard a loud explosion from behind, he turned his head and saw Will killing one of the mutated beings.
"Don't kill them! We could save them-"
The mutated being ahead of Raye pins him down and tries to eat him. Cyrus Ryker slams his shield at the mutated being. The edge of the shield slices the head off that mutated being, putting it out of its misery.
"Why did you kill him? We could have save that soul!"
Raye exclaimed at Cyrus which he yell back at Raye.
"Get a hold of yourself! These lifeless beings had already lost their souls, we can't save them right now, we still got someone on our hand, it's better to save ourselves than to risk it for a lifeless being!"
Raye finally realises one thing. It isn't about saving someone who is already doomed, but saving themselves from getting doom too.
Raye grabbed his sword and look down on the mutated being. Its body was small, as if, it was a child. Another mutated being jumped behind Raye, trying to ambush him but he just swings his sword behind and slices off the mutated's head, ending it from its misery.
Theun parried the attack from the hooded woman as he touches Theun's left arm. His arm started turning vein purple before Theun sever it with his sword. Having one arm, he manage to hold his ground against the hooded woman. Raye watches Theun fight the hooded woman with one arm, this is the reason why he had taught Raye to switch hands during training.
Wasting no time, Raye dashed towards the hooded woman and swings down his sword while Theun cornered him at a wall. Raye sliced off the hooded woman's left arm but he let out a dark aura that makes Raye and Theun leaped back. His left arm regrow as he dashed towards Raye. He blocked the attack and swings his sword down.
"You're not the one I'm here for,"
The hooded woman said to Raye before jumping up high and swinging his dagger at Theun. Amethia and Rene fired spells at him, making him fall back. Just then, the imperial mages gathered around and assist both of the parties. The hooded woman clicks her tongue before leaping away. The imperial mages tries to attack him with magic but he was just too fast for them. He touches a few of the imperial mages on the face before leaving the scene.
"Crap..."
Fortunately, the imperial mages got in control of the situation and lock them up in a cage made out of electro webs.
"We will investigate and research of this beings,"
Sherman attached Theun's hand back into its original position as the Everlight party and the Azure Vanguard thanked their aids. Theun's expression was darkened. Rene tries to comfort him but he just looks at them and said:
"We had make a mistake by making the SUN Cult an enemy,"
They were appalled by Theun's words. Raye quickly realises one thing. They had kill warlock Enceladus Lauren, does that means they are being antagonised by the SUN Cult? But that hooded man said he isn't looking for him? Just what is this SUN Cult on about...?
"Let's call it a day,"
Theun stood up as he reassured himself.
"Get plenty of rest, we will resume our training tomorrow,"
Raye watches Theun walk away as the Azure Vanguard followed up. He look at the aftermath of the battle and sighed, catching up with the Everlight party and to the Azure Vanguard.
