Solomon slowly laid Everett's unconscious body on his bedroll.
Once his brother was adjusted, Solomon glanced at the occupied doorway where Lia sat with a worried expression and permanently pursed lips.
"…It'll probably be a bit before he wakes up, so..."
"I don't care. I don't mind staying with him."
Somehow, Solomon had already expected that to be the case, but seeing her resolve really did put a smile on his face.
He gave his brother one last fleeting look before leaving.
'Don't fuck this up, buddy...'
After leaving Everett in good company, Solomon returned to Griselda's house in the center of the village. There, Everett and Tavian were seated at the table with his sisters and Griselda herself.

Tavian and Raizel glanced at each other.
