Once they arrived at school ethan walked away from Dan even before he had time to catch up. Luckily they were in different classrooms, giving ethan some space to breath properly but still, that didn't mean he was free, no he had his so called 'friends ' to deal with.
These 'friends' of his were totally fake, and he had been a fool to trust them, once leila started bullying him, they showed their true colours and joined in , ostricizing him, even going as far as beating him up.
He wasnt going to associate himself with them anymore. It would just bring him down.
He opened the door and paused at the entrance scanning the room until his eyes landed on someone, A boy with black hair who had his head down facing the window probably sleeping. He walked over and tapped the table next to him where a girl sat
'' Hey Jua'' he waved at her once she looked up ''uh, hi ethan can I help you with something?'' She politely smiled back
''Uh yah, the thing is I have a serious problem with my eyes'' he hesitated not sure if she would be convinced ''And I know you've sort of wanted to sit in the back with your friends'' he glanced at his previous seat at the back where most of the 'cool' kids sat, she followed his gaze, and there was a hint of excitement that flashed through her eyes ''So I was–'' She cut him off before he could finish his sentence and stood up clutching his hands ''oh! No problem ethan I wouldn't want you to suffer any longer!'' She grabbed her bag '' we can exchange seats'' then she glanced back at her desk partner and then hesitated for a bit ''Um....he's not really the best desk mate....he doesn't talk much and is'' She stopped covering her mouth quickly, she cursed inwardly, not wanting him to change his mind she quickly added '' His just quiet so you can ignore him! anyways have fun, bye!'' She rushed off to the back as ethan just sighed and sat down amused. He organized himself before turning to the boy who was still sleeping and had his back to him. He wanted to tap the boy but just then the teacher arrived and the boy instantly lifted his head revealing a handsome face with long eye lashes, he didnt look like some one who just took a nap
'Did he hear everything?' But ethan was pulled out of his thoughts when the teacher called his name
''Ethan! What are you doing there? go back to your seat''
''Sir I can't really see from my old seat...I'd appreciate it if you allowed me to swap'' He said looking embarrassed as everyone had their eyes on him.
''Sigh..... fine as long as you finally concentrate, Now hand in your homework everyone!"
Time passed as the day progressed. And soon it was lunch, time ethan turned and faced the boy ''Hey wann-"
''Hey man!'' One of his 'friends' grabbed his shoulders forcing him to face them. ''Not cool man! You just switched seats like it's nothing'' one complained and another added ''should we come join you here, since you can't see at the back!''
Ethan was displeased but just ignored them and turned back to the boy but unfortunately he had already left, he sighed
'' You guys should screw off, since when have we been so close'' he said as he stood up and walked out of the class leaving them confused '' Hey ethan!'' They tried chasing after him but he had already vanished '' what the heck's up with him?''
He walked towards the cafeteria in hopes of finding his desk partner but he wasnt there, he then walked towards the tuck shop to grab something to nibble on, although he had no apetite he still had to eat something. He stopped in his tracks as he noticed a familiar face , he walked towards them ''Hey! I was looking for you , why'd you leave class so early?'' But the boy just lowered his head in response and stayed quiet, ethan didn't know what to say or do to kill the silence and just then the boy bowed his head and excused himself and ran off dropping something in the process
''Hey you dropped something!'' But the boy was already long gone, ethan just sighed, 'Is he shy?' He didnt need to stress though as his plan was to befriend the boy and he had achieved the first step that was to sit next to him. He picked up the bag of chips that the boy dropped and continued his journey to the tuck shop 'I can just return these to him and strike up and conversation and thing would go well from there, how hard could it be?'.
Lunch time passed by like a flash and now he was Heading back to his classroom. He had stayed at the tuck shop the whole time not wanting anyone to bother him, he wasn't in the mood any ways and just wanted some peace and quiet to rearrange his thoughts.
He entered class ignoring his 'friends' calls at the back and just sat down glancing at the boy who once again had his head on the table and back to him, he gently but hesitantly knocked on his table and almost instantly the boy flinched and looked at him
''Can I help you?'' He said in a low timid voice
Ethan just smiled at him and placed a plastic bag on his table
''You dropped these earlier''
But the boy glanced at the bag on the table and back at ethan before hesitantly opening the bag and glancing at ethan ''But..... I just dropped a bag of chips...I'm not sure about the yoghurt ''. Ethan had put an extra item into the bag for him ''Ah, you don't like yoghurt?" He questioned the boy ''No...I-I can't take it, isn't it yours?" He lowered his head. Ethan didn't know what to do, he had never done something like this so he was lost for words.
''Well I bought it for, I thought I'd give you something as I must have imposed on you'' he scratched his head ''anyways I'd appreciate it if you accepted it'' the boy just looked at him suspiciously before muttering a low ''thank you'' before putting the plastic bag into his bag and laying back down.
