"Common Metacs are the Metacs that most of you, if not all of you, will ever come into contact with in your whole life. Common Metacs can only reach rank 5. It is what most cultivators use. There can be two of the same kind of a Common Metac."
He paused at this point and pointed his finger at Craig before saying, "Take your Innate Metac for example. There are millions of Sword Heart Metacs in the world. In fact, half of the people of the Sword Way sect start out with the Sword Heart Metac as their Core Metac. So what you have isn't special by any means."
Then his voice became solemn as he said, "But Divine Metacs are special. Divine Metacs are so special that there can only be one of them in the world at a time. If someone possesses a Divine Metac, another person cannot possess the same kind of Divine Metac. That is the law of the world."
At this point, his voice became full of longing and awe as he said, "Another thing that makes Divine Metacs special is that they are the only kinds of Metacs that can reach rank 6. They can even go up to rank 9."
"Since Divine Metacs are needed to advance to rank 6, the uniqueness and scarcity of Divine Metacs are why there are so few Divine beings in the world."
His attention shifted to Craig again. But this time, he said even worse things to him.
He said, "So, young master Slav was right yesterday when he said becoming a rank 6 being is not a matter of talent. You also need luck and connections. Frankly, you barely have the talent. You don't have the luck, the connections, or a special Innate Metac. So it is truly unlikely that you will ever reach rank 6."
Then he asked Craig with an amused expression on his face, "So what will you do, young man? Will you give up now?"
Craig answered without hesitation, "Never."
His reply made Muni laugh. His laughter was full of energy and boisterous.
Then he said to Craig, "That is the spirit. That is the way of cultivation. Never giving up."
He shifted his focus again and looked at everyone as he said, "If you don't try, you will never succeed. So you must try, and you must try your hardest if you want to succeed. If you don't have something, then what you should do is to take it."
His voice was full of anger and determination as he said this. It made them realize that Muni wasn't just parroting some ideals to them. They were able to understand that he was saying what he truly believed in.
Loki said to himself, "If what he said about his initial potential being 45 is true, then it is no wonder he feels this way."
Then he changed the topic to something he just realized. He said, "That aside. I think the uniqueness of Divine Metacs is why Slav couldn't possess the Rewind Metac after I took it and why Craig still had the Sword Heart Metac after I took his from the previous timeline."
"But why did Slav awaken a different Divine Metac? Why didn't he awaken a Common Metac? Is he that talented?"
Then he smacked his lips and thought to himself, "I guess I will find out soon. If Slav is truly that talented, then I don't mind helping him realize the full extent of his talent."
As he thought of this, Slav felt a faint threat coming from him. So Slav turned to him and narrowed his eyes at him.
Loki ignored him and chose to focus on the lesson. At this point, Muni had calmed down from his agitated state.
He coughed and said, "Let's return to the class. Let's talk about Core Metacs and Branch Metacs."
Muni started by saying, "Core Metacs are the foundation of the pathway to power. Each Core Metac point out to a supreme dao. That is, each Core Metac is the first Metac one must fuse with and have as their life-bound Metac in order to borrow some of the power of the Supreme Dao."
"Core Metacs are why we are stronger than ancient cultivators. Branch Metac can substitute for spells, but Core Metac can raise our state of existence and make us closer to the Dao."
"Branch Metac are Metacs that are used in combination with Core Metac to produce power. For example, the people of the Sword Way sect use Phantom Blade Metac, a Metac that creates a temporary blade out of energy, and the Sword Edge Metac, a Metac that makes any blade become sharper, together with the Sword Heart Metac."
"The job of the Sword Heart Metac is to elevate the existence of the cultivator and help them advance while also making it possible for the power of many Branch Metacs to be combined into one. So both the Core Metacs and the Branch Metacs are useful."
After saying this, he went to the blackboard and began drawing a diagram to illustrate what he was saying.
He drew a large circle and wrote the Sword Heart Metac in this circle. Then he drew many other small circles around the large circle. He wrote words like Phantom Sword, Sword Edge, Flying Sword, and Breaking Sword in the small circles. Finally, he drew a line from each of the small circles to the large circle at the center.
After he was done drawing, he turned to them and said, "So a Core Metac is like a spider, while the Branch Metacs are nodes in the spider web that the spider wove. The stronger the Core Metac, the stronger the spider will be, and the more Branch Metacs there are, the larger the web can be."
"In this analogy, you are also the spider. This is because the Core Metac will fuse with you. So Core Metacs can't be changed easily. You have to be careful with the Core Metac you pick, and you can only have one Core Metac."
