Chapter 18 - Chepter 16:- 1920

1 January, 2008

Mumbai – Juhu, Krishna Villa

Krishna sat comfortably in his living room, controller in hand, completely focused on a game of GTA. Beside him, Manoj played just as seriously. For a moment, the world outside didn't matter—only the game did.

"Krishna," Manoj said casually while playing, "have you really thought about this? A horror film? It's very different from your usual movies."

Krishna smiled, eyes still on the screen. Manoj had already heard the news—Krishna had signed a new contract, unlike any he had done before. This time, the production house didn't have enough funds. Krishna had agreed to invest half of the film's budget himself, in return for a profit-sharing deal. It was risky, but Krishna believed in the project.

After a pause, Krishna put the controller down.

"I like this film," he said calmly. "Pack my suitcase and get my passport ready. This is my first international shoot. We're going to England."

Manoj grinned.

"Alright, bro. I'll take care of everything."

The two continued discussing the film 1920 late into the evening.

Short Summary

The story follows Arjun Singh Rathod, an architect who falls in love with Lisa. Because Lisa is a Christian woman of mixed heritage, Arjun's family rejects her. Choosing love over tradition, Arjun renounces his faith and family to marry her.

After their marriage, the couple moves to Palampur, where Arjun is assigned to renovate an isolated mansion into a luxury hotel. What they don't know is that the house is cursed. Anyone who previously tried to renovate or demolish it met a mysterious death.

Soon after moving in, Lisa begins experiencing strange and terrifying supernatural events. Arjun initially dismisses them, believing Lisa is simply struggling to adjust to her new surroundings. However, the truth is far darker—Lisa becomes possessed by a powerful and malevolent spirit.

It is later revealed that the spirit belonged to a man who was executed in that very mansion years ago. Before his death, he vowed to haunt the woman he loved—Gayatri Devi—through her future lives. Lisa is revealed to be Gayatri's reincarnation.

In the climax, Arjun—who had turned into an atheist after abandoning his family—regains his faith. Chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, he confronts the spirit and successfully drives it out. The demon is banished, and Arjun and Lisa finally find peace together.

After completing his future commitments, Krishna attended brand shoots and photo sessions. Soon after, he and Manoj departed for England, ready to begin a new chapter in his career.

England

Krishna and Manoj arrived in England a few days before the shoot. Since Krishna wasn't very well known there, the two of them freely explored the country without attracting attention. They visited old towns, historic buildings, and perfectly designed houses that carried a quiet charm. The cold weather, clean surroundings, and peaceful atmosphere felt refreshing.

Manoj looked around and smiled.

"Now I understand why so many Indian celebrities and businessmen settle abroad," he said.

"No crowd, no pressure. People don't recognize you. You can actually live peacefully."

Krishna nodded.

"It's a good place," he replied calmly.

"But no matter where you go, a mother's place is always home."

After touring several famous locations across England, they reached the film's primary shooting destination by train. During the journey, a few passengers noticed Krishna. His sharp features, light-colored eyes, and fashionable clothes made him stand out. Some people glanced at him repeatedly, curious, but no one recognized him.

Eventually, the train stopped. Krishna and Manoj got down and headed straight toward the film set.

England – Allerton Castle, North Yorkshire

Shooting began three days later.

Krishna started filming alongside a foreign actress named Lisa, who played the female lead. From the first day, they shared good on-screen chemistry and soon became comfortable working with each other. Krishna often helped Lisa with scenes, expressions, and emotional timing, earning her respect.

The first half of the film was completed through combined shoots in India and England.

Then came the most important part—the horror sequences inside the mansion.

The castle's eerie atmosphere added realism to every scene. Krishna's performance during the intense and frightening moments elevated the film, making the horror feel authentic and unsettling. Scene after scene, the movie slowly took shape into something powerful.

After the completion of shooting, the cast and crew organized a small wrap-up party.

Krishna and Lisa danced together, enjoying the final moments of their shared journey. Lisa showed Krishna around several nearby places, and for a while, everything felt light and joyful.

Eventually, it was time to part ways.

"We'll meet again, Krishna," Lisa said warmly.

"Thank you for all your help during the film."

Krishna smiled politely

.

"It was my duty," he replied.

"If you ever need help in the future, just call me. Goodbye, Lisa."

They waved farewell—both knowing this film had become a memorable chapter in their lives.

Mumbai

The film 1920 released today.

Krishna sat comfortably on his sofa, watching television as audience reactions began pouring in from theatres across the country. Reporters interviewed frightened viewers, some still shaken after watching the film.

"Such a scary movie… I felt like my heart would stop," one man said.

"I was so terrified my legs are still shaking," a woman laughed nervously.

"Krishna's performance was outstanding."

Another viewer added,

"A masterpiece. Krishna has done it again."

"Blockbuster for sure," someone shouted from the crowd.

Krishna leaned back, listening quietly. There was no loud celebration, no excitement on his face—just calm satisfaction. After a long day filled with meetings, calls, and media pressure, exhaustion finally caught up with him.

He turned off the TV, lay down on his bed, and closed his eyes.

Today had been overwhelming. He hadn't signed any new films yet, but his mind was already focused on the next goal.
