Alpha Kale POV
The Fox territory was the last place I wanted to be.
I had been riding for hours. The trees were thin and twisted, their branches reaching out like intrusive fingers. The air smelled of damp earth and decay.
Foxes.
More like roaches. The scum of Atlanta. Thieves and swindlers! I hated them. I had always hated them. Their cunning, their deception, their endless scheming. Slippery fuckers! They were not like wolves or dragons. They had no honor. No loyalty. No sense of pack.
But Greyson was here, or at least he could be. And I would walk through hell to find my son. I would deal with these filthy animals if it meant getting Grey back.
I reached the border. A line of stones marked the edge of Fox territory. Beyond it, the land was wild and untamed. No structure to it whatsoever.
I dismounted. I walked forward.
About a dozen guards materialized from the mist. Their teeth were sharp and their hands were on their weapons.
"State your business."
