Chapter 41: The All-Encompassing Nen

In Ronin's system, learning Ninjutsu wasn't about difficulty. As long as he had the Chakra, he could perform any Jutsu he remembered, regardless of elemental affinity.

Even complex Taijutsu like the Eight Gates didn't require years of conditioning to open the pathways. He simply formed the seals, released the Chakra, and the gates opened as easily as breathing.

The only limitation was "Rank." If a Jutsu was beyond his current Sharingan level, it was locked.

Of course, there were exceptions. Bloodline Limit techniques (Kekkei Genkai) were off-limits, unless they were ocular-based.

And then there was the Summoning Jutsu.

Even if he performed the seals, nothing would appear because he hadn't signed a contract.

Unless he found a suitable Beast in this world and signed a blood pact, that Jutsu was useless. Ronin planned to find a Magical Beast to test this later.

But Ronin's mind wandered deeper.

What if I broaden my thinking?

What if I analyze the relationship between Chakra and Nen through the lens of Conditions and Vows?

This thought was a revelation.

Maybe Chakra itself was just a specific transmutation of Nen.

Following this logic, everything made sense.

The "Level Restriction," the need to hunt Scarlet Eyes, the increasing cost for evolution—these were undoubtedly Restrictions (Conditions).

In exchange for these strict conditions, he received the Vow (Benefit): The ability to convert Nen into Chakra, access to a vast library of powerful, versatile Jutsu, and the ocular powers of the Sharingan.

Essentially, from the moment he awakened, his Specialist Nen ability was "The Ninja System."

It was a highly efficient, personalized ability. He could call it "Ninja" or "Sharingan," since everything started with the eyes.

Furthermore, Nen wasn't just Life Energy. It encompassed Spiritual Energy as well.

Gon's meditation in Zetsu and Netero's prayer punches were forms of spiritual cultivation.

When Gon cleared Wing's promise restriction or Knuckle's APR, his aura capacity spiked because his mental state shifted.

This proved that Nen and Spirit were inextricably linked.

When spiritual energy is strong, Nen becomes strong.

This explained Ronin's rapid growth.

When he transmigrated, he absorbed the dissipating soul of his predecessor. That fusion bolstered his spiritual energy far beyond a normal human's.

It also explained why his childhood memories were fuzzy, but the memories of the massacre were vivid. The predecessor's soul might have subconsciously made a Vow on its deathbed: Trading its existence for a new soul capable of changing fate.

The price? Permanent dissipation. No reincarnation.

Understanding this deepened Ronin's grasp of Nen.

Nen was all-encompassing. Chakra, in his case, was a specialized fuel for specific techniques.

Both systems had weaknesses.

Top-tier Nen users like Netero, Meruem, or the Royal Guards were balanced monsters—high attack, high defense, high speed.

Ninjas, even Kage-level ones, were often glass cannons.

Their destructive output was immense, but their physical durability compared to an Enhancer was laughable. They relied on evasion and substitution to survive.

When Ronin switched to Chakra Mode, his defense dropped significantly compared to his Nen Mode.

Even in the Intermediate State, he was squishier. His peak defense was pure Nen reinforcement.

Maybe perfecting the Lightning Style Chakra Mode will fix this.

The Lightning Armor was a B-Rank Jutsu, but it drained Chakra massively. Ronin hadn't mastered the extreme speed it granted, which was why he couldn't use it effectively against Uvogin.

Even with the Sharingan, moving at that speed required intense physical adaptation. The Raikage was truly a freak of nature.

Next time... if Uvogin can still fight, I'll crush him in his own domain: A frontal clash of speed and power.

Ronin's plan for his Hatsu was becoming clear.

He needed an ability that could generate or store massive amounts of Chakra (or Nen).

His goal was to become a "Tail-less Tailed Beast" like Kisame Hoshigaki.

Or perhaps... create an artificial Tailed Beast inside himself?

But becoming a Jinchūriki carried risks. Being a self-sustaining powerhouse was safer.

He couldn't be greedy and pick everything. Nen had a "memory capacity" limit.

Masters like Netero specialized to maximize their potential.

It was a pity he wasn't a Conjurer. If he were, he could just conjure Samehada (Shark Skin) to eat aura and refill his reserves.

But if he were a Conjurer, he would lose his physical edge as an Enhancer.

Thoughts clashed in his mind. Ronin decided to take his time. He needed to find the optimal path to maximize his POP (Potential Output Power).

He looked out the window.

Endless fields of wheat flashed by.

Mordin City was close.
